i was a social worker for many years so i know that having MILs photo out would put the kids at risk and a child protection order would be put in place

Miaou · 05/05/2008 22:07

LOL OJ!

I will be thinking of you tomorrow when DMIL (that is delusioned MIL) comes to visit. I love the image of her ringing the doorbell for ten minutes before you answer

Pepperrabbit, sad as I am to hear that your bf not only lost her husband but had a DMIL to contend with as well, I'm glad to hear the nurses got involved and gave them some peace together.

RosaLuxembourg · 05/05/2008 22:07

Just checking in, OJ, to wish you strength and courage, which you clearly have in abundance, in case you need extra for MIL's visit tomorrow.

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 05/05/2008 22:08

OJ

Off to bed, taking the mobi with me.

Tickle · 05/05/2008 22:16

Lovely to read so many positive experiences from people who have lost loved ones - having a good sob at the keyboard now

Sleep well, OJ & co.

WendyWeber · 05/05/2008 22:41

The MIL will prob start thumping and shouting after a minute or two, like Fred Flintstone - "WilMAAAA!"

I love WT's trifle deaf gag - I dare you

berolina · 05/05/2008 22:52

Thoughts OJ, and extra strength for tomorrow. Am liking the 'trifle deaf' line. x

toytownmum · 05/05/2008 23:13

My thoughts are with you and your family, I am going on hols tomorrow for 9 days and am actually thinking of taking my laptop so I can continue to follow your story each day.

mummylin2495 · 05/05/2008 23:27

oj i have been away and have only just caught up with your thread.I hope your bil treated you with some respect tonight. As for Mil i definatly would let her ring the bell for at least an hour ! Hope you have a peaceful night and that steve also manages a good few hours without pain.

onlyjoking9329 · 06/05/2008 00:24

it was silly of me to think i would get an early night
night lady just rand me, steve trying to get out of bed, thou he says it is a cage, he is very convinced that the night nurse is a burgaler so having shown him her ID card and uniform he is now thinking she is a prison warden. we havw got him onto the commode which is now a 2 person job for him to tell us that it is trifle he needs and not a wee, trifle now given along with morphine and lorazepam, lets hope he settles now. if he doesn't maybe i should phone his mother and get her to sing him a lullaby.

bamamama · 06/05/2008 04:55

Hope the OJ household had a peaceful rest of the night. Good luck with MIL today, I should think a good hour on the door step should do it...(for starters)

onlyjoking9329 · 06/05/2008 05:31

I wonder if it will rain.
I am just off back to bed steve was shouting for his solicitor, he says that the prison have locked him up for no good reason. I bet he will sleep throu his mothers vist.

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 06/05/2008 05:36

If you have a hot water bottle put it in your bed, the heat might make you go back to sleep more quickly.

Buda · 06/05/2008 06:01

Hope you got back to sleep OJ.

Glad BIL's visit went ok.

Hope MIL is civil this morning.

LOL at WT's "trifle deaf" joke!

I think of you often during the day and wonder how you are. Am full of admiration for how you manage to keep your sense of humour. It will stand you in good stead.

Hugs. Wishing I could do more.

cositjustisok · 06/05/2008 06:43

Good mornng OJ... you had a rough night, hope you get some shut eye before the school run. Good luck with the MIL visit...hopefully it will not add any more stress to your day. Thinking of yu Steve and the kids as always
xx.

Vev · 06/05/2008 07:11

OJ - thinking of you, Steve and the children.

onlyjoking9329 · 06/05/2008 07:40

i did get a bit more sleep, steve is sleeping soundly, the kids are all ready for school and i am having a coffee before the shift handover at 8.
then i will be spending most of the morning on the phone no doubt.

Beetroot · 06/05/2008 07:42

Oj - do you buy all sorts of different trifles? are there loads to choose from?

and why trifles?

MaryBS · 06/05/2008 08:31

OMGosh! If you are what you eat, you'll have to offer your MIL strychnine... or arsenic... or .... she is POISON!

Praying for you, Steve and your dear children.

onlyjoking9329 · 06/05/2008 09:18

i don't know what started the triflemania, i think he likes them cos they don't take any effort. he likes all sorts thou his fav one just has to be the GU black forest ones, of course they are the most expensive ones too
i have just had the doctors dragon receptionist on the phone who says steve is overdue his warfarin injection and can he pop up to the surgery ASAP
i explained to her that steve is not even on warfarin and he couldn't just pop anywhere if he wanted, she insisted that she had a phone call on friday to say that he needed it ASAP, i am confused, DN is coming out to see steve as he has cough and some swelling around his throat and collar bone, i think it is fluid and am hoping he doesn't have a chest infection.

winebeforepearls · 06/05/2008 09:47

OJ, a dippy receptionist is just what you don't need . I hope the DN will sort things out.

Thinking of you xxx

triflenorks · 06/05/2008 09:56

your mil will be turning up soon, I am sending you all my best wishes.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 06/05/2008 10:11

Sending calm vibes for you this morning OJ

onlyjoking9329 · 06/05/2008 10:48

lots of phonecalls later it seems the doctors receptionist is saying there has been a mix up and she is sorry for adding to my stress levels.
Mac nurse has spoken to consultant who says to up the steroids change his laxative and up the haloperidol as he is becoming more paranoid.
Steve mother is here, she rang the bell then relized it wasn't working so she knocked on the door, the door was unlocked and she used to just walk in but she won't nowdays.
she hasn't spoken to me other than to say no when i asked her if she wanted coffee. only an hour until she leaves, steve hasn't seen her as he is asleep.

Beetroot · 06/05/2008 10:51

what a shame the woman cannot be with you and go through this with you.

To be in a house with a woman coping with the amount of stress you are coping with and not be there for you is mind boggling

take care
