Hi all got my ct scan on Wednesday morning for my tumor in chest. The radiographer was a handsome Irish guy. Really pleasant. I cried as I was overwhelmed and he took time to listen while he was finding a vain.
Been panicking the rest of the week, in case they phone back. Actual full panic attacks. I hate the waiting. I know it can take days or weeks for scan results. The slightest twitch in my chest or cough, I’m paranoid.
waiting to see a clinical phycologist for help.
it’s the thought of going through surgery and chemo again, it fills me with fear.

As our thread is nearly full, when someone is kind enough to set up a new one, as we have some lovely new members and as my memory is as useful as a really not very useful thing, I am wondering if we could start the new thread by introducing ourselves again? Type of cancer, brief history and where we are now, age of kids if any ... that makes me of thing. Would that be ok?

TwigTheWonderKid · 24/02/2024 13:41

@Shityshitybangbang scanxiety is the worst. Did the radiographer tell you how long it will take for the radiologist to do the report?

Shityshitybangbang · 24/02/2024 13:51

scanxiety, that’s definitely true!! That’s definitely a true word. He just says before it was done, because I’m under the consultants care, it should take a few days. They are checking to see if my tumor has grown, as my last scan was Halloween. If it has it will need to come out. They haven’t a clue what it is. But it does look like a slow growing cancer that’s been there for a long long time.

SewingBees · 24/02/2024 14:05

@TwigTheWonderKid I think the reintroducing ourselves idea is a good one. I also forget everyone's individual situation. I don't know how to set up a new thread though, and I'm not witty enough to think of a good title.

TwigTheWonderKid · 24/02/2024 14:31

No worries @SewingBees we can abdicate that responsibility to @LemonDrizzle10 if she's still around or if not, I reckon @TopOfTheCliff is good for a witty thread title!

LemonDrizzle10 · 24/02/2024 15:15

@TwigTheWonderKid I’m still here, lurking away 😃.
Any witty ideas for a new thread title?

Shiny new thread - I’ll head over and put the kettle on.

Glad you liked my suggestion @LemonDrizzle10
I have been on Gransnet today and got into an argument on the hip replacement thread 😂 They seem to think I should be settling down to life with my knitting and avoiding anything strenuous in case it causes my new hip to dislocate. I’m afraid I tend to ignore advice from people who don’t exercise or enjoy adventure sports. I didn’t go through all this tedious treatment just to abandon all the things that I enjoy. It’s just a matter of putting in the time and effort to rebuild strength and balance and then getting on with it. Bah!
DH has been out all day with his mates having fun and while I encouraged him to go I am a bit fed up now. He was meant to be back by 2pm. I may be a bit snippy with him when he sidles in from the pub. 😂

@lucysmam

I wore a dark green Hobbs lace dress, matching hatinator, extraordinarily expensive and fabulous LKBennet shoes, with a champagne bag
Then changed into pink lace in the evening

Was a fabulous day

Slept in here!!!

Yes please!

What a wonderful kennel for the Mother of the Groom. Was it really uneven or is that the photo? I stayed in a glamping pod at Wanlock Head once that was a wigwam made out of shed walls. DH was allergic to the pine!
You sound very chic and polished. I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
Off to the new thread now… this one is Tumbleweed.

It wasn't lopsided no!
Warm and cosy, but lots smaller than I thought
