I have just sat in my car and screamed at the top of my voice several times because a car was blocking my wy in my road and showed no sign of moving towards the space I had left for it to exit, instead just flashing headlights at me for no reason (I could not pass him).

While this was annoying I do think my reaction was over the top but I am filled with an uncontrollable rage at the moment.

My periods are REALLY heavy and I am finding sleep difficult as I feel all hot and bothered.

I don't get period pains, just rage.

Is there anything I can do to level out my my moods ? PS I don't mean Yoga or meditation!)

And I nearly started a very uncharacteristic thread doing the whole ''nobody loves me, everybody hates me, my dh is a git, my children are vile, my life sucks and...and...'' thing - before I clocked the date.....

charliechaplin · 28/02/2008 18:40

I am also a dreadful PMS sufferer combined with cyclical depression. In fact if you google PMDD - that is me. It all started going dreadfully wrong after DD was born. I take all the herbal things I can (Magnesium OK, starflower, fish oild, agnus castus, but nothing seems to work and I just end up spending a fortune. I cannot control my rages or avoid them - they just descend.

Just wondering if anyone has been to the doctor about it and if so what reaction they got. I have a feeling that I will just be told to grin & bear it. However, it seems to be gettingworse every month - I have one good week and then 2-3 BAD and it is starting to really effect my relationship with DH & DD. I am worried that it will spiral into all out depression if I am not careful.

Will be keeping an eye on this thread...

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 28/02/2008 18:42

I know Agnus Castus works for me as I have forgotten to take it lately and I have my onne day where I am foul before my period.

Highly recommend it.

filthymindedvixen · 28/02/2008 18:44

yes, i mention it to gp years ago while having a smear. He tried to bung me on ADs, nice practice nurse took me on one side later and recommended Eve Prim Oil and Vit B - been much better ever since.

Obv, no good for clinical depression, but I do think GPs are too quick to prescribe drugs. Especially wen I was only enquiring about diet and PMT!

charliechaplin · 28/02/2008 18:48

I noticed that Prozac has been re-certified under another name for use with PMS/PMDD. Not really sure this is a route I want to go down. Especially in light of the recent publicity....

VanillaPumpkin · 28/02/2008 18:50

Hello. I have moments like this where I feel totally out of control and also very disatisfied with everything in my life and miserable. It is always before my period. I have some Evening Primrose oil but when should I take it? All month? On my bad days???
Please help, I have to try something before it gets any worse.

filthymindedvixen · 28/02/2008 18:52

take it every day Vanilla pumpkin, tis an accumulative effect as it vitb6.

CanterburyTaLcS · 28/02/2008 18:54

I have this, beanie, have tried most prescribed and alternative remedies.

GP has just taken me off Hormone manipulation,as this treatment failed.

He put me back on Prozac again which is honestly the only thing that has worked for me.

Hoping you find a solution soon.

VanillaPumpkin · 28/02/2008 18:56

Thank you. I have a huge tub and high hopes . I am not totally out of control, but I think my pill helps a bit and I don't want to get any worse. I give my DH such a hard time. Luckily he just checks my pill pack and ignores me. It isn't fair though is it.

MoreSpamThanGlam · 28/02/2008 19:02

I was just about to start a thread "Who wants a fight?"

I have just had jump out the car arguement with white van man. The dopey woman on my right at a roundabout was indicating to go right but not moving - hence i dint move. He was bibbing and hooting so i just went slow to piss him off. He overtook and slammed on brakes and came to my window. I must have had such a mental look in my eye and was screaming at him to fuck off and learn his fucking highway code. He said I was mental - I was so tempted to ram his van.

I feel like a loonatic. U have tried to be really good with food and drink but my periods and rage are getting worse.

Am going to buy a bucket load of B6

beaniesteve · 28/02/2008 19:20

I am going to get some Vitamin B6. Just had a long conversation with my sister about what I can take and she says Clarisage (Sp) and rose something? Oh and also anyting with magnesium like sunflower seeds?

Just a shame I can't do anything now about this moths rages. Day four of my period and it's still heavy, deep red etc.

Luckily for me I don't get any back ache, pains etc - otherwise I think I might just take a week off and stay in bed!

MoreSpamThanGlam - I feel your pain

Driving (or other drivers) is a nightmare for me.

OP posts:
Ulysees · 28/02/2008 19:32

count me in I'm terrible for a week before. I'm going to make an effort to take some supplements though this month.

beaniesteve · 28/02/2008 19:35

The week before doesn't seem to be the issue for me. I get hyper and excited the week before and want to kill people during

beaniesteve · 02/03/2008 12:15

Right ho fellow sufferers. I am on day seven of my period and it's still heavy and I am still emotional.

I have bought some evening primrose and vitamin B6.

am hoping if I take it between now and my next cycle I'll fee a lot better.

OP posts:
TimeForMe · 02/03/2008 13:31

Good luck with it Beaniesteve. I would suggest a good multi vitamin with iron too, your periods seem very long and heavy which may be causing ou to be aneamic. Maybe you should see your GP for a blood test.

charliechaplin · 02/03/2008 13:41

Interestingly, I have started taking high strength fish oils, with high strength Starflower oil, plus my magnesium OK and the Agnus Castus and an iron tablet every other day (innards can't cope with every day!) and I feel SIGNIFICANTLY better. It is the week before AF and I have actually chilled since my last post.

Down side is, it is costing a fortune in supplements... will continue to report back though. If this works for me, it will be worth it - for everyone!

Oblomov · 02/03/2008 13:52

watching with interest.

beaniesteve · 02/03/2008 14:02

Hiya Timeforme - I had some blood tests last month and am going back for the one they do on day 21 on 17th March (which is strictly speaking day 22 but I can't go on a weekend). All the other tests came back ok, although I only know what the receptionist read down the phone to me so I am considering calling the surgery tomorrow and asking for an appointment because I would like the Dr to explain them. She did say to me at the time that if there was a problem with any of the tests she would put a note on to say so but the only note was to come in on 21st day for one more test which I'm hoping is good news rather than bad.

Ever since I came off the pill in Oct my cycle has not only been really short (24 days) but my period has been longer. One month I had a 9 day Period, another month I had a 21 day cycle.

I'm not sure if 4/5 months after coming off the mini-pill I should still be having problems but who knows.

OP posts:
Oblomov · 02/03/2008 14:28

beanie, you and I are ttc, right ?
Soory did someone answer the q about what was good for those ttc ?

beaniesteve · 02/03/2008 14:33

Oblomov.

yeah - I am and I am getting scared about everything which seems to be going on in my cycle.

I am sure that any medicines or vitamins you might want to take should be checked out with your doctor first but I have bought some B6 and Evening primrose Oil because I am fed up. I will my doctor about what's safe if I can get an appointment.

I was considering Agnus Castus but am not going to until I have spoken to her and also until after i have had a scan (which she's been promising me for ages but I still have no appointment for) to check out if there's any reason I have a lump in my lymph node in my groin.

Anyone know if 5 months is enough time to see your hormones settle after coming off the mini pill?

OP posts:
Oblomov · 02/03/2008 14:50

I am right at the beginning of the ttc cycle, because I have never tried before. Feels like it is impossible already. Hope we get there.

beaniesteve · 02/03/2008 14:58

I have not tried before, I mean this is my first time and I have been trying since late Oct.

I found that the first month I was completely obsessed by it and then hugely disappointed when I didn't get pregnant straight away. Then I chilled out for a couple of months but since having these problems with my preiods and stuff I have once again become obsessed with it all.

I know the best advice is to stay relaxed and chilled but it's quite difficult not to get a bit stressy.

Having periods more than a week long doesn't help either because I get very emotional AND I can't even think about making babies

good luck - some people get pregnant very quickly

OP posts:
Oblomov · 02/03/2008 15:16

my sympathy. Periods more than a week long ? nightmare. Mine are a couple of days. And I am 28 days regular.
Dh was not ready, after mmc in Nov, but feels better since yesterday.
I must stop worrying about it. He said lets just enjoy and see how it goes - shall we put that on all ttc threads and try and rememeber it

beaniesteve · 02/03/2008 15:21

lol - yeah

I know I am obsessing.
spent all day today going back through my blogs trying to draw up a calendar of what's happened when, how long my cycles have been, how long my periods have lasted so I can at least be informed when I go to the docs...

good luck - I'm sure relaxing is the best thing. Just the rage always seems to get me ...
