robinpud · 22/11/2007 09:16

Oh, OJ - you poor poor thing. My heart goes out to you; I wish I could do something to help other than send you vibes and pass you a large cup of coffee.
Is there anything between hospital and home that would be better?

LilRedWG · 22/11/2007 09:17

OJ. I'm wish I could help you in some way other than keeping you supplied with this.

Marina · 22/11/2007 09:18

Oh, OJ
Thinking of you especially today XXX

frostythesnowmum · 22/11/2007 09:20

What pain meds is he on? does he have a syringe driver ( a gaget that can slow release morphine and other meds over 24 hrs) If not he could be given one and the district nurse come everyday to refil it.

WatsInSantasSack · 22/11/2007 09:21

Balls oj, we are all here for you , please lean on us today

onlyjoking9329 · 22/11/2007 09:23

Thanks for the cake & coffee.
it's hard to see him in pain and he doesn't like anyone around when he is being sick, i just lay with him and hug him when i can but i so wish i could get rid of all this for him.

WatsInSantasSack · 22/11/2007 09:26

Oj, you must be a huge comfort to Steve, you seem to have a very unique and strong love for eachother

onlyjoking9329 · 22/11/2007 09:26

no he doesn't have a driver, he isn't on morphine and trying to avoid it as long as possible as he will just sleep all the time on that

OP posts:
WatsInSantasSack · 22/11/2007 09:28

Can they give a smaller dose of morphine so that he's more comfortable but can stay awake ? I really hope they help Steve today

BoysAreLikeReindeer · 22/11/2007 09:29

Oh OJ thinking of you all

gibberish · 22/11/2007 09:32

OJ will be thinking of you today. Really hope Steve can be made comfortable. Hoping you are managing to take care of yourself too throughout this.

onlyjoking9329 · 22/11/2007 09:33

OJ I'm so sorry. I watched a friend and her dh go through something similar last year, and all I can say is that he didn't want to go into hospital either - but hospital were able to make him a lot more comfortable, and give him some quality time. I hope the same for your dh, if he has to go in.

Thinking of you, xxx

Elibean · 22/11/2007 10:22

All the waiting for doctors to call/do something must be hell, too.

Sorry things are so tough for you. Thinking of you. I hope the doctor can help.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/11/2007 10:49

Hugs to you and Steve OJ.

You really do no need to go to hospital. I really don't think there is anything that can't be administered at home. You just have to fight your corner if necessary.

Has your dh tried oramorph (oral morphine)? This isn't so strong as IV morphine.

fryalot · 22/11/2007 10:54

you and Steve are in my thoughts, oj

onlyjoking9329 · 22/11/2007 11:00

i wished the doctor would hurry up and phone as i need to use the phone but i can't until he has phoned

OP posts:
WendyWeber · 22/11/2007 11:04

Oh dear, oj

Hope doc rings soon. Hope Steve can be helped at home but if not, just has to have a couple of days in hospital to sort him out.
