Not really an AIBU but posting here for traffic - name changed because, well, this is weird and embarrassing and it isn't the first time it's happened and I want to know if it's ever happened to any of you:

Last night I had a really bad, very vivid, dream about my best friend who's recently had a baby, whereby she collapsed and was taken to hospital leaving me to look after her newborn - cue me wandering around her "house" looking for a loo as I needed to pee....

You can guess what's coming can't you; I dreamt I'd found a loo and proceeded to relieve myself, then woke up realising I'd ACTUALLY PEE'D Blush jumped up to dash to the "real life" loo but it was too late and all the pee came gushing out *TMI WARNING** as it had collected 'inside' me Blush

Spent the next 20 minutes cleaning myself up and changing my pj's and desperately hoping DH and DD wouldn't come into the bathroom wondering what the hell was going on....

As I said, this isn't the first time this has happened, and I've tried to mitigate it by not drinking much before bed, but when you're deep asleep, and dreaming of being on the toilet, I'm not sure there's much you can do really

Please tell me I'm not the only one this has happened to!

I’m past Middle Ages and it’s happened a few times to me in my life. Once as a young adult - prob alcohol involved? Then once as an older adult and once as a parent. No idea why you hid it from the kids, mine thought it was grand mum had wet the bed and herself and they told that story to anyone who would listen for years Grin. Each time I had dreamed I was going to the toilet on a toilet. Thinking about it, I just thank god it was wee each time!

I had taken 2 solpadol (DH's) as my back was killing me, but when it's happened before I was neither drunk nor on strong painkillers...

Yeah I've woken myself up a couple of times in the last few years dreaming of doing a wee and a bit of wee actually coming out! Usually I then convince myself I have some awful kidney infection or something but I think it's just one of those things.

God, no idea why my age was converted to the time period! Obviously, I am past middle age, I didn’t live in the Middle Ages.

Yes I've done it too but had to change the bed as I didn't wake up quite soon enough. Very embarrassing

I wondered this too. Surely it always collects inside of you, that's what a bladder is for! Do you mean it somehow went into your vagina?

As in it was all inside my (whispers) vagina so that when I stood up, it all gushed out

I'm a big lady, and I sleep on my side, so my legs are clamped together so the only place for the pee to go is inside me

Are you under a lot of stress at the moment? In my early twenties this happened to me about three times over a few months. Including once when DP (now DH) was in bed with me!!!

It's never happened since and I was experiencing an exceptional amount of stress and grief at the time and that's the only reason why I can think of.

Will be dreaming for a good half an hour it feels like searching for a toilet and there always being some obstacle as to why I can't use said toilet, it's infuriating. Then I wake up and realise I need a wee. Funny what the brain does.

That's what happens to me, I search everywhere for a loo, there's always something to stop me (like being surrounded by people) and then I eventually find one and either wake up just in time, or like last night and it's far too late

Not sure why everyone thinks I'm lying or a troll but I promise you, as weird as it sounds, that this is true

I'm a big girl (size 28) so my physical build is why it happens the way it does (as in it going inside me)
