How do i get rid of it quickly? Have taken 3 Rennie Deflatine so far. No burps/farts yet..

Sooo painful just under ribs and across back and shoulders.

Need to get DD's tea cooked but can hardly walk.

Hot water bottle? Do you have any other symptoms - breathlessness or pain anywhere else?

alipiggie · 21/03/2007 17:40

Trying lying on your back, pull your knees up to your chest and rock - it's a yoga exercise and used to produce massive gas release in the class . Seriously though it might help. Sorry you're suffering tortoise.

tortoise · 21/03/2007 17:41

Got hot wheat thing.
Pain just where i said.
Eased a little tiny bit compaired to crying curled up on the sofa just now.

If i led on the floor DD's would be trying to jump on me!

Sure you havent trapped a nerve in your back/neck?

Hot water bottle should help it anyway.

tortoise · 21/03/2007 17:43

alipiggie I just tried but hurt too much!

Poor you - it can be excruitiating. Try sipping hot water with a little sugar and a drop of brandy in it - the grown up equivalent of gripe water!

talcyone · 21/03/2007 17:44

Hot bath helped me
DH nearly called an ambulance

Bucketsofdynomite · 21/03/2007 17:46

Anything peppermint whether you like it or not, even brushing your teeth.

tortoise · 21/03/2007 17:47

Am rocking while sat in the chair!

I don't think i can make it to run a bath yet!!

Ooooh big burp!! yay!

Blimey, want to run you a nice hot bath

Elibean · 21/03/2007 17:53

tortoise, get dh to massage your back if you can - bit like bringing wind up on a baby, IYSWIM: can help! Poor you, I've had that to crying point once or twice (mostly when pregnant) its horrid. Anything that helps you relax is a good idea.

tortoise · 21/03/2007 17:54

lilgrayfox · 21/03/2007 18:03

i find that a BIG spoonful of bicarbonate of soda in a small amount of water really helps tastes foul but does the trick !!

megandsoph · 21/03/2007 18:11

The quickest way is to lie completly flat (no pillows or anything), and the trapped bubbles will find their way out. I Swear this works, I know as have suffered at least 1 a fortnight for the past few years.

Hope you feel better soon.

tortoise · 21/03/2007 18:13

ok I will try it. I know laying down hurts more though!

DD's eating rice crispies for tea!!
