I'v just come back from the hospital after having a ECG scan and various other tests and it came back to say I have Cyadide Poisoning. The Dr said any more and I would be dead!

I only used a flea treatment on my dog!

Does anyone know anything about cyanide?

I know it takes 3 years to leave the atmosphere!

oh bugger

What are they going to do for you?

danceswithaSPRINGinherstep · 18/03/2007 19:25

HOW the HECK did you get that from a flea treatment?!

hillary · 18/03/2007 19:26

They say there's not antidote!

Its one of the listed ingredients, I cant believe the vet insisted I used it - I had two babies with me too!

The hospital just recommended to sit and do nothing (single mum of two) and if I cannot breath to call an ambulance!

lulumama · 18/03/2007 19:35

SoupDragon · 18/03/2007 19:35

What flea treatment was it??

tortoise · 18/03/2007 19:37

How awful for you.

DimpledThighs · 18/03/2007 19:39

OMG!

hillary · 18/03/2007 19:39

Oh yes please! I would love oxygen, they just told me to sit still and not to exert myself keep window open etc.. they don't like handing things out these days do they.

It was the Advocate spot on treatment for dogs, its also used for cats too.

The thing is theres nothing on the lable to say even to wear gloves! when I requested the full list of ingredients and safety percortions(sp?) it stated 'highly toxic do not breath, use industrial overalls and full face mask'

WTF?!

OP posts:
lulumama · 18/03/2007 19:40

unbelievable ! you have kids, how can you not exert yourself !!!!!!!!

danceswithaSPRINGinherstep · 18/03/2007 19:40

Keep the window open? It's frickin freezing out there. Blardy hell. Can you ring Bupa now on an emergency no. and ask for some oxygen. FGS

Bucketsofdynomite · 18/03/2007 19:41

My aunt had this, it was from burning a laurel bush she'd cut down, apparently it gives off cyanide gas. She'd got herself to bed but couldn't reach the phone to call for help and eventually passed out and came round the next day.
Hope you feel better soon. Is your pet poorly too?

hillary · 18/03/2007 19:44

I could if I was a member but I never enroled myself I cant do any more tonight I just want to cry. I will take them first thing in the morning.

I went to my GP yesterday and he told me I was waisting his time I'm going to get him by his balls and swing him around the room if i had the energy

How did you manage to get a close-to-lethal dose?? This stuff seems to be recommended for regular use!!

hillary · 18/03/2007 19:52

Bucketsofdymomite

How long did it take for your aunt to get better?

OP posts:
danceswithaSPRINGinherstep · 18/03/2007 19:52

The GP said you were wasting his time. Seriously?! What did he say about the fact that you were struggling to breathe?

lulumama · 18/03/2007 19:53

i cannot believe you were sold this for domestic use if it is so dangerous...do you have a DP / DH at home...i;d be back at A&E asking for oxygen....
