Had my wisdom tooth took out today because it was infected now my throats appears to be swollen I am in so much pain . Do you think I should call911?

I would say yes OP, just because the infection could be spreading. Not wanting to alarm you of course ....but best to get some advice...

Even if it's just for some advice on pain relief.

My ds had a tooth out today and was given a guide about what to do if? Have you been given something similar OP?

Yes I have followed it to the letter just feel my breathing isn't right . My throats feels tight . Pain is unbearable

What pain relief have you tried?

Does sound like you need to be seen. If you're in the UK try 111? They can give you some good advice and steer you in the right direction.

I think you need to be seen. Is there a minor injuries or a walk-in centre near you?

Please ring now rather than later. A colleague's throat closed up due to an infection and she needed to be hospitalised for a while. It's an urgent thing.

Call them or get a taxi to the nearest minor injuries unit OP for you might need antibiotics and extra pain relief

If you call the NHS they will let you know the right service for teeth xx there is an emergency tooth service my dentist told me xx

Hi just an update my throats doesn't feel so swollen I just feel like my whole mouth is aching I am on my second lot of antibiotics and just clock watching to see when I can take next painkillers.

Do you know what the problem is? Is it just your throat or for you have dry socket or something else?

There can be lots of swelling and bruising. Does the care sheet say you can gently rinse/gargle with salt water? It helps reduce swelling. Don't disturb the clot though!

And do you know how to use paracetamol and ibuprofen together?

Don't think dry socket comes on this quick . Yes am taking ibrufon and paracetamol and gurgling with salt water and corosydone . My face tooth ear and throat are really hurting but throats doesn't feel like it's closing like it did last night.

Well, hopefully each day will be a bit better. That must have been frightening- lying down makes it worse, I think.

I got dry socket within 24 hours as there was no clot. Painkillers do not work on that until about day 5, but it sounds like you have other things going on. Don't discount it though. If it is that then a dentist can pack it for you which really brings relief. I really feel for you. I've had 2 wisdom teeth out this year and it's been awful.

Feminax ultra is naproxen that's OTC it's stronger then ibrufen. Tramadol is pretty strong.

I would ring especially with the throat thing. Dry socket is supposed to be nasty.

I have slept in a chair for a week now as I can't lay down. They gave me antibiotics last Sunday. Then took tooth out Friday .
I think last night the tramadol with ibrufon paracetamol and antibiotics was too many pills , especially as I can't eat much.
Praying I can sleep tonight and thus throbbing stops.

Clove oil applied on a cotton bud is fantastic. Also an ice pack will numb it.
