Had my wisdom tooth took out today because it was infected now my throats appears to be swollen I am in so much pain . Do you think I should call911?

Can't find my clove oil anywhere . Will try an ice pack although cold things seems to make it worse.

Is it not bad to put cold compresses on? Or is that heat?

Sorry just checked it's not dry socket it's something else ignore that.

I think it's no heat as it can cause bacteria to thrive.

Audrey this threads been about a while it's written by a well respected mnetter who is a dentist. I don't have time to go through it properly but there might be some advice that helps

Hope you get some sleep, I wouldn't wish toothache on my worst enemy.

Thanks everyone have just managed two hours sleep the pain has woke me up again. More pills for me hopefully it's going.

Is it from the socket and radiating through jaw up to ear?

If so I'd ring 111 and try and see an emergency dentist today but you might struggle. There are videos on YouTube in how to pack it yourself with Clove oil. Assuming it's dry socket. It's the only thing that takes the pain away as there are bone and nerves exposed that need covering.

Hi sorrel yes it's earache and toothache seeing one ar 1230 today . Hopefully they will pack it for me . Will also buy cloveoil

Brilliant news! I've had it TWICE. If they pack it keep the packing in and top it up with drops of clove oil. It really is good. Also keep numbing with the ice packs. Ime the painkillers start to work at about day 5 so you can manage it then. The whole thing lasts about ten days, but becomes more manageable. Do anything you can to aid recovery: even slim fast type drinks for the vitamins, assuming you're not eating solids.

This is all advice from my own dentists by the way. They may want to pack it every couple of days.

I ended up there yesterday with post surgery pain. I was seen and given a prescription.

I would class debilitating pain as urgent.

It's just unfortunate it's over the weekend. I only have teeth out on a Monday now! I've had 2 months of dental pain which has gone. I'm now on to cystitis. Rubbish year for health so far. You'll feel better knowing what it is. It will end but it is all consuming. You've been lucky to get an appointment. Report back as loads of people search these threads when they're desperate and suffering similar. Good luck.

Hi she dressed it which has helped although still got toothache and bad headache but hopefully will go soon.
