Chlamydia - where has it can't from?

ForeverLivingMyArse · 02/02/2017 18:15

Last week I had a medical termination and as part of the procedure they test for STI and I was swabbed for chlamydia. I got a Cahill today too say I tested positive for chlamydia.

Dh and I have been together 12 years, no other sexual partners in this time. I was last tested 3 years ago when pregnant and was clear.

I have not cheated and I am 100% sure he hasn't. Not a doubt is in my mind about that. He works, eats and sleeps and thats about it!

Neither of us have had any symptoms, nothing.

I've got a line to get the anti b for both of us but I'm puzzled as to where it's came from.

Everything I read says sexually transmitted only.

The nursery mentioned anal chlamydia that might have transferred to my vagina?

Any ideas?

You are very naive if you don't want to know that chlamydia is an STI. You did not get it at the supermarket Hmm

So it's either a false positive or one of you has gotten it through sex and given it to the other.

Have a nice life being naive.

FearTheLiving · 02/02/2017 21:16

I was EXACTLY like this about my ex Grin
He was cheating on me all through my pregnancy and gave me and baby something much worse than chlamydia.
You're incredibly naive.

BoobleMcB · 02/02/2017 21:16

I wonder if we'll find out what happened

Bloggybollocks · 02/02/2017 21:22

If the worlds most perfect husband has been doing a lot more than 'watching the discovery channel' I doubt the OP will return to update us 'idiots'.....

ForeverLivingMyArse · 02/02/2017 21:23

I'm a week post a medical termination and feeling pretty whack. For obvious reasons family and friends aren't aware of that, it's a private matter. Given that the situation we're in now is only as a result of that termination I don't have a pool of people to bounce this off which is why I've posted here.

Happy to keep you updated bobble if you're so invested. There's maybe a lesson for you here to not plough in with an attitude more suited to other parts of this forum just because it appears in active. There's lots of sensitive topics here. I opted for health to avoid a pile on. But that's what I got. Cheers for that.

I'm not naive.

I know it is an STI

I just know he hasn't cheated.

I've said what's happening, I've thanked the useful contributions. Ill respectfully request you (collective) refrain from sticking the boot in, sly digs and eye rolls. I sought as vice, got that advice and am acting on it.

Play your games elsewhere.

OP posts:
FearTheLiving · 02/02/2017 21:25

But you don't know he hasn't cheated at all. Unless you have him handcuffed to you 24/7. Ita a very naive thing to say.

ForeverLivingMyArse · 02/02/2017 21:26

Aren't you just hilarious bloggy?

How would you like your updates? Screen shots of results? Will we go Facebook live for you? Really, check yourself. Would you be a dick like that to someone standing in front of you?

OP posts:
BoobleMcB · 02/02/2017 21:27

I don't feel I have been particularly untoward at all (obviously I replied to a pp about a book being written a la Mary and Joseph, but obviously that was in jest)

I really hope it is a case of a false positive but if it isn't, you have to accept the alternative

ForeverLivingMyArse · 02/02/2017 21:27

Really Fear? That's what you took from that post? Have you always lacked empathy or is it a recent thing?

I'm certain. That's all you need to concern yourself with for the sake of this thread. If I'm wrong will you be pleased you were right?

OP posts:
Bloggybollocks · 02/02/2017 21:30

I'm not bothered about an update? Keep your business private if you think you're not going to like the replies. If a friend of mine had an sti then yes, of course I'd assume one of them had slept with someone else. The clue is in the name 'sexually' transmitted diesese. Statistically it's far more likely to be that than a mixed up test result isn't it?

catinbooots · 02/02/2017 21:30

OP it's a bit off to call people idiots and get all lairy - when all they are doing is pointing out scientific facts Hmm

What did you think people would say?

Bloggybollocks · 02/02/2017 21:32

You don't really sound in a great place OP, you're angry at all the wrong people for all the wrong things. I'd close this thread and concentrate on getting some answers and getting yourself back on your feet again.

Frouby · 02/02/2017 21:32

Foreverliving if it can be transmitted via eyes have you used anyones eye makeup? Anyone used yours? In the last 3 years?

I am sorry you are going through this, and dealing with a termination too. It must be very difficult. I understand you saying you know your dp hasn't cheated. I know mine wouldn't/couldn't either.

I hope you get to the bottom of it all. Flowers

ForeverLivingMyArse · 02/02/2017 21:33

There's only so long you can chip away at someone guys.

OP posts:
ForeverLivingMyArse · 02/02/2017 21:35

Thanks frouby

I'm not sure a vag swab would show if it was my eye that had been infected would it? But yes, shared make up lots over the past few years.

OP posts:
gamerchick · 02/02/2017 21:42

OP go for a full screen, send your dude as well just to put the whole thing to bed. It'll eat away at you otherwise.

And don't share eye makeup with anyone in future, our eyes are precious.

Frouby · 02/02/2017 21:43

I don't know. Have you had any infection in your eyes? Like conjunctivitis? I have it atm and I have been careful about hand washing but it's been 5 days now so probably have at some point touched my eye then wiped after a wee. We dtd the other night. Dp could have touched my face/eye then vag. I could have touched his penis and given it him etc etc.

I didn't know that you could get chlamydia in your eyes until I started googling conjunctivitis. I think if you are as sure as you can be that your dh hasn't cheated and it is chlamydia then assume its come from sharing make up.

Don't share make up! I hate it! And replace eye make up anyway if it comes back positive.

HopelesslydevotedtoGu · 02/02/2017 21:43

I would definitely request a repeat test if you haven't taken the antibiotics already, and get dh tested too. It might turn out to just be a simple error eg wrong patient label put on the pot.

ForeverLivingMyArse · 02/02/2017 21:45

I have had a couple of conjunctivitis infections over the last couple of years. I got drops for it. I was surprised as I thought conjunctivitis was always gunky sticky eyes but it wasn't like that, my eyes were dry and itchy. Optician explained what it was and gave me drops.

LikeTheShoes · 02/02/2017 21:46

I met someone at a foam party at uni who got Chlamydia in her eye that night (it put me off going to foam parties!) Did you have any antibiotics before (your previous test 3 years ago) which could have cleared it up when you were tested then you got reinfected after? I hope you've not suffered any damage as a result. It sounds like you have a really positive, trusting relationship and as you're the one who knows your DH best I believe you if you believe him!

ForeverLivingMyArse · 02/02/2017 21:48

We don't have the antibiotics yet so will go for another test, him too. He is going to the clinic first thing as he's working nearby. I'll go when he's finished work. He's genuinely as taken aback as I am. If it's not many clearer after that it's back to the drawing board.

OP posts:
Frouby · 02/02/2017 21:48

Well there you go then. Logical explaination.

You borrowed some eyeliner from someone who has chlamydia. Gave it your eyes. Transferred from eyes to vag.

Like miss fucking marples me. Get retested. Get your dh tested. Take any treatment. Replace make up. Job done Wine

ForeverLivingMyArse · 02/02/2017 21:50

No I've not had any antibiotics for anything in years.

The club we used to frequent in our youth had foam parties every few months, I'm sure it was to clean the carpets! Grin

Jenbob13 · 02/02/2017 21:53

LOL! Its like the old "can you get pregnant from a toilet seat".
Chlamidya is a sexually transmitted infection. If that test comes back positive a second time, its not a case of "where has it come from". Its a case of "who has shagged around". Because it really is that simple.

ForeverLivingMyArse · 02/02/2017 21:53

Fourby case closed... next! Grin
