Fifty sit-ups a day club

Well, ab-crunches, really - I doubt I could do even one proper sit-up at the moment .

I'm starting with
10 forward
10 oblique to one side
10 oblique to the other side
10 forward
10 backward (ie draped forward over a ball and lifting my upper body up. Not technically an abs exercise, but still core body.)

Any joiners?

I read that as five at first, and was going to join. Fifty? Barking I tell you, barking!

LittleBoSheep · 12/01/2007 10:24

Would love to but at the point in the day when I would have the time I would no longer have the energy

RnBee · 12/01/2007 10:24

yes will join too!

fizzbuzz · 12/01/2007 10:25

And me....I just posted about this about 5 days ago

PrettyCandles · 12/01/2007 10:26

OK Q, how about changing it to '50 situps a week'? Then you could do 10 a day, and have a rest on the weekend.

The title is optimistic I grant you. But if we do what we can, and then report back every day, it will (hopefully) give us the incentive to actually do the situps, and then maybe even increase the number of situps.

Started mine on Wednesday - managed 6 sets of 10 including obliques. Could relly feel it yesterday so had a rest, will do again today. Must remember to do back strengthening exercises too as lower back was sore yesterday. Good luck!

SSShakeTheChi · 12/01/2007 10:28

Make it 100 a day and I'll join in for some reason that motivates me more than 50!

fizzbuzz · 12/01/2007 13:09

Had dd 6 months ago, but c-section scar still hurts during sit ups.....Is this normal?

costababe · 12/01/2007 13:13

hi will join in if i may, am now 2lbs off my target weight, and need to do a bit more exercise for my stomach, need advise on lower back strenghtening exercises if any one knows some?

weepootleflump · 12/01/2007 13:15

Count me in! I'm going for 50 press-ups a day as well

weepootleflump · 12/01/2007 13:17

Hi costababe, have you tried dorsal raises? I always do the same amount of dorsals as I do sit-ups to balance it out.

fizzbuzz · 12/01/2007 13:21

What's a dorsal raise?

PrettyCandles · 12/01/2007 18:16

Do as many as you like, and come and report here when you've done them.

I still havent' got around to doing mine today .

OP posts:
weepootleflump · 12/01/2007 18:29

fizzbuzz, a dorsal raise is where you lie face down and raise your legs and shoulders off the floor. If that's difficult try just lifting shoulders, keeping arms down by your side

ballbaby · 12/01/2007 18:43

Will join you - would like a washboard stomach ready for my holiday in 6 weeks! [dream on emoticon]!

Rumpel · 13/01/2007 08:46

Managed 100 yesterday - back lifts, tricep dips and stretches too.

fizzbuzz · 13/01/2007 09:57

Did mine last night, and have been doing then for about 5 days, hope you are all sticking at it....

How long till you see an improvemant?

fizzbuzz · 13/01/2007 09:58

Grrrr improvement even!

2sprogsmum · 13/01/2007 10:04

I'll join you guys. I must say though, I was doing 50-100 situps a day about 6 months ago, and it did not make one jot of difference to my flabby tummy. Maybe I didn't perservere long enough?

fizzbuzz · 13/01/2007 10:06

How long did you do them for?!!!

2sprogsmum · 13/01/2007 15:34

about 3 weeks , I could feel my stomach underneath the flab getting firmer and tighter, but the flab stayed put!

PrettyCandles · 14/01/2007 14:36

Did today's lot.

I know it won't get rid of the flab, but at least - if I can keep going - eventually the flab will be a few centimeters closer to me!

SSShakeTheChi · 15/01/2007 10:22

You mean you've all STARTED already?!

kittylette · 15/01/2007 10:24

go on ill have a go, but not all at once

if i did that id have to dial '99' on my phone and train DS to hit the last '9' if mummy passes out

SSShakeTheChi · 15/01/2007 10:25

Why doesn't it get rid of the flab though?
