Jennster · 04/03/2007 22:10

Little bathroom = cheaper bathroom. I'm also not going to gloat until it's fitted and tiled and working and hopefully before baby born. We had a kitchen fitted and the decorator left 2 days before I went into labour.

worleythewisp · 05/03/2007 03:03

hello all, im not an insomniac im on night duty.
this is my first break scince 7pm, i was soooo looking forward to some sleep in my oncall room, but so far i've been to theatre twice , had rta's and prisoners in. i even had to call my second on call person in to help. the surgeon told me off as it has been busy all weekend and as its my first night duty back i have jinxed it apprentley.

worleythewisp · 05/03/2007 03:05

anyway, im now going to sit down for a while, they have started a new internet rule and we are only allowed 30 mins of internet time a day now how unfair is that, so in the night when we have no patients we have nothing left to do now....and im not bloody cleaning at 3 in the morning. they have cleaners specially to do that. (now i sound like a snob) i've been up scince 6am and not about to clean instead of sleeping (or msnetting)

byeeeeeeeeeeeee
or night night

VoodooChickenhead · 05/03/2007 10:27

poor worley x

I just went to post office...and a man walked right past me shouting 'f* off God'
and I thought I was about to be stabbed {pooed my pants}
then on the way back I saw a man get knocked off his bike by a car! didnt want to stop and help him because I had dd with me, but others were stopping so he wasnt on his own. Dramatic Monday!

Jennster · 05/03/2007 12:19

Oh dear. Been up since 5.30 this morning and 5 yesterday morning as some unsavoury characters are stealing stuff from the bins at the charity shop over the road. They've made a hell of a mess and a hell of a noise. I've given up complaining about it. Was in tears on their doorstep this morning.

DeputyMacDawg · 05/03/2007 17:28

You all sound as if your days are going bad to worse.
I hated night shifts, Worley. Bog all to do, and all night to do it in.

I had lovely morning at M&T (mainly cos dd pootles about on her own and we meet up at snack time) then went to my mum's for the afternoon.
Peeing down with rain now, and the wind's are getting fierce.
But I don't care cos I'm indoors .

As for shoes, I'm a fan of kids staying in soft shoes until they really have to.
She's quite happy in her Tesco sannies for the moment (luckily)!

Catch up later

Jennster · 05/03/2007 18:51

I agree about shoes, although I did get dd some 'crawler shoes' the other day. I love the soft ones from green baby. What are the tesco ones like. Are they expensive? DD growing out of her 6-12 month soon and I'm loathe to pay the green baby prices again.

Jennster · 05/03/2007 18:53

Good news about those bins though. The other neighbours have been complaining for a couple of years about the problems with people raiding them at night. I however went in first thing this morning and cried and they are getting rid of them all together.

DeputyMacDawg · 06/03/2007 09:19

dd has
1 pair of Ladybird pink flowery sandshoes from Woolworths
1 pair dark denim/pink trim velcro fastening shoes and 1 pair grey baseball boots both from Tesco.
They all come in at under £5 each.
I don't want her in hard soles until she is walking outdoors. At the moment her shoes are mainly to keep her feet warm by keeping her socks in place!!
I realise that everyone has differing views on this, though

VoodooChickenhead · 06/03/2007 15:23

yeah, dd never worn shoes as I bought her some pram bootees off ebay but they just fall straight off (waste of wonga)
went to her 8mth developmental check this morning...what a total waste of time. Yes she can hold her head up, no she hasnt got any teeth, goodbye.
she is 16lb 12oz, that was the only new thing I learned...

how often do you all bathe your dc's? dd has one about every three days and it seems to be fine.

any carseat recommendations for the 9mths+ agegroup? that is the next purchase to make

my sis is exhausted and sick of being pg...she doesnt know whats going to hit her!!

Jennster · 06/03/2007 17:04

Well Ikea was surprisingly civilised. No bun fights. Bought this for dd. She LOVES it.

My friend has a ds who is a week younger than dd. She said from the start that hard soled shoes were bad for the feet, yet has had him in crawler shoes for months and months .....AND he isn't even crawling.......never mind walking. He can stand and push stuff around mind but even so he's been in these horrid shoes for AGES. Probably stopping him from crawling!

Jennster · 06/03/2007 17:16

Sorry voodoo missed the carseat question. We have 2 cars and unfortunately have to have 2 carseats, as I drop off and dh picks up from nursery. First one we bought was a maxicozi priori xp and cost £116 in sale at Halfords and lasts until 4 or was that 6 years.. The second one was a group 123 one from Halfords that cost £139 but will last until dd is 12. here

My friend has a Vauxhall Zafira, and the ONLY seat that fitted was a Fisherprice seat that cost a bargain £40 odd quid.

VoodooChickenhead · 06/03/2007 20:46

I hate buying car seats.

Im changing my car in Sept but need to buy a seat for my current one nextmonth, so god knows what I am going to do.

How are you feeliing with that preggers tummy!!

Jennster · 06/03/2007 21:00

Not too bad thanks Voodoo. The size 14 jeans I bought post baby to tide me over 'til I could get back into my prebaby jeans are just starting to get tight. Can't wear them all day.

Am a football widow tonight. Dh has 3 mates round so I get the computer all to myself.

Having a panic about organising a babysitter for a week on Sunday. My sister bought us tickets to see Buena Vista Social Club and my mum said she would babysit. Problem is she is having a gynae op on the Thur or Friday before and won't be let out until the Saturday and I don't want her lifting dd.

Jennster · 06/03/2007 21:01

What sort of car are you thinking of getting?

Jennster · 06/03/2007 21:02

Bugger need to find my tweezers. Ones which haven't been used to excavate veruccas. My eyebrows are in desparate need.

DeputyMacDawg · 06/03/2007 21:39

Eeeew Jennster! (tweezers, not fabby IKEA seat )

Voods, we got the Maxi-Cosi priori XP for dd's Christmas (£100 at local baby shop)

Off for a nice hot bath now

Jennster · 06/03/2007 21:40

Voodoo will understand about the tweezers

VoodooChickenhead · 07/03/2007 16:03

.....i use nail scissors not my beloved tweezers...

I took dd to the park today for the first time as it was so sunny...she loved the swings and we both got dizzy on the roundabout.

VoodooChickenhead · 07/03/2007 16:05

second hand audi a3 or a golf. Ive always wanted a golf. one with five doors about 1.3 or 1.6 petrol engine. nippy, spacious safe, but not too big or fast, id only wrap it round a tree.

VoodooChickenhead · 07/03/2007 16:05

not 1.3, 1.4 minimum

VoodooChickenhead · 07/03/2007 16:07

i got jamie olivers red nose cookbook for £3. the recipes are really good!

still keeping to my healthy eating plan...I have so many pairs of jeans and combats that will fit me soon......

Im 5'9'' and 14stone 3 pounds

I want to be 11/12 stone ASAP.

DeputyMacDawg · 07/03/2007 16:48

Went a bit Britney today, girls.

Ran into hairdresser and got my hair cut short and choppy.
Love it
Just waiting for dh getting home from work now........

I'll post piccies when I can.
I'm a big fat heifer, so not disclosing my weight

Jennster · 07/03/2007 17:09

am 5'10 but 12 stone and a bit I think and 20 weeks pregnant woo hooo.

Dh has a 3 door A3. Don't get a 3 door whatever you do! It's a pain in the bum to get children in and out of.

Am tempted to get short hair too. All I do with mine is tie it back, and have finally got rid of highlights so back to mucky light brown colour.

Had scan today. Saw my active little sprog. Placenta is high so no probs with a home birth. We didn't find out the sex but radiographer wrote it down on a piece of paper and sealed it in an envelope.

Off to Liverpool tomorrow morning to see my sis. We're going shopping, then having lunch. Will be 29 tomorrow!
