------------ MY HUSBAND IS MISSING ---- Last Seen Macclesfield

choosyfloosy · 02/12/2006 15:11

Hi, I'm a long-term Mnetter but have changed my name recently.

My husband left the house (in Oxford) at 4pm on Thursday saying he was going to put petrol in the car. I haven't seen him since. He has spoken to his brother, most recently at 7am on Friday 1 Dec. His car has been found in Macclesfield and he was last seen at a chip shop in Macclesfield at 4pm on Friday. He has an illness and came off his medication 3 weeks ago.

The police etc are on the case, but I'm a great believer in pursuing all avenues. If you have any information, please post it here or call the National Missing Persons Helpline free on 0500 700 700. Also please, if you live in the area, please talk about it to people you meet. Someone MUST have seen him.

My husband is 6.4 with grey/black hair (think George Clooney) and very strong features with large deepset eyes. He is probably wearing glasses and may not have shaved for 3 days or so. He is probably also very warmly dressed.

Thanks x

and hes probably right

dh has been missign 53 hours and this is his 3rd night away, probably 2nd night sleeping rough, or is he? just don't know. everything the police say seems to beg another question. he does have his wallet with him but has not drawn out money since friday - but i'm not sure if that means there hav been no transactions.

Have bumped your other thread, what a nightmare for you choosy. I do hope he comes home soon, or at the least lets you know where he is.

busybusymum · 02/12/2006 22:54

Hope you hear soon

mrspoppins · 02/12/2006 23:33

I'm sure you have done all of this already but try local TV newsroom and ask if they'll run this story. Contact all papers in the surrounding areas too to cover all bases.Contact all psychiatric hospitals and A&E departments with a photo of your husband. They will not be allowed to tell you if he has been there, but could offer him the chance to talk to the missing person's helpline in order to send you a message that he is well but needs to be on his own for a while.

Just a thought...looking at night is easier as there are fewer people around.

I will think of you often
with much love xxx

jampots · 02/12/2006 23:48

choosy can i just ask if you checked online banking for transactions. quite often they dont appear for a couple of days - cash withdrawal on the other hand is immediate. I hope he has bought some bits with debit card or credit card to keep him ticking over - at least it will keep the trail warm.

are you able to tell us where you have family/friends or any other contacts where he may go/places that hold good memories for him for instance. Why Macclesfield for instance?

myrrhthamoo · 02/12/2006 23:48

I'm in Macclesfield, choosyfloosy - I've had a good look at your dh's photo on the other thread.

I hope you find him soon - it must be agony.

Hope you hear something soon

FredBassett · 03/12/2006 09:02

We frequently have missing people requests emailed to all of the Hoteliers/B&B owners up here (Blackpool). If you think it may help you can email Karen at [email protected] it's the Blackpool Hotel & Guesthouse Association - they can do an email shot to all of the members to keep an eye out. Maybe contact the peak district or Manchester tourist information and see if they could do the same for their Hoteliers.

I really hope you here news soon, take care

mrsnoah · 03/12/2006 09:17

Hope he comes back soon.
We will all watch out for someone fitting that description.
