And why? Sorry to ask, but I really don't want to go back on the pill (and dh doesn't want me to either) and I'm not sure how to approach this - I've got 2 boys, (12 weeks and 2yrs) and I'm breastfeeding, but need to address this before our luck runs out!

nothing, just the pull out an dhope for the best

SpaceCadet · 15/09/2006 16:36

im afraid to admit that before dh and i split, it was the pull out and hope for the best..method.

expatinscotland · 15/09/2006 16:37

It's more common than you think, SC, b/c there just isn't a lot of decent stuff out there that's not chock full of hormones for the woman or a faff. or expensive.

I mean, VAT on condoms?! WTF?!

cece · 15/09/2006 16:38

Not always that relible though ...

beckybrastraps · 15/09/2006 16:40

God, I NEVER hope for the best. I am very strict about contraception!

Good catholic girl that I am

expatinscotland · 15/09/2006 16:40

We're just not very fertile, so that sort of helps.

JustaName · 15/09/2006 16:41

In order of frequency:

Withdrawal
Rhytmn
Condoms

Actually condoms only ever come out once a quarter.

Probably not what you are looking for though

PandaG · 15/09/2006 16:52

DH has had a vasectomy. Before that, the pill, at various times mini pill and combined pill. Condoms in between children.

Vasectomy is great!

3andnomore · 15/09/2006 20:23

I have the Implanon Implanty, and am all in all very happy with that...other then the constant bleeding, well...not constant but about a week on and off...but am hoping it will settle down eventually!
I din't want to take the pill anymore, as I would not remember it nowadays, and well, the Implant works for 3 years, and that basically gives us enough time to make a decison on dh having the snip...although, I think he is trying to get out of it...I keep asking if he has seen anyone about it, and he keeps saying...oh I didn't realise that you did decide you did not want anymore Kids...hm...well...have been saying for a year now, am pretty sure, as sure as I ever can be that I do NOT want anymore, lol....I think I might have to shock him out of it and pretend I am broody and want more, lol!

geekgrrl · 15/09/2006 20:27

PMSL at the idea of this being a delicate question.
'Delicate' was the one about incontinence following anal sex.

Oh, and it's vasectomy for us.

Blandmum · 15/09/2006 20:28

I have been sterilised

In the past I have used
The pill
The coil
The diaphragm
The mini pill
Very occasionaly the condom

All were ok.

I feel that the diaphragm is a very under rated method, particulrly if you are in a staeady relationship and a PG wouldn't be a disaster....a family spacing device, rather than a 100% baby preventing device IYSWIM. We found it much better than the condom

Sophiev73 · 15/09/2006 20:29

Ok Ok I'm a bit of a prude maybe?? Was royally stunned by some of the posts on the anal awaful, thread as you can imagine!! Enid Blyton girl to my roots...

notasheep · 15/09/2006 20:32

sex once a month

mosschops30 · 15/09/2006 20:32

I have the mirena coil and its the best thing i ever did, no periods, no hassle, I love it.
Previously used the pill but had to be taken off due to migraines

Sophiev73 · 15/09/2006 20:34

psml MartianBishop! Only if there's salt in a twist of paper from the farmer's wife... Maybe 'farmer's wife' is some interesting sexual pratise. Oh God see what you've done to me??

i cannot understand why any one pays for condoms. DP and I did for years until one day i said 'whatever happened to free family planning' so we went - found a clinic and dp got a massive bag full of every type of johnny you could dream up and was told ' come back when you want'
so they are FREE...just find out where.
we use condoms have done for 15 years - no accidents and we are very fertile. LOVE them !

Sophiev73 · 15/09/2006 20:40

Am feeling inspired by all this condom usage. I honestly thought we were past it but dammit! Will give them a go! Then probably give up and get a coil...or nothing at all!

OP posts:
Blandmum · 15/09/2006 20:42

The diapragm is almost as effective as the condom and you can wang it in before you start to 'do the deed' Neither of you should feel that it is there

Sophiev73 · 15/09/2006 20:43

Love the verb 'wang'. But what about spontaneous moments?

OP posts:
poppiesinaline · 15/09/2006 20:44

We used the withdrawal for a while (pill doesnt agree with me and DH refuses to use condoms). Didnt fancy coil.

Then once we used the 'oh it'll be ok this time cos I'm having AF' and ooooopss baby no 3!!

So DH was promptly sent off for the snip.

Blandmum · 15/09/2006 20:45

You can put it in every night if you like, on the off chance...mind you that rather felt like taking your harp to the party and no-one asking you to play

You can still stop and wang it in....doesn't take any longer than a condom

NotAnOtter · 15/09/2006 20:46

condoms are fine and are they not a 'healthy'option?

Sophiev73 · 15/09/2006 20:46

Poppies what AF?
