And why? Sorry to ask, but I really don't want to go back on the pill (and dh doesn't want me to either) and I'm not sure how to approach this - I've got 2 boys, (12 weeks and 2yrs) and I'm breastfeeding, but need to address this before our luck runs out!

Expat you have my admiration or rather your dp/dh does... That requires some stamina!

DD was born 4 years ago, we haven't used anything since. Not had any accidents yet. It wouldn't be the end of the world if I got pg again, but it wouldn't be majorly convenient either. I can't use any sort of hormonal contraception for health reasons, and tbh none of the alternatives are that great either. The 'pull out and hope for the best' approach has been fine so far. FWIW, we had no probs with conceiving our (planned) DD, but I also don;t think we're superfertile either.

intergalacticwalrus · 15/09/2006 16:08

I want DP to have the snip too, I went through 2 CSs to give him kids, so he can do his bit too

I bet he won;t get one though, as he's 32, and obvioulsy incapable of making a desicion for himself about whether he wants more children or not.

I've just had a mirena coil fitted and so far it's great. Husband is a gp and he worked out that it is cost effective after a year which was a surprise for us. It is uncomfortable being inserted but as I had 2 sections that's not surprising. I had an afternoon of discomfort following it but now I'm fine (fitted last Friday). Not sure if it's associated but my mood feels much better! You can have a mirena while you are feeding as I've looked into having it inserted after the birth of a baby (we're thinking of trying for another one in a year or so) and they would do it during the section which would be good news for me!

nailpolish · 15/09/2006 16:08

ndp, thats precisely how dd1 and dd2 were conceived

Copper coil. Can't do hormones and don't trust any barrier methods (very very fertile)

NomDePlume · 15/09/2006 16:10

lol np, maybe a 4th would be nice.....

............

expatinscotland · 15/09/2006 16:14

W/drawal was the most unmessy, too, I've found.

Sophiev73 · 15/09/2006 16:16

Now you've introduced a whole new line of thinking... Had not considered mess/lack of before!!

Yasmin Pill

Have found it to be fab!

Sophiev73 · 15/09/2006 16:21

What's different about the Yasmin pill Tamba? Never heard of it.

shazronnie · 15/09/2006 16:21

I am on mini pill micronor.

used withdrawal after DS1, but the one time we left it in iykwim we got DS2.

I also use marmite - DH won't come near me if I eat it for supper!!!!!

intergalacticwalrus · 15/09/2006 16:22

I got pg on Yasmin. And micronor.

Never taking the pill ever again.

beckybrastraps · 15/09/2006 16:22

Condoms. I hate taking the pill, the thought of having a coil inserted makes me feel faint and if we had to wait for me to put in a diaphragm we would be resorting to abstinence. We are very fertile, but no accidents yet (touch wood).

Once I finally face up to the fact that we are not having any more, ds will be booking his vasectomy.

Sophiev73 · 15/09/2006 16:23

lol marmite! May try similar with rib'n'spicy nik naks. Yes I know they're bad...but dh goes green when he smells them.

TheBlonde · 15/09/2006 16:24

Dh has no skill with condoms. None at all. Neither do I.

OP posts:
beckybrastraps · 15/09/2006 16:27

Skill?!

Sophiev73 · 15/09/2006 16:29

Believe me, there's a skill. I cannot tell you how many times we really couldn't do it between us. And I have to teach sex ed at school.. Mind you, that's putting one on a courgette.

beckybrastraps · 15/09/2006 16:30

Well I never. I shall infom dh. He'll be very proud of himself.

As long as it's the right size, it shouldn't be too difficult.

Practice, practice, practice!

Try practicing in the dark, too.

Sophiev73 · 15/09/2006 16:32

Soph hangs head in shame and goes off to wake ds1 in need of something to take her mind off it..
