Zombie needs her limbs holding

With Zombie's permission, I'm starting this thread

As many of you know she has had a hideous time through her treatment for cancer.

At the point where she was maybe out of the woods she has been asked to see her surgeon on Friday. Unexpectedly

Can we all squeeze her together so her limbs don't go flailing
and do what we vipers do best?

I cannot bear the thought of her going through all the treatment s again after coming out of it before

Prayers, fingers crossing or whatever welcome right now

The appointment letter for Friday arrived in today's post. The biopsy procedure will be a Stereo Core Biopsy.

It was a Core Biopsy that diagnosed the cancer in my right breast. No mammographic imaging was required that time as the lumps were palpable. So at least I know exactly what to expect from that part of the procedure.

When I previously had DCIS in the left breast I had to undergo a Wire Localisation Biopsy. That involved about an hour with the breast in the mammography machine while they took a series of images to locate the microcalcifications and position the tip of the wire in the centre of the affected area. I was then whisked up to theatre for an operation to excise the tissue. I am extremely grateful that technology has moved on so much in the last 21 years.

How long between biopsy and results? I will be waving my horsey scarf for you x

I'm not sure, Chris. My surgeon's clinic is on Fridays. So, I expect either Friday, 28th March or Friday, 4th April. I imagine she will get the biopsy results fairly quickly but I think she will want to see me herself instead of one of her registrars giving me the news. So it may also depend on the rota for her clinic.

I hope you get to see her yourself, a conversation like that would be better with someone you know. Hope it goes as well as it can

It was more uncomfortable than painful, Exit. The only time I nearly fainted was when I looked down and saw this enormous metallic scaffolding doodah attached to the breast.

when is your appointment?

I'm sure you've all seen at least one of the many threads about the selfies. I have posted on a couple explaining why I don't support this. My opinion has changed since people have actually started to say why they are posting it and following that up with proof that they have actually donated to charity because of it.

My thanks to Zombie for posting the pic. We need to tear down that wall of belief that there is anything 'shameful' in post-mastectomy breasts.
