Sorry to be bearing bad news but my Onc has told me I have a limited time due to things quickly changing and growing faster than anticipated along with the having chemo that didn't do anything but make me very ill.

I have been in a very nice new hospice for the last 3 weeks but am now home. Here's where you come in, I have a couple of months at best and I
need some nice songs I want a humanist ceremony so no religious ones please. Again sorry to ask x

My dad has i want to know what live is by foreigner and I can hear music by the beach boys.
I read "remember me" by Christina Rosetti.
The last lines are what I beleive dad would have said if he could...
"If you should forget me for a while, and afterwards remember, do not grieve.
For if the darkness and corruption leave a vestige of the thoughts that I once had,
Better by far you should forget and smile,
Than that you should remember and be sad"
X

So sorry Earth Mother.

At my darling friend's funeral we played "Magic" by Ben Folds. It is terribly sad but also beautiful- acknowledging the loss but also that they will always be with you.

This version is the one she chose

I listen to the original version a lot and it always makes me think of her.

Sometimesiwonder · 28/08/2013 21:57

Earth- I can't think of anything better than anything that has already been suggested, but I just wanted to say I am gutted for you and your family. I had such high hopes that you would be OK.

I hope you are comfortable and with your loved ones. Your sense of humour is still shining through - you are really remarkable. Much love from me. Xxxx

CurlyFox · 29/08/2013 23:08

Emin I'm so sorry to hear this I've just read through your
posts in tears and wanted to tell you what an inspirational woman you are.

Figgyroll · 29/08/2013 23:13

Emin, thinking of you and your family.

Indeed, you are a remarkable, inspirational and much loved woman. xxxxx

Ineedanewone · 31/08/2013 23:18

Hello EMIN,
Sending you love and light, you seem such a humble person, but you have touched the lives and held the hands of so many people. You are an inspiration xx

duchesse · 02/09/2013 16:09

Oh Earth I am so sorry that your time here on earth is so limited. I remember seeing you on here first when you were hugging a tiny crack-addicted baby and asking for advice, and thinking you were amazing. I hope this time ahead of you is as peaceful and filled with laughs as it can be.

Matildathecat · 02/09/2013 16:37

How terribly sad.

I love Lou Reed's Perfect Day. Also Amazing Grace, though it is religious.

Wishing you peace and calm.xx

So sorry to hear this EMIN, I too remember the admiration I felt for you with your fosterchild and I still feel that for you now. You will leave a legacy of love when you go.

Wishing you the best of everything.

fanjodisfunction · 02/09/2013 17:09

emin I've seen you around the boards and heard about you too. I hope your days are filled with love and laughter.

I'm not sure my taste is music is the same as yours, I would have Queen 'its a kind of magic' the killers 'mr brightside' just generally all my favourite songs. And it would end with 'a town called Malice' the jame!

For my DD1 we had coldplay 'strawberry swing' which is used to sing to her when pregnant and also adele 'let you feel my love' as it was playing on the radio when she died.

I love the suggestion of 'electric dream'.

And the service filled with freesias sounds so beautiful!

MegBusset · 02/09/2013 18:22

So sorry EMIN. Such shit news. You have given so much to so many and I hope you can have a sunshine-filled and comfortable autumn. Thanks and lots of Wine

I am a humanist too and when I go I want Nick Drake's 'Northern Sky'.

amberlight · 02/09/2013 19:41

bumping this for EMIN's family

guineapiglet · 02/09/2013 19:59

Hello Earth Mother - I don't know you, but this thread has really touched me. Please accept my love and kindest thoughts, you sound like such a lovely person. I thought your flower idea was so beautiful, and like you, love freesias, a very moving idea.

'Stop crying your heart out' by Oasis is a beautiful song but the one which gets me every time is 'The Pretender' by Jackson Browne, about the choices we make in life, and being true to ourselves.

Wishing you so much peaceThanks

Emins dd has posted an update on the tamoxifen thread in general health

Zhx3 · 04/09/2013 00:23

Earth Mother, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I was humbled by your thread about the wonderful chance you gave your foster babies.

I thought of "I'm like a Bird" by Nelly Furtardo, although I can't remember all of the lyrics.

Also, how about "All of Me"? I love the Harry Connick Jr.

With love and warmth to you x

I just saw this, and saw the thread EMIN's daughter has written. It has moved me to tears. What a lovely woman and mother to many. May her spirit fly free and her memory remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

mineofuselessinformation · 04/09/2013 20:21

EMIN's daughter, if you are reading this, I second 'She Goes On'. It's a lovely song about the pain of loss, but also the joy of having had someone in your life. Have a listen.
