At lunchtime today i was at ds2's school for a meeting, standing chatting towards the end, when i suddenly got terrible pains in both feet, running down the outside of each foot and up towards my ankles. Initially i thought it was cramp, but 6 hours later i can barely weight bear and the pain has me in tears. I had to get a friend to drop me to get teh kids and blag a lift back home, dd1 is having to cook dinner because i just tried to walk and ended up crying because it hurt so much to take even half a dozen steps.

Any ideas?

Would a move to Birkenstock or Scholl sandals / shoes help you maintain your trainer allergy, expose your painted toenails and support your arch ? The Birks have fab contoured footbeds.

Plimmies will be flat-bottomed things. If you are doing a reasonable distance each day you really won't be doing your plates any favours in them, Lou.

Sorry to hear this Lou. I have heal spurs and feel exactly the same way that you do about trainersbut I had to break down and purchase them along with these orthotic inserts. I have worn them onceI know I need to wear them everyday, but I hate them. THe one thing I cannot do anymore is ever go with bare feet--it hurts so much. I hope you get better soon.

actually the stress fracture thing sounds closest to my symptoms yet, just weird it is both feet, tho theleft one is considerably worse

i dont think i have one pair of shoes that would be approved of for my feet right now

i managed to sort out a routine for the mornings tho until i am better, afternoons are easier timing wise for me as i can set off early and slowly, but in the mornings i cant leave until ds2 has been picked up for school by his transport at 8.30, and at my speed the other kids wont get to school on time
