I'm sorry to hear that Ash. I do think it asks a lot of people. I stumbled on a set of photos taken by a husband who's wife was diagnosed a few months into marriage and it was remarkable to watch. Some people rise, are ready, etc. Some don't. Hugs and gentleness now it's actually happened.

Ash, have been looking through your FB pics. You are beautiful ! Be kind to yourself and take time to heal you have been through a lot the past few months.

The painting course sounds fun - I'm not much good at drawing either - some things I can do, but I rubbish at people. I like to have a go though - it is so relaxing, and I don't care what anyone thinks about the results

MAS is a fabulous artist - she did a card for my DD's graduation - DD still has the card up on her piano - she loves it

Sparkle - great that your move is going ahead - sorry you have some niggly side effects though - they are a pain, have you got something from the GP for the thrush - they can out you on a course of pills (fluoxi something???) to prevent/shift it - works much better than just creams etc. on their own.

Why does the bugger know when you are going on holiday? The bugger delayed a big holiday for me too but we got there in the end. Sorry it's messed up your plans but make sure you go to Sicily, we had the most amazing holiday in Sicily when the Copts were 2 and 5, in an old near ruined palazzo in the hills with a farm, there were puppies, kittens and goats (all our cats had Italian names for a while) and the farmer had a pizza over in the barn he would fire up when we needed it . The girls still talk about it, and Sicily has a special place in our and our friends' memories, I am sure it will for you. Just watch out for the Sicilian tooth fairies though, my friend and I were so surprised to see it that my friend broke her foot and I got a black eye, or at least the children believed that, though and an open cupboard door in the dark might have been involved. Ash wise words on break ups, you do need to give yourself time and space to grieve, break ups after a long time are like losing someone close, and the fact they are still there has it's own pain. I am glad you will still be friends but do take some time for yourself to adjust, do things for yourself and get on with your own life.

Problem with the snow is the drifts, and peoples cars being either under them or the other side of them. Guess it will thaw in a few weeks, until then, hope people have heat.

ash I've been nosey as well and had a look at your photographs. You are gorgeous and when the time is right someone special will come along as someone said earlier (sorry I think I still have chemo brain and can't remember who it was) enjoy kissing plenty of frogs first.

Blooming dentist today, turns out I not only have 2 broken teeth but need 2 fillings. I haven't had any work done for about 8 years so suppose I was due some but blooming heck they quoted me £260. They nearly had to send for a cardiac ambulance for me .

I really begrudge paying for dental treatment Gracie as I spent most of my working life as a dental nurse and got all my treatment for free .
Hope your fillings are pain free , and your wallet stops aching soon !

Have had a major wobble today- specialist nurse not rung me back (prob as Easter), have convinced myself cancer everywhere (lump in my leg, reason for sore hip), feeling very wobbly about why this been identified now and whole op itself, bracing myself for more bad news and how will I cope (and breath).

As dh said there isn't a lot I can do now- just find it all so hard at times.

And feel bad that yet again kids and dh suffering due to my health changing our holiday plans etc.

And gracie- about dental bill. It's never cheap is it?

I can't remember what cycle this is - have my meds to start again tomorrow- all went ok at hospital - though had to wait an hour for my tablets. Went to see my picture of the BCNs in the breast unit and then went to rummage in the Gap where I bought a fab green hoody and nice stripy socks for T and a skirt for me and a really fab blue shirt dress type thing for me- there's a big sale on,worth a look if anyone's near a Gap.

I've been scoffing bio yogurt willy nilly to no ill effects- chemo nurse advised against but am a bit obsessed with yogurt and think it does the stomach a lot of good.

MAS, hope meds are kind when you start again tomorrow. I think I scoffed bio yoghurt on chemo a lot too, as was never told not to. Does amaze me how some things they virtually staple to you, others they forget to tell us.

(((((hugs))))) Gig - it would be very strange if you didn't have a bit of wobble, - the last weeks events happened quite suddenly and, you are bound to suffer a bit of backlash of emotion, especially as you did so well holding it all together while you were in hospital.

I'm sure it is simply the easter holiday which meant you didn't get your call back - IME health care professionals can sometimes be surprisingly dim when it comes to making people wait for information, - they don't seem to get that you sit and wait for the phone to ring.

Am also hoisting my uber large arse onto the box for you (using a cunning contraption of heavy duty pulleys )

MAS - clothes sounds great - we have a GAP in the city, I may sneak in there on saturday and see if the sale is still on

gracie - ouch about the dental bill - it is so expensive, I sometimes wonder whether dentures would be cheaper than constantly patching up my teeth!

Old lady dog is tired but OK today, she scared me very much yesterday, by having a big 'episode' - she has slept a lot today - didn't get up straight away to greet DH when he got home, which is unusual but she is getting very deaf so maybe didn't hear the door.

DD has made some brilliant hot cross buns - she used the Paul Hollywood recipe, with apple in them, when she is not looking I shall put some on the trolley, they are amazing!

I am v odd about clothes- I stick to my 'comfort' things and get alarmed by anything different- have tried ,my shirt dress on and am now worried that it looks like a nurse's uniform - and all I can see is how chunky my middle is - I have a very fixed idea about how I look,and it's very critical. The skirt is v nice and I haven't found fault in it yet.Gah.

ah,am glad she rang gig. Am eyeing up kk's dd's hotcross buns- Paul H's did look totally fab I must say..wish our oven was behaving. I also really loved the idea of Mary's pavlova with lemon curd...

How about shirt dress over jeans with vest or tee shirt under? That's how I wear it as looks less uniform.

Bought some button up and v neck tops as reckon won't be wanting anything to close to my neck for a bit

MAS - you are utterly lovely, I have seen photos, you are very pretty with a lovely figure. I bet your dress looks fab. - Gig's suggestion of jeans underneath is a good one. Stick a bright chunky necklace on as well

The lemon curd Pavlova looked lovely too, - the buns took DD all afternoon and evening to make (because of the rising time for the dough) but they were worth waiting for. I like HXbuns very much, but the shop bought ones always give me indigestion - luckily I seem to be fine with the home made type

good idea gig - I could put leggings under-and yes,t shirt/vest top - and thanks for kind words kk . There are lots of nice v neck/scoop necked tops in Gap and loads of lovely stripy things.
