thank you everyone. DH got hump now as he is manically hoovering and I said can you not do it another time. Did it last night at 7 when DS was going to bed and 8.30am this morning!! Stressing me out! think he is sercretly nervous for me though and it's showing itself through housework. Great!

Have al ovely day in the sunshine ladies Smile x

Sometimesiwonder · 23/05/2012 09:28

Autumn - what a worry about your Dad. I hope you can get some answers. Sad

A virtual hand hold for your chemo, Snoopy! No experience of the cold cap here as my onc wouldn't offer it (probably hadn't got any Hmm ) but i think it sounds like a fab idea. I hope it all goes much better than you think: am sure it will. I found the worry was much worse than the reality. x

Smee - forgetful old people are not easy to get along with. So annoying and so vulnerable. Gin may well be your friend for a day or two. How are the pert new boobs, my lovely? I fear I may have missed milestones like drains coming out and wounds healing.

Prosecco and cake.

I think you are all right. I feel taller. How marvellous. I may break the magic 5ft 2in barrier now, which I always feel separates the proper grown ups from the wannabees......

My house is full of flowers from lovely friends, and I also got given a lovely gooey chocolate mint cake, which I flop ontot he FBS trolley, with ice packs, to keep it lovely and cool.

graciesmall09 · 23/05/2012 09:33

Did I smell some chocolate cake? Will nab a piece for afternoon coffee. Thanks sometimes

Sometimesiwonder · 23/05/2012 09:39

You can wait til this afternoon?????!!

I'll tell you what, though. Getting my spine in line makes me look thinner! Quite a bit thinner! I imagine it's a bit like when Gok puts people in a bra that fits, and a pair of Spanx. Not sure how much it cost the NHS to do all this, but the cosmetic effects are quite wonderful Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/05/2012 10:59

sounds brilliant sometimes !! I think proper posture does help (I am dreadful, never sit up straight etc) Yay !!!
smee hope Olds are ok and not driving you too batty.
Autumn sorry you have the anxieties about your dad xx
Good luck to snoopy !!
And love of course to ned and topsy and everyone else. Am doing some work then this evening it's pre-tour concert which I hope will be good- as the weather's nice they're singing in one of the quads at school.Hoping mum will make it- dad not sure.

Parents still pooling around. All more than a bit sad. They're going in a bit. This is apparently them leaving early so I can work. Hmm

Snoopy, probably you've left, but just quickly in case you haven't, I used to take two paracetemol before hand and that seemed to help. Really good luck today. Am thinking of you. Come back and tell us how you are when you can xx

Will be back later. Lovely day out there. Hope those that can are feeling sunny. Smile

smee · 23/05/2012 11:06

That should read 'pootling'. Not sure what pooling is.. Confused

1stepatatime · 23/05/2012 11:17

Just popping on to wish snoopy good luck for today's first chemo session. Will be waiting for verdict on cold cap as i'm undecided whether to give it a try.

topsy - hope you can come home today.

sometimes - glad your op went well, wishing you a speedy recovery.

Will try and catch up properly later. Waves to everyone else, hope you have a good day xx

Sometimesiwonder · 23/05/2012 11:35

Ah, 'pootling'. I was guessing 'tooling'. Both fantasticallly evocative words Grin

Enjoy the sunshine, all those who can. I imagine it is cheery, even from poor old Topsy's hospital window Sad

smee · 23/05/2012 12:23

Sighing with relief, but feel awful for doing so. They've finally gone. I walked them to the bus stop and put them on a bus. Phew....

Got so much work to do, I'd better crack on. Brew on the go for all who want one though.

Just quickly though, Sometimes, how's the pain?? Hope it's not too annoying. I seem to remember it was hard to sleep. Thanks for asking about my pert breasts. Am hugely amused by them. Am currently braless wearing a strappy summer top. Don't think I've done that since I was a teenager. Grin

No news from Topsy?? Hope it's because she's on her way home.

Sometimesiwonder · 23/05/2012 12:27

That sounds fun!

Pain is fine, thanks. Am taking paracetamol and ibuprofen and it is all manageable.

topsyturner · 23/05/2012 12:44

Got drain out this morning .
Yippeeeeeeee !!!

Want me to stay another 24 hours though .
Boooooo !!!

Heading in the right direction though , so fingers crossed for tomorrow afternoon .
Although Gigs last clips of Sir Tom in his tighty whiteys may have set me back weeks ... Grin

Love to all , sorry I am being so shit at support right now .

SparkleRainbow · 23/05/2012 13:03

I am glad to hear about the drain topsy, fingers crossed they let you out for good behvaiour tomorrow. Now step away from the orange men, until you are feeling a little stronger Wink

Sometimes - Good the pain is under control, and of course you are taller, I can tell from here. 5'2" is an excellent height, that is what they are predicting my dd2 will be, dd1 prediction is 5'11" and ds 6'3", so she will be my beautiful diddy one for ever!

smee - sorry about your mum, it must be so hard. I hope the school were understanding yesterday, even if they were a litttle confused!

Snoopy - I know I have missed wishing you good luck, but I am thinking of you.

A lovely sunny day here today. Ds has managed to go to school, so dd2 and I have been to the garden centre to buy some tomato plants (I can never successfully grow them from seed) and later we are ging to plant up my herbs in the raised beds beside my terrace/patio thingy. Ducklings are huge, but still don't have a working camera. I have given them a plant pot tray to swim in, their adoptive mummy is pulling out her feathers when they swim in it, but seems to be coping. We have now adopted a baby mouse which Max (the kitten) brought back yesterday evening, it is living in a cage in our sitting room. Had it met me first as opposed to dh and the dc it would have been "living" in the wild, but there we go. Ds has named it tiddles. They have made toys for it to play with Hmm Mad crazy mad, crazy crazy mad. I draw the line at the baby rabbits the kittens keep catching though, I have made my case very clearly to all FOUR of my dc (yes dh I am including you in that total)

smee · 23/05/2012 13:13

Yay for no drain, Topsy!! Excellent news. Smile Smile

smee · 23/05/2012 13:15

Sparkle I picture you surrounded by animals now. Smile Sweet about the mouse, though eek (appropriate!) about having a mouse. It's the tails I hate.

sometimes, glad pain's manageable then. Amazing to think you suffered for so long. I couldn't believe how quickly I saw improvements. Smile

SparkleRainbow · 23/05/2012 13:20

Smee I am.....two dogs, three cats, a mouse Hmm in the house, 6 ducklings, 16 chickens and a cockerel outside the house.....not to mention the sheep, lambs, horses, rabbits......and rats (urghh) that surround me too. Mice tails I can cope with, but rat tails......... Ds asked me for a hamster the other day, because he didn't have any pets, I asked him where he is was living, cos he couldn't be living with me! Wink

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/05/2012 13:22

hooray for no drain topsy !! soon be home I'm sure.
Waves to bra-less smee - hope you can catch up with work this afternoon...
Waves to sparkle and her mousie !

OP posts:
smee · 23/05/2012 13:39

Aw your DS is funny. He'll be tall too!! My DS is predicted to be 6'3" too. Smile

smee · 23/05/2012 13:39

MAS, any tap news?

NedSchneebly · 23/05/2012 13:53

Having a peaceful one on the sofa this afternoon - tired and a bit washed out. Injections start tomorrow, so hoping don't get any worse. Sad

Bra-less sounds good, smee hope you feel nice and comfy. Don't work too hard, OK?

topsy yay for drain free - lets hope you carry on getting better and can get out tomorrow. Weather meant to be good for the rest of the week, so hope you get some sunshine to sit in.

Dr Doolittle sparkle ! That is quite a menagerie!

MAS bet you're looking forward to T's concert tonight. Am sure it will be awesome. Hope your mum can make it too. When does he leave on tour? So exciting!

How you doing, sometimes ? Glad to hear pain manageable. Taller and slimmer? Undoubtedly! Smile

snoopy you back? Hope you're Ok if you're lurking x

Waves to gig kurri autumn and anyone else around this afternoon. Big hugs all round x x

smee · 23/05/2012 14:23

Ned, you know you might be okay. I definitely started to flag when I was at the stage you are. Chemo's exhausting as it builds over time. Doesn't necessarily mean you're Neutropenic though. I only hit that once, so you've had your once! Rest up. Smile

Hope Snoopy's okay.

1step, do you have a start date yet? Am a bit out of the loop.

graciesmall09 · 23/05/2012 14:45

Envy at braless smee. I would love to not have to wear a bra but fear having to fasten them into my belt or possibly resting on my knees Grin.

Yay for drainless topsy. Hopefully you will be released tomorrow to enjoy this lovely weather.

Received a lovely wedding invitation today from a colleague in work. He is such a lovely fella - he lost his dad very suddenly to cancer a few months before my dad. Total surprise that I got an invite though. It is at least 15 years from I have been to a wedding so quite looking forward to it. It ties in perfectly with chemo as it is about 9 days after and the reception is at the same hotel and my wedding so DH and I have booked in for the night. Now where to find something suitable for a large, busty, over 40 lady with a rather attractive bald head and picc line? Wink

Hope snoopy got on ok today.

Gigondas · 23/05/2012 14:54

It was the hat sir Tom was wearing that got me Grin but yay re drain topsy.

snoopy how are you?

ned take it easy.

sometimes I am sure you are taller.

gracie wedding sounds lovely

One more rads to go - I am quite sore in a delicate area tho Blush

Waves to all - am done in so sneaking a rest in now.

graciesmall09 · 23/05/2012 14:56

gigs one more to go is great. Enjoy your rest. Have you tried the scone recipe yet?

smee · 23/05/2012 15:04

YEAY, Gig that's fantastic. Be liberating not to have to make that trip every day. Yikes re sore bits though. Hope they're looking after you.

Waving to Gracie. Wedding sounds like a good idea. Nice for you and your DH to have some time away. Can I have scone recipe too?? Have never made ones that were any good. Will PM you.
