Glad to hear T has had a good time - some lovely pictures too :)
Was going to potter around outside this afternoon, the weather forecast didn't say rain but it is p**ing it down now. Will hide inside for a bit longer :)

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/06/2012 16:30

have decided to start assembling my tax return - it is sending me to sleep....

Gigondas · 10/06/2012 16:42

Is that why you are on mnmas Wink
Back after holiday - had lovely time but got
Awful stiff neck/shoulder (sympathy kurri) . May avoid Gp and ask hospital to sort physio as I never saw one when I was meant to. Suspect it's general unfitness coupled with picking up fat baby.

Will post more later when chance to catch up properly but hi to all:

Figgyroll · 10/06/2012 17:08

Welcome back to Blighty T and Gigs. Smile

Jchoc, it's raining here too. We started pruning back some shrubs and had to finish in the wet. I neglected to prune anything last year during treatment and of course everything's got out of hand. I think it will take every afternoon next week to catch up (if the weather improves).

We had a lovely few hours in a neighbouring village - they held an Open Gardens day and we nosied around visited 8 out of the 11 gardens, stopping for tea and cake at one. Have come home full of ideas.

Thanks for your comments re shower versus bath. I think we're definitely going to go for a shower room. Now it's just a case of getting some graph paper and making sure everything fits before commissioning a plumber.

Gigondas · 10/06/2012 17:29

We have shower room and walk in shower in main bathroom- both get loads of use (only kids really use bath).

There are rain warnings here over next 24 hours Hmm

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/06/2012 17:57

welcome back gig !
Have arranged a fair bit of tax stuff- I always feel as though my receipts and bits of paper are very scrappy, but kind accountant sorts them -just trying to do as much of the organising into some order before sending them to her.

Afternoon all. Have returned safely from MIL's 60th birthday weekend. Luckily no blood was shed, although there were plenty of possible flash points. MIL is quite unpleasant and hard work, unfortunately, and quite often unpleasant to my DH (her son, obviously!) which makes me Angry and Sad . She did manage to behave herself.

Have bought big box Green and Blacks chocs for chemo nurses, to take with me tomorrow - nice gesture or bit OTT?

Sorry, not up to speed on evything, but sending big hugs for new iPads, returning sons, tax returns, intact unburgled sheds, B&Q visits, roofing supplies, jame making, new shower rooms, safe return to UK, creaky knees/ feet/ shoulders, nice trips out, fed up-ness with rain and general warm and fuzzy feelings of love and support x x x

jchocchip · 10/06/2012 18:41

Hi Figgy I did go out and fill one big bag with prunings - came back in and a baby slug dropped off me Eeuwh! Still loads to do - this particular shrub combined with the bamboo is taking over our small front garden...

jchocchip · 10/06/2012 18:43

Hi ned xpost - glad you survived MILs birthday without bloodshed :)

Figgyroll · 10/06/2012 18:46

Hi Ned, glad MIL managed to behave herself. I think Green and Black's choccies would be a very welcome treat for the chemo nurses. Not OTT at all.

Jchoc, one of the gardens we visited today was a bit overrun with bamboo, it was sprouting everywhere. We made the mistake of planting it at our old house and learnt our lesson the hard way.

Back to work tomorrow after a fortnight off. Sad But.... only 7 weeks till the long summer hols. Yayyyy for working in a school. Grin

KurriKurri · 10/06/2012 18:46

Welcome back Gig, - take it easy with the neck - mine is a bit better today, but I haven't spent much time on the computer, and I think that's what aggravates it in my case.

Glad T is home safe and sound MAS, - does he have to go to school tomorrow, or are they letting them have some time to recover? Good luck with the tax returns.

Shower room sounds lovely Figgy, - I would love one, we only have an ancient shower over the bath arrangement atm, I envy you Smile

I have managed to get a whole days gardening in - the rain held off, but its gone ominously dark now. We took out two huge shrubs which were dominating the border and stopping anything else form growing, and I got lots of weeding and planting out done. Have filled all my tubs - I usually do a few extra and give one to Mum and one to DS and DDIL.
I ache now, - this is the time when I do appreciate my bath!

Old lady dog discovered the supermarket shopping, - DH had dumped the bags on the kitchen floor - and she helped herself to half a block of cheese, we have already had one cheese induced explosion, I hope there's not too much left in her system! (sorry TMI if anyone is having their tea)

Figgyroll · 10/06/2012 19:14

clever naughty old lady dog. That'll teach DH. I hope you made him clear up the mess?

KurriKurri · 10/06/2012 19:22

Oh yes Grin

topsyturner · 10/06/2012 19:53

I too would love a nice big wet room .
Did get our bathroom refitted a couple of years ago but it was too tiny to accommodate the shower if our dreams !

Am snorting at your old lady dog kk
But pig/dog would so commit the same act of larceny !
Dogs just lurve cheese !

Nowt on tv tonight , blardy football !
Well there is an Inspector Linley on at half past but I have a sneaky suspicion that's a repeat !

DH is going to combust shortly .
So far he has washed the car , cut the grass , weeded and hoed the beds , walked the dog , hoovered the house , unloaded the dishwasher , bathed DD .
I don't know , one night out and he turns into a saint !
Must be feeling guilty Grin

KurriKurri · 10/06/2012 20:37

She would sell her soul for a bit of cheese topsy Grin The worse thing she ever stole was one of those fat balls with peanuts in it for birds, - I found her hurridly finishing it off and looking very guilty, - she spent the next couple of hours pebble dashing the lawn Grin

topsyturner · 10/06/2012 20:59

Oh kk , we have to make sure that all our fat balls are hung in trees above German Shepherd height as pig/dog is partial to those too !

I think old lady dog and pig/dog would be very great friends Grin

KurriKurri · 10/06/2012 21:58

They would topsy - old lady dog would love a big dog as a partner in crime - he could reach the places she's to short to get to Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/06/2012 22:01

arf at old lady dog and the cheese ! hope her tummy isn't too upset.
Waves to ned and thinks that the chocs will be very much appreciated - not OTT at all. MIL sounds not very pleasant, glad you survived the w/end. Must send T to bath and bed -he has a singing lesson followed by a Maths exam -though it's an INSET day (and tomorrow too) so no early start, which is good.

Good morning. I've been umming and arhing about pooping on this thread after the invitation from MaryAnn.

DH has appointment tonight (!) at 740pm with a consultant surgeon to look at a lump on his nipple. I'm just about holding it together. I lost my mum to sBC 6 years ago and I know TOO MUCH about BC. I can't attend the appointment with him because we have a 13mo DD no family locally to sit for us.

I prayed last night. I'm an agnostic atheist FFS. Work today is going to be hard.

Figgyroll · 11/06/2012 07:22

Good luck to T for his maths exam today MAS.

Hello to Misspiggy. So sorry to hear about your worries for DH. I will be keeping everything crossed for him. I think we've all said a prayer in our time of need, athiest or not - it's out of sheer desperation - I know that feeling well. Stick around here for the day, we are very good at hand holding.

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/06/2012 07:36

misspiggy welcome- sending you and dh lots of good thoughts and vibes -waiting is horrible- as figgy says, stick with us x

figgy -thanks - T sleeping in for a bit,seemed v tired last night,poor love.
Wretched weather here.

PessimisticMissPiggy · 11/06/2012 07:52

Thanks Heading off to drop DD at nursery then onto work. I think that I'll have to hang around the file stores and do some filing to keep me out of sight of colleagues.

topsyturner · 11/06/2012 08:04

Morning All

Good luck for the exam T . That's a bit unfair having it so soon after he gets home isn't it ?

Welcome Piggy , waiting is a complete sod . And you have already been through this once you poor thing .
I'm hoping it turns out to be nothing for your DH .

Didn't sleep last night .
Don't know why , haven't got any apts that I'm worrying about .

Bought another hair dye yesterday .
Am determined to have all sorts of hair colour before chemo starts again and it all falls out Grin

smee · 11/06/2012 10:24

Ned's last chemo. YAY!! Hope it goes okay today, Ned. Green & Blacks Chocs don't sound at all ott to me. Glad you survived monster MIL. Smile

Gracie's bone scan today too I think, so she must be radioactive by now. Will be thinking of you Gracie. xx

Hello to MissPiggy. Blimey, poor you after your mum it's no wonder you're scared. Thing is though, that if it is bad news the treatment's really moved on amazingly, even in the time since your mother died. We're living testimony to that, so stick with us if it is bad news. Am sure we can help.

MAS, glad you've got your boy back safely. What was his favourite landmark?? Bit of bad timing on the maths exam though.

Topsy, I didn't sleep last night either. Not sure why. Am mainlining coffee. Want to join me, we could be manic together. Grin

Waving to all. Here's a Monday distraction, as have just found this place. I want to move in...

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/06/2012 10:41

yay for last chemo ned !! and sendinh gracie good thoughts for bone scan.
Think T loved everything - the Top of the Rock seemed to be a highlight- he's still asleep but should get up soon for breakfast-have made sandwiches for him to take in between singing and exam.
Didn't sleep either- woken by smoke detector beeping because it's battery needs changing- the pesky thing is that it's very high up on the stairwell and our ladder doesn't reach so have had to ask my dad.
