Good luck for today Topsy. Hope all goes well.

Brew and bacon and mushroom sandwiches today.

I had to carry on wearing dressings over misbehaving scar during our holiday and today it is very sore. I need to see my doctor as it's looking very red and feels hot. Fingers are crossed it's not infected.

Figgyroll · 07/06/2012 08:27

x-posted with you Ned.

I think a few ladies here have had their doses reduced. It will certainly make a difference to how you feel each time. I'm glad you've got a schedule for rads and tamoxifen. I think you should be okay for your holiday - I know I was okay after the second week.

NedSchneebly · 07/06/2012 08:39

It's my last one on Monday, figgy!! Can't wait for it all to be done, and then I can move on to the next stage Smile

Figgyroll · 07/06/2012 08:42

Crikey, last one already!!! That's great for you. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly and no side effects this time.

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2012 08:50

woo, last one ned yay !! You should be fine post rads for going away (2 weeks after- think that's when we went off to Suffolk- just weeping burny bits but had dressings and they healed pretty quickly)
figgy hope there's no infection x
T and choir seem to have had a good day yesterday - lots of walking, Ground Zero, shopping and concert (they got an encore !) Today visit to New York library, singing at the Julliard and then shopping again, dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner and a Broadway show.
Am waiting for plumber with kitchen tap....
Hope gig's having a lovely time in French France

NedSchneebly · 07/06/2012 08:55

Good luck with the plumber MAS Hope he comes soon and can fit new tap quickly. DH at home today, i think? Hope makes the process less stressful for you x x

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2012 08:57

yep,dh home- they were meant to be coming first thing, but doesn't look like it...grrr

OP posts:
Sometimesiwonder · 07/06/2012 09:11

Try not to fret, MAS - sometimes they have to go and get bits and bobs for the job first.... Hope it goes well.

I'm sending huge vibes to Topsy for today's appointment - and stern stares to Gracie. You aren't Superwoman you know

Ned - i can't believe your last chemo is looming! Shock How brilliant! End is in sight.

Dd is now back from the alarming canal trip. They survived the night in the mean streets and canalled hell for leather all day yesterday: we were asked to go and visit yesterday evening. When we got there she was all gung-ho 'I am staying until the weekend' - but when DH and I got up to go she burst into tears and said she wanted to come home for a cuddle Grin. So that's her holiday cut short, but I think she had had enough. She really enjoyed it but she has never gone away without either of us before, and three days was as much as she could manage. V tired today Wink

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2012 09:24

oh well done to little sometimes ! I used to get very homesick at grandparents and always desperate to come home. Glad she had a great time !
Plumber should have all the bits, think they have to slot in emergencies -but really they have messed us around a bit so ought to make sure they get here sharpish.

OP posts:
Sometimesiwonder · 07/06/2012 09:30

True. Look stern when they get there, that'll larn 'em. And be stingy with the tea and biscuits.

I've got to try and find a plumber too. We have drippy kitchen taps and an airlock that sounds like a plane taking off when we flush the loo. I hate looking for plumbers, they are such a law unto themselves. Sigh.

KurriKurri · 07/06/2012 09:33

Hooray for last chemo Ned, and great to have the next stage planed and set up.

Good luck again to topsy Smile

Well done to little Sometimes for knowing when she'd had enough - that takes courage and common sense Smile

Figgy - hope the wound settles down soon - what a problem it has been for you Sad

MAS - hope the plumbers arrive soon and sort that tap. Sounds as if T is very busy!

Off to yoga now, for an hour or so. See you all later.

Sometimesiwonder · 07/06/2012 09:37

Oh yes, Figgy, the wound. it really has been a bit of a pest, hasn't it? Sad Here's to an end to it. I can't help thinking a bit of sunshine and warmth might help.

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2012 09:39

practicing stern look....

OP posts:
Sometimesiwonder · 07/06/2012 10:23

Are they there yet?

Are they quailing under the weight of your disapproval?

Must try harder Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2012 10:38

sigh- not yet....

topsyturner · 07/06/2012 12:08

Surgeon says nipple not a funny colour !
She is happy with wounds progress .
So last nights dream that I had gangrene of the nipple was just a bad dream Grin

Am away out for the day (hunting down the Olympic torch) so will catch up properly later .

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2012 12:13

oh phew topsy -that's a relief !!
Still no plumber Sad

OP posts:
Sometimesiwonder · 07/06/2012 12:16

OK so it is time to phone and get shouty then, I fear. Sad

On the plus side - card has arrived - thanks MAS. Have had to hide it but will open at an opportune moment and send dosh today. x

Topsy - great news on the gangrene. Smile Well done! Hope you find the torch....

KurriKurri · 07/06/2012 12:24

Hooray for not having gangrene of the nipple topsy Grin - Hope you manage to see the torch.

MAS - Angry at those plumbers, - I hate it when people don't come on time and you are left hanging around.

Just finished yoga, - the cancer support centre where I go for yoga has just opened a second hand book hut in its garden, - so I bought two fat novels, - 50p each.

graciesmall09 · 07/06/2012 12:35

Hooray for no gangrene topsy. Enjoy the torch, think you will need a brolly.

mas hope that plumber turns up soon. I just hate unreliable trades people.

kurri how's the shoulder? Hope it is easing a bit.

Figgy hope your wound settles down and feels a bit easier.

1in8 well done on finishing your chemo.

Not feeling much better today to be honest. I just feel drained and can't shift this pain in my temple. I am taking 8 cocodamol each day but it isn't touching it. I'm still in my pjs, need to get my ass in gear as have to do to school pick up this afternoon. I'm fed up feeling rubbish. I am really wondering if I'm going to be able to do 8 chemo.

Hope everyone ok. Has gigs got back from France yet? If not hope your weather better than here, it is pelting it down.

Sometimesiwonder · 07/06/2012 12:40

Gracie - apparently, after three days, Cocodamol can actually make headaches worse. Could you try something else?

Sorry if I am telling you something obvious but my knowledge of matters medical is laughable scant.

Hope you feel better soon. Sad

KK - bargainacious! Grin

KurriKurri · 07/06/2012 12:47

Thank you gracie - shoulder is still playing up, but I'm carrying on with various activities because last time I had it the physio said don't stop doing things or I'll end up with frozen shoulder. So am trying my best to ignore it/dose up with painkillers.

I'm sorry about the headache - that sounds very unpleasant, - how many chemos have you had, and what type are you having? - There are things they can do if you are having problems - lengthening the time between doses, reducing the dose, changing the drug, sometimes it's just a particular drug that doesn't suit you. Talk to your onc. about it and see what they say.

Also if you are feeling poorly, and have a headache, keep an eye on your temp. - you might be coming down with something, and phone your unit if you get a temp.

Another thought that popped into my head - I sometimes feel unwell if I take a lot of co-codamol, some people don't tolerate morphine type drugs very well, - there might be another painkiller that suits you better.

Hope I'm not talking completely out of my hat, - I hope you feel better soon Smile xx

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2012 12:53

would you believe it - they had put us down for first call tomorrow though they rang this morning to confirm it was today between 8 and 12 (they had said first thing today) grrrrrrr - they were very apologetic -I was as disgruntled as I can manage and they have promised that man will appear at 9-9.30 tomorrow morning... silly I know, but I got up at 6 in order to be ready and have had a wibbly tummy with anxiety as the waiting makes me worse (even with dh here) We are going to go out now. Bah
.
Hope you find your torch topsy and sorry that you're feeling so rotten gracie

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2012 12:53
