moist gusset even - eeew !
I remember the state of the lavs in the maternity unit when ds was born- shocking. The ones at current hospital are really very good and clean, particularly in the breast unit place.

See, I look away for a moment and it's pure smut. Grin

Gig, fatty deposits are a massive result. And chemo will be tough, but we'll cheer you through and I reckon it'll blitz the rest of it. Keep Topsy in your case, or she'll snaffle the rest of my tea cakes.. Grin

Shock at loo cleaning too. Glad you're well again tough grey lady. Smile

Bit expensive here too atm. Latest disaster is the boiler - it only works when it feels like it. Dread to think how much it'll cost, as we probably need a new one..

MaryAnnSingleton · 29/05/2012 17:17

bah about boiler smee -there's always something...

Hello all :) Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine!

I've been a bit rubbish at being on here but have had a rollercoaster few days. Was on top of things last week and planning on heading home from my mum's last Saturday. On Wednesday, though, I went to have my seroma drained again and by Thursday evening it was really uncomfortable. On Friday, my temperature shot up to 39 and the GP referred me to hospital, via A&E - A&E on a Friday night is not a pretty thing! It was awful, they lost my notes and my bloods (had to take them 3 times!) and it was midnight before they took me to a ward. I'm still not quite sure what was wrong, I think the general consensus is that it was an infection though.

I was sent home the next morning and was still pretty ill on Saturday night with a high temp (38+). Sunday and yesterday were better but I seem to have low blood pressure and feel generally a bit low anyway at the moment. I had an appointment for my post-op results yesterday anyway and when I got there they didn't have them! The op was on the 10th but apparently they're still not through?!

While I was there I got quite breathless so my consultant sent me for a chest x-ray, which is clear....But, today my consultant rang and said that he wants to rule out the possibility of a blood clot on the lung so I am off for a chest CT scan tomorrow morning! I have succumbed and have resorted to Dr Google again and I have a few of the symptoms for it (low blood pressure, sudden onset breathlessness, sharp chest pain on one side etc), all of which I have put down to the op etc. I am now scared to move in case it is a DVT and I am about to keel over from that!! Agghhhh!!!!!

Sorry, that turned out to be an epic update ( I haven't even included all the gory details!) and I am all doom and gloom so I will go away now Grin

Take care all

x

MaryAnnSingleton · 29/05/2012 19:30

yikes fluffy Shock take care !! will be thinking of you x

Fluffy, blimey! Keeping everything crossed for you here...

graciesmall09 · 29/05/2012 19:42

fluffy what a time you are having. Hope the CT shows up clear. I had a CT scan 2 weeks ago as they thought I had a clot. I was breathless and had chest pain, no clot and the scan was over in a flash.

gigs At last you have had a positive result and you definitely deserve it. Enjoy France and be sure to empty your bags of any stowaways to ensure plenty of room for wine and cheese on the way back Grin

Shock at unclean hospital grey lady but glad you are feeling better.

Ned glad you are home. You are having such a rough time, hugs to you.

Got my syringe driver set up today and slept for 2 hours this afternoon. Bit worried because the chemo nurse phoned to say she can't get here until 2-3 pm and my driver is due to run out at 12pm. So much for setting me up the day before so that I have plenty of drugs. Onc has also written me up for a drip 3 days after chemo. Hospital phoned with bone scan appointment for tomorrow but I can't go because of chemo so have to wait for next cancellation. I am so dreading chemo tomorrow, I feel like such a baby Sad

NedSchneebly · 29/05/2012 19:55

gracie love will you stop being do hard on yourself? You are a brave lady having a horrible course of treatment. Of course you're dreading chemo, it's a whole cowbag of shite and I don't believe anyone who says they don't have a certain dread of it. Get this one ticked off, then it's one less.

That is a bit rubbish if the nurse can't get there til after your driver runs out Hmm Have you got tablets you can take as well if the effects start to wear off before she gets there? Thinking of you lots x x x

fluffy my love, you have been through the mill, haven't you, poor thing. Don't disappear on us, we can help you if you hang around. Big hugs for tomorrow, hope CT will be clear for you.

Now, come on. . . Crude, moi? Grin

smee · 29/05/2012 20:26

Fluffy, that deserved an epic post. All sounds grim, not to mention scary. Hope CT's clear tomorrow. Must be nerve wracking though.

Gracie, I agree with Ned, you're being way too hard on yourself. Can you get into hospital for syringe to be topped up? Can't remember how far away you are, but it might be worth it?

topsyturner · 29/05/2012 20:29

Don't worry Gracie .
I used to have my syringe driver set up as I was having the chemo , so even if the refill it at the same time as you get the chemo , you should be ok .
I had oral anti sickness tabs alongside the syringe driver too .

Knackered this evening .
Think I need an early night .

Hope Gig got to French France safely .

graciesmall09 · 29/05/2012 20:29

ned I do have some tabs but i wasn't told to take them. They said I have been given a high dose of the anti-sickness meds in my driver and also steroids.

I shall not be dragged into all your crude talk, I am too much of a lady Wink Grin

topsyturner · 29/05/2012 20:30

Fluffy big hugs for you .
You have been through the mill haven't you ?

graciesmall09 · 29/05/2012 20:32

smee no hospital won't want to know as chemo is through a private provider My nearest hospital isn't on a BUPA list so I can't have any care there at all.

topsy get yourself to bed, the last few weeks are probably catching up with you. Glad you are feeling better though.

Gigondas · 29/05/2012 20:40

Yes am in french France now. luxuriating at home after wine on train ... Thanks for all nice messages. Start on 18 June - its inpatient (which I knew) but onc said has best rate of control for my type. Haven't read literature yet but will have tons of questions when I do.

Gracie good luck tomorrow.

Grey lady that is so Angry but not surprised.

Ned how you doing? Amber feeling stronger?

Waves to anyone else I have forgotten.

Gigondas · 29/05/2012 20:40

Fluffy special hugs for you- seroma infections are the pits. Hope scan clear tomorrow
