mmmm orange juice ice lolly :)
been pottering in the garden this morning, but fair is on again so a bit noisy now. Still feeling low, despite the weather - period not arrived, so maybe it won't. Think I will go to the doctors next week, can't motivate myself to do things I should and weepy on and off...

We have a bit of a breeze so house is fairy cool downstairs with windows open and blinds shut, but baking upstairs...

NedSchneebly · 27/05/2012 14:21

Cold drink gratefully received. Am in hospital again- this neutropenia crap is doing my head in Sad sore and achy and no clue where infection is. More antibiotics for me, then . . .

Hope everyone else having better afternoon x

I have been on another thred here but just want some advice please. I went to the doctor on thursday as I found a lump in my breast a few weeks ago and felt it again last week. She examined me also felt the lump and has referred me for tests. My breast has felt painful. I have been worried sick and upset. However today I am finding it hard to feel the lump. This happened before where I thought I felt a lump and then could not then could. Has this happened to other people. Would feel a bit of an idiot to get to breast clinic and they cannot find it.

thenightisyoung · 27/05/2012 15:28

Just popped in to say hi to everyone and send my best wishes. I find it hard to keep up now I'm back at work regularly as this thread moves so fast! ned so sorry you are back in hospital, that is rotten. Jchoc sorry you're feeling so low - warm weather isn't guaranteed panacea and can be really rather draining at the best of times

I am having a pleasant afternoon pottering round the garden. I might pop out to Kew Gardens in an hour or so once it's quietened down.

Gigondas · 27/05/2012 15:40

Depends on lump but sometimes
They can seem more or less obvious. The clinic will presumably scan and do other tests so I wouldn't feel an idiot for going. Better to check it out as most lumps aren't cancerous and those that are ,they are usually treatable.

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/05/2012 17:18

waves to thenight
Agree with gig mumoftwomonsters -it really is best to go to the cliic and get it checked out, just to be sure. They certainly won't feel that it's a waste of time, promise x
GigI like picture of big Gig with hair cut ! and you on the green - lovely x

:( lost my post. Will try again!

Sorry to hear you are in hospital ned (hug) from me too.
Thanks for the hug mas feeling a bit better now. weird agreed.

mof2ms don't worry about feeling silly if they can't find it. Best to get it checked out and not to procrastinate (like I did Blush ) If they can't find anything abnormal that is a great result, and a small lump that comes and goes is still worth checking.

Did you get to kew ? thenight Haven't been out myself, (apart from across the road to the ice cream van) didn't want to go running while the fair was on...

Gigondas · 27/05/2012 19:33

ned big hugs to you

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/05/2012 07:23

figgy happy birthday to you !
ned hope you are better this morning- sending much love -also to topsy and everyone feeling down or poorly.
Plumber today with new tap - up early in case he comes at 8

OP posts:
topsyturner · 28/05/2012 08:21

Happy Birthday Figgy , hope you get spoilt today !

Ned sympathetic hugs to you , hope the anti bs work soon .

Mas good luck with the plumber . Our kitchen tap has been broken for 5 months . DH and I are at standoff over it . We both want a different tap and neither of us wants to compromise !
I should just go out and buy one and lose the receipt Grin

Welcome to all our newbies .
My view is "if in doubt , check it out" !
Always , always get things looked at .

Gracie , I went bald headed in weather like this . Got a few looks , but not as many as I thought I would !

Gig , how are you ?
I feel like I haven't caught up on any of your news for a while . What stage of the game are you at ?

Much love and supportive brow mopping to everyone . You are all very much in my thoughts .

DD off school today , school closed , she's not sick !
But DS school open , so he's gone off moaning about how life is "so unfair" Grin

Am waiting for my nurse to come and do my dressings . It's pretty soggy under there right now . But it's not infected soggy , so I'll put up with it !

I ordered some of those funny bras you see advertised on late night tv (no not those you perverts Grin)
Think the tv ones are called Aah Bras .
I got some off the BHS website called Genie .
Hopefully they will arrive soon , as vests just aren't giving me enough support . And I can't find anything else in shops that will work .

Hope you all have a beautiful day , it's all a bit too warm for me . But my house is lovely and cool , so I shall stay here !

Goodness I have rambled Grin

thenightisyoung · 28/05/2012 08:39

jchoc I did get to Kew Gardens for the last couple of hours they were open. It was lovely, it felt really peaceful at the end of the day. While I was there I saw an enormous bunch of fluffy goslings, about 20 of them, so cute :)

topsyturner · 28/05/2012 08:48

Aaaw fluffy goslings !
How many did you steal and bring home ?
Grin

graciesmall09 · 28/05/2012 08:57

Waves to all.

Ned hope those antibiotics kick in soon and you get home. Hope you don't feel too ill.

Topsy good to see you back. This weather is lovely but oh so hot. My 3 are counting the days down to end of school. We have tears every morning from little madam as she wants 'to stay at home with mummy'. Not sure if she just wants to play in the garden or not.

kurri will check out that link now. I have bought a couple of scarves but only one which seems cool enough in this weather.

I wore my wig yesterday to church. Thought to myself well doesn't look too bad and felt quite comfortable so all in all I thought I looked quite good, UNTIL I got home and realised I had cerise pink underwear on with white linen trousers Blush. Blame is on my chemo brain.

graciesmall09 · 28/05/2012 08:58

Have slipped some almond magnums on the trolley - half price in Sainsburys so couldn't resist.

topsyturner · 28/05/2012 09:23

Gracie wait till you try and do the school run with odd shoes on ... Grin

Gigondas · 28/05/2012 09:37

topsy shopping sounds like you are feeling more yourself.

Have just this morning had another ct scan which is last pre chemo check. I see onc tomorrow so good vibes for that. I am anxious although it is to discuss when:what type of chemo. Am braced for bad news as all I seem to get now. It's the old I will feel better when know the plan.

Plus feeling very sore/tired post rads (they stopped on Thursday). But off for few days with dh tomorrow to France so hopefully that will be break I need.

gracie glad wig is ok but Smile about underwear. I would do that so I dread to think what chemo will do.

Can add chocolate button cones to fbs if I can wrestle them off big gig.

Hello to everyone else/ mas any sign of new tap?

amberlight · 28/05/2012 11:46

Topsy, I am shocked about your funny bras! I didn't realise you were that kind of girl Grin

Hi all. Brew on.

Ooo, choc buttons! Ideal!

Seen my nice GP, who has been splendid about things to help me through all the pain I'm in (she says it's very common after breast cancer for some people to have big problems with joints etc).

Mumoftwomonsters, get thee to the clinic. Definitely always worth checking out.

Ned, eek re you being in hospital again! Not quite what you need. Hope they get you out of there pronto.
Gig heck re feeling sore post rads. Are you using aloe vera gel? It helped me a lot. And they aren't joking about the arm exercises either - I was naughty and thought I'd got away with it, and lo and behold the skin and muscles tightened up way after rads.
Gracie, call it a new fashion statement. We should all wear the same in a statement of solidarity with you Wink

AutumnSummers · 28/05/2012 12:06

Hugs to those who need them- and to those who don't :)

I've read up to speed with everyone and there are so many highs and lows. I hope that ALL of you can take some enjoyment from today :)

I'm out in the garden. Again. I'm surprised there isn't an Autumn-shaped dent in the grass yet!

FNA results for me on Thursday. I care not. Not today :)

thenightisyoung · 28/05/2012 12:45

topsy I wanted them all but I'm not sure my two mogs would've been impressed Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/05/2012 13:24

Good vibes for onc meeting gig and a lovely break in France
No plumber yet ! grrr...dh happens to be here as there was a big accident on A31 so he decided to work from home after setting off and not being able to get through...so that mkes me feel a bit better. Went to the post office and bank etc and hoped it'd all be done by the time I got back, but no.

OP posts:
smee · 28/05/2012 13:26

Ned, that's a sod. Hope you can come home this time. (((hugs))) x

Amber, be interested to see what your GP reckons. I've kind of given up with mine in terms of aches. I'm not too bad, but feet are crippling still.

Topsy, hope nurse has turned up by now.

Mumoftwomonsters.. Glad you came over here. Breast Clinic would never say you were time wasting, and it's best to get reassurance. Fingers crossed, they'll say it's nothing and you'll skip out of there. Smile

Gig, def good vibes coming your way tomorrow - hope you'll get good news. Definitely your turn. France sounds like a v.good plan. Smile

Happy Birthday to Figgy from me too. Do we know where she is??

MAS, hope tap's fitted and have to say, am mighty impressed you had a tattoo. Am far too wimpy to try that one.

Hope Snoopy's okay. Waving to you Snoops if you're lurking. x

Gracie, I'd bet no-one noticed at church. i think I still have chemo brain and it was two years ago for me.. Shock

No time as ever, but waving to all I've missed. Had a manic weekend with DS's birthday celebrations. He had a joint park party with another friend and I had the frankly ridiculous inspired idea of getting them all mini water pistols as prizes for a treasure hunt. Was complete mayhem, but a lot of fun. Grin

KurriKurri · 28/05/2012 13:52

Hello all,

Ned - what a bugger to be in hospital again Sad - hope you are feeling better soon and get your release papers xx

mumoftwo - welcome to the thread, I agree with others, go to the clinic, if they can't find anything - great! but they can find out what is going on for you, and its always better to know or else you worry. Stick around for hand holding while you go through the waiting part, - if you want any info. on what they are likely to do at the clinic just ask Smile

Happy birthday Figgy, - hope you are being thoroughly spoilt and having a lovely day and if you are working, I hope the children embarrassed you by singing Happy Birthday Smile

Gig loads of love for tomorrow, will be thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way xx

topsy lovely to have you back sounding like your old self again, hope you are sitting in the sun, browsing through your scrapbook of orange folk. Grin

We had a fab day at the beach yesterday. We went to Horsey Gap (with is roughly in the direction of Yarmouth) its always nice and quiet because it a couple of miles walk through fields and brecks to get there. Big rolling sand dunes - its lovely. And we saw a very very handsome chap - I fell head over heels in love with him, and he obligingly smiled while DH took a photo. Grin - see my profile for the result.

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/05/2012 14:05
