aiee @ catheter dragging !
Agree with what everyone has said about acknowledging and whatnot- I find it very hard to keep up,though I read everything I can't always remember what each person has posted and I do get very stressed about acknowledging individual posts - I hate to miss anyone out. I am always thinking of everyone on here though !

Yay, our Topsy's back. Smile Bet the kids are excited.

No Snoopy today? Hope you're okay and not hit too much.

Gracie, I think a lot of women carry on with periods throughout. Mine stopped, but they told me they'd probably return and it didn't mean anything if they did, so I'd say that means don't worry. Hope appt goes okay. x

Autumn, glad you've got some butch drugs. Grin

Sometimes and Amber, rest.

Can't possibly post to all - so many of us. Makes me feel quite normal, which lets face it is half the point. Smile Had another daft work deadline, so stayed up 'til 3.30 working, then DS woke me up at 6, to show me a map of sea monsters.. It's his birthday tomorrow. Still have to bake a cake...

KurriKurri · 25/05/2012 14:47

Happy birthday for DS Smee (how old is he going to be - is it nine?) hope he has a wonderful day (and lucky him having his birthday on a Saturday Smile)

smee · 25/05/2012 14:54

He's 8, Kurri. just bought some huge delicious strawberries and little pain au chocolates for his birthday breakfast. Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/05/2012 14:59

aw, I remember ds being 8 -we'd just moved here Smile Hope he has a lovely birthday xxx

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 25/05/2012 14:59

Mmm strawberries and pain au chocolate - lucky boy Smile

Sometimesiwonder · 25/05/2012 15:05

Happy 8th, little Smee! I am very jealous of his birthday breakfast Envy

I have done precious little today so there's no need to gaffer tape me down. Decided to stop takng the ibuprofen last night as it was affecting my acid reflux thing. Big mistake Sad Pouring them down myself now, reflux or no Hmm

Gracie - I agree with Baskets - no way does it mean the chemo isn't working. My periods stopped and never started again - but it can hit you in a variety of ways. None are indicative of anything, really.

Massive sympathies with the wig in this heat. Could you bear to go for scarves? They are pretty cool and comfy...

KurriKurri · 25/05/2012 15:14

Sometimes have the docs given you lansoprazole? - I always take that with anti inflamms. or I get the stomach problems too - surgery would be able to write you a prescript. for it over the phone I'm sure. (And might be able to give you some anti inflamms that aren't quite so bad for the reflux thing as ibuprofen - I usually get voltarol, which doesn't cause as many problems for me)

Sometimesiwonder · 25/05/2012 15:18

Oh, good thought, I am going down there in a sec to get the dressing changed.

Actually they did prescribe it for me, but it didn't come up from the pharmacy, I didn't know what it was for, and was desperate to get home so ignored its absence. Now I know what it's for i can see I shouldn't have been so hasty.

This thread is the bees knickers, isn't it? So much wisdom just sat there awaiting! Smile

NedSchneebly · 25/05/2012 16:04

Agree with what everyone has said about keeping up. Good that we're a busy thread though Smile

sometimes hope you can get some good meds to settle your stomach.

That would be my ideal birthday breakfast too smee master smee clearly has good taste.

My hands are shedding skin at an alarming rate - mind you, it's preferable to anything else, I suppose! Suppose I should probably stop picking it. . . Blush

DS dampened in paddling pool, currently sitting stark naked with damp hat on eating honey sandwiches, watching cbeebies. The bliss of being 4. . . He came home with a picture he'd drawn in school and written on the back was "to mummy I wish you wer betr and could run arownd" Sad

Gigondas · 25/05/2012 16:25

Aw ned big gig says same about me running about (to be fair I wasn't the most active before I had mini gig). She is in paddling pool to whilst mini gig watches (mini gig howled when put in ).

Suffering a bit post radio so enjoying resting .

Completely agree that I do read but cant keep up. Love the tip on managing stomach issues with ibuprofen.

Gracie how are you?

Topsy will engelbert and Eurovision fill an orange gap for you?

NedSchneebly · 25/05/2012 16:30

gig guess I should be pleased that it was mostly spelt correctly, or at least recognisable!

KurriKurri · 25/05/2012 16:32

DD and I are planning an evening of snacks and wine for watching eurovision - we haven't been able to have our mini eurovision party for 3 years because she's been at Uni. I'm so over excited Grin Engelbert is very orange - and he hasn't changed his hair since 1972.

KurriKurri · 25/05/2012 16:33

bless little Ned - how sweet. And that is pretty impressive spelling for a four year old - clever boy Smile

smee · 25/05/2012 17:16

Yes, little Ned, awesome spelling. i think at that age, my son could just about write his name and he still can't spell 'could'..

Am liking the idea of being in a paddling pool naked whilst watching the tv. Do you have to be 4 or under? Grin

amberlight · 25/05/2012 17:16

Slept at lunchtime, got up, went into office, burst into tears of exhaustion, came home again

smee · 25/05/2012 17:20

seriously Amber, give yourself a break. I prescribe strawberries and a crisp glass of something chilled.

amberlight · 25/05/2012 17:26

Wouldn't a crisp glass go all soggy when something's poured into it?

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/05/2012 17:27

oh amber - you don't know how to stop,do you ? Something chilled and delicious will help.
ned -clever ds- T certainly couldn't write properly at 4- he took ages to be able to write fluently- always a good speller though.
I have done something radical and had a tattoo on my wrist- it say's Calm, and I will be able to concentrate on it when I get in a whirl..I have been mulling it over for a while and decided to ask when I passed the tattoo studio this afternoon - it's a very strange sensation, like burning-quite ouchy as it's on inside of wrist. I have to use Bepanthen on it to keep it soft and soothed.

OP posts:
Gigondas · 25/05/2012 17:31

You need a plastic bowl in rubber ring or on toy boat for pool- I like your thinking smee

amber can see how hard to slow down when it's your own business but do so now .

kurri your party sounds ace.

mas I think tattoo looks nice. My sister has one on her ankle - a tiger . And my dad got 2 dolphins aged 58 (having gone on for years when we were kids about tattoos and body piercing being sign of mentally infirm). Maybe I should turn my biro smudge tattoos from radio into something artistic ...

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/05/2012 17:37

I've always liked a discreet tattoo on a person. Please stop me if I try to get another- though a little lotus flower would look nice

OP posts:
Gigondas · 25/05/2012 17:43

Stop - you are tempting me now...Wink

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/05/2012 17:46

MAS -that's very daring, I would love a little tattoo, - DDIL has a few gorgeous ones on her wrists and shoulders, and my niece has a couple, but it took me until I was nearly 40 to get my ears pierced.

A dolphin sound nice Gig - good on your Dad (do what I say, not what I do and all that Grin)

Amber -Sad sorry you have had a rough day, you know you are doing too much too soon, but I appreciate with your own business life is more complicated. Can you stop yourself thinking about work over the weekend and relax, weather will be lovely, feet up and lie in the sun. Smile

I am trying to work out how to alter a sundress for DD. It used to be mine when I was slimmer and had real boobs! - but it's a bit big for her especially across the back. Hmm - I have had her parade around in it while I poke her with pins, but she seems to have had enough of that! Grin

Gigondas · 25/05/2012 18:15

Bumble bee outfit ideas please for big gig on Tuesday (thanks nursery). I have no black/yellow Tee shirts or leggings of course ...
