Sparklingbrook · 25/11/2011 16:09

If they want you to stay you will need reassuring re the food situation. You don't want to try and live on yoghurt.

giraffesCantDookForApples · 25/11/2011 16:53

feel very abandoned here. One of reasons dont eat meat (including fish) is health reasons. Get very upset tummy ibs type if i do. It was her bitching nasty tone in coridor that she thought i couldnt hear that upset me. Was feeling very vulnerable and alone. Seen dr she says she cant discharge without her boss and cant contact him. Up to me if i want to sign out and will do me discharge plan. My friends dad in same ward next room. He asthma copd and has felt staff same. We should be resp ward but no beds.

Giraffes is being discharged.
She's getting a taxi to the other hospital to get her car, and then getting a takeaway on her way home.

Sparklingbrook · 25/11/2011 17:53

When's the boss coming back? I hope he hasn't gone home cos it's Friday.

Has any offer of a meal arrived yet? Have you got any visitors coming?

giraffesCantDookForApples · 25/11/2011 17:58

am outside yay! Waiting on taxi. To pick up more steroids tomo and discharge letter. Since its netto birthday having take away for her. And thanks to you for letting me cry for nearly an hour down phone toda.

giraffesCantDookForApples · 25/11/2011 18:05

sparkling they offered me suicid but said no thanks cos netto made me want mushroom

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 25/11/2011 18:07

Did you ever get your wristband?

giraffesCantDookForApples · 25/11/2011 21:55

Oh shit they didn't offer me suicide!!! It was QUICHE - bloody predictive text.

Nope no name band! Lucky I never collapsed in a corridor somewhere eh?! On sofa now snuggled up and having a neb - my own machine, at my own time, own pace, when I need it and not being rushed cos 3 others people need it.

Need to pop up tomorrow to pick up more steroids and discharge letter, very very glad to be out. Never going to that ward again.

Shame cos it makes me much less likely now to agree to admission, usually been cooperative in past but that was awful. My friends Daad was in same ward but male room, chatted to him and he said many things about the same as me about his experience. Spoken to same way. Told off for being on oxygen "wat have you got this on for? why have you got it up at 6?" It is hard to convey in text but the general attitude of a few staff was horrible - I think sometimes only takes that to bring whole team down. Makes me appreciate previous wards Ive been on!

Thanks for all support :)

I thought you meant Squid!! It's great that you are out. Own bed, own bathroom and peace and quiet!

Have a nice weekend. Smile

NettoSuperstar · 25/11/2011 23:08

I had squid from the Chinese!

Glad you're at home, it makes all the difference, but do go back to the Western if you get worse, and then refuse to move!

Northernlurker · 25/11/2011 23:14

Can you bear to make a complaint about that ward? Awful, awful 'care' MUST be challenged.

As for offering you suicide - that's totally out of order! Grin

giraffesCantDookForApples · 25/11/2011 23:45

I will, - need to go back to stinking ward tomorrow to get steroids and discharge letter. Might see if I can drag a pal with me!

squid?! I suppose itsprefereble theyoffer me that than suicide for eing a veggie

Northern - in 2 minds. At the moment I am physically weak, tired, shakey, chest pain, very breathless but worse I feel emotionally drained - and right now I cant face it. When you feel that vulnerable and people treat you like that its scary and you feel isolated.

But on other hand I have a voice, I could see what is going on and while I did say to nurse if no one chllanges then behaviour crries on. How would I complain? Certainly will think about it but when I am aa bit stroinger.

ps sorry typing, leyboard fucked, getting new soon

PS was your pals Mum a dominatrix?!

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 26/11/2011 07:08

Oh yes Moody how did insinuating your mate's mum was a dominatrix go down in the end? Grin

Hope you are feeling ok this morning giraffes.

MrsSnaplegs · 26/11/2011 07:29

Giraffes/ Netto I have only just seen this thread if you want to make a formal complaint I am happy to assist - one of my roles at work is healthcare governance so happy to help with the who to complain to and what to say although I can't do anything about dads buying big pantsGrin
PM me and we can email or chat if you want to. It sounds as if the care was definitely below standards expected even if they were busySad
Hope you are feeling better nowGrin

Moodykat · 26/11/2011 08:22

We spoke on the phone and she thought the idea was very funny. She went off to google and I haven't heard anything since! Confused

Sparklingbrook · 26/11/2011 08:23

Confused indeed! Hope your friendship survives this.....

putyourhatonsweetie · 26/11/2011 08:45

Thanks hat

mrs will pm you thanks - I am in Scotland thoughso not sure if it makes a difference?

Slept most of today, woke at 4.30pm! Shock Still lots of pain, not quite as breathless as I was lastnight, can now count up to 6 without needing a gasp of air. Went to hosp to pick up discharge letter and meds - they have given me loads of everything., oh well least I wont need a repeat prescrption for a while!

On more antibiotics again, they decided this after I left, which is actually good cos I m now coughing up white/wellow crap from my chest.

Got a steroids card thing too.
