hello giraffes,

hope you are feeling okay, perhaps someone into craft could fashion you some wings out of the pants so you can fly away if the hospital food is too naff?

keep smiling xx

NettoSuperstar · 24/11/2011 23:00

You're not a pound over a size 20. No idea what your Dad was thinking.

I'll be up on Saturday with the cheap red lace thongs, in a size 6 and cheap see through leggings. Grin

giraffesCantDookForApples · 24/11/2011 23:50

good plan for wings! Fuck off you cheesey bitch! Or else I will give your birthday present to the rah as a good service donation Wink dont wear red thong might excite me so much i wheeze!

OP posts:
NettoSuperstar · 25/11/2011 00:09

Wow, so much hatred!
Ok, sorry, no red thongs.

I will be up though, on Saturday, so get in your thong food orders before then.
Cheese sandwiches and Costa Brownies?

giraffesCantDookForApples · 25/11/2011 00:42

i am not planning on being here sat!!

OP posts:
giraffesCantDookForApples · 25/11/2011 05:24

this is such a horrible ward. They left a man shouting for help for ten min and so i pressed buzzer for him. Another 5min. if i needed neb quickly could get one easier at home than here!

OP posts:
kreecherlivesupstairs · 25/11/2011 06:39

But could you get your IVs at home?
It is awful being in hospital and you have my sympathy. But, you know you need to stay there.
You've got the excitement of red thongs to keep you going.

TheOriginalFAB · 25/11/2011 06:55

Maybe your dad went by the picture on the packet of the skinny model??

Hope you are feeling better, Giraffes.

hellhasnofury · 25/11/2011 06:57

Bless your dad, he's obviously bought knickers by age rather than size.

How are you today?

peanutmakinalistncheckinitwice · 25/11/2011 07:53

Morning how are you feeling today?
are you wearing your size 22s knotted at the sides, like a bikini Grin

CardyMow · 25/11/2011 09:48

How are you today, Giraffes? My anti-B's have kicked in, I feel a bit better - at least it doesn't feel like a horse has kicked me in the chest every time I breathe in, so that's an improvement. What about you?

spooktrain · 25/11/2011 09:54

Thinking of you Giraffes, hope they get their arses into gear and get you sorted out.

giraffesCantDookForApples · 25/11/2011 10:37

kept in. Said too breathless.

OP posts:
TheOriginalFAB · 25/11/2011 11:37

Oh no. Do you know when you are going to be able to go home?

giraffesCantDookForApples · 25/11/2011 13:45

this ward is awful. Rude staff, bitching about patients etc. Keep having to ask for nebs. They getting resp nurse up to speak to me and going to ask her what they doing here cant do at home. Heard nursing assistant bitching about me cos i vegetarian, told me all could give me is a yog for lunch. Many other things happened during night, ignoring patients, moaning within ear shot, muttering swear words when changing nappies. Fed up, feel like am in way and no diff treatment.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 25/11/2011 13:48

Sorry to hear that giraffes. How on earth can they not have any vegetarian food?? How dare you be ill in hospital and actually need anything! Confused

CeliaFate · 25/11/2011 13:48

That's appalling. Ask to speak to the person in charge of the ward and tell them you can hear their criticisms and complaints and it makes a difficult time a hell of a lot worse.

Then when you get home and are feeling better, write a strong letter of complaint.
Hope you have a better night.

giraffesCantDookForApples · 25/11/2011 13:50

kreecher not on iv or oxygen anymore. Have same med here as home.

OP posts:
BlueCat2010 · 25/11/2011 13:52

Don't forget the MN phrase - did you mean to be rude, cos it sounded like it!

Pull them on it sweetie, you don't deserve such awful treatment!

giraffesCantDookForApples · 25/11/2011 13:57

spoke to nurse. Btw sorry if this disjointed and missing out bits been texting friends and on phone to netto (who nurse thought was my mum!) so hard to remember who said what to. Nurse i burst in to tears to was nice. My issues - i have not been given wrist band. Repeatedly need to ask for nebs. Muttering swear infront of deaf ladies, and say ew yuk fuck sake when changing poo pad. Heard bitching about veg, heard saying why she still here if neb house, tone of assistant at lunch was horrid to me. Didnt believe me veg dont eat fish. And along with other patients said well you must be a vegan then. Er no i eat dairy! Nice nurse put me in relatives room. Was on phone netto for 45min, been in this room alone over an hour. No one looked in so cant argue monitoring me! Not slept cos radio at my bed is jammed on!

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 25/11/2011 14:02

That's shocking giraffes - hope you get back home asap. I would keep your head down for now but make a complaint when you've left. Are there any nearby MN who might be able to bring you emergency supplies in?

Sparklingbrook · 25/11/2011 14:03

My alarm got jammed on when I was in hospital so the helpful nurse came and sellotaped it off. Shock

Be good if you could get out today. Weekends are worse than in the week at hospital for nothing happening.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 25/11/2011 14:08

Sad for you Giraffes. I can't imagine there is a reason for keeping you there though if you don't need to be.
The diet thing is crazy. When I was last in an English hospital, I was waiting to have my gallbladder out. I was told to eat low fat food. Every day for about a week I had curry, which, while I like a nice one every now and then became monotonous. At the time I was vegetarian too.
I was lucky enough to be on a ward next door to the managers. I went in and, nicely told them what I thought.
Lo and behold, the next couple of days was cheese sandwiches. It seems that there was no middle ground whatsoever.
I was also disbelieved when I said I didn't eat eggs.
Chin up love, you've got your big pants to keep you company.

PontyMython · 25/11/2011 14:11

Aww giraffes I hope things improve really quickly. Including the undergarment situation!

And hi netto, I remember your thread when you were in hospital, i hope you're ok too.
