Ah, i have bloody sciatica that the painkillers just aren't touching. Add pregnancy insomnia and there you go. Also a bit nervous, have a home visit from a SN nursery later on today and we'll find out if DS3 has got a place there or not. Fingers crossed!

Hospitals are never bloody quiet really, are they? Hope you manage to get some rest x

putyourhatonsweetie · 24/11/2011 04:11

my hand is still here. Hope you are felling a bit better and that you have had some rest.

cupofteaplease · 24/11/2011 04:30

You are in the best place, as noisy as it is Smile I hope you manage to get some rest and comfort.

I'm sorry you feel upset, have a virtual hug from me.

Drs were bit intimidating and clear as mud, you know when its a huge group. Will ask nurse to clarify plan when they finished washing people.

Boo Sad
What have they fed you?
Was it edible?

NettoSuperstar · 24/11/2011 18:16

Giraffes is being transferred to another hospital, it's the one that her specialist (and mine, we have the same one) is based at, and is pretty good as hospitals go. I had a week there last year.
If she's still there on Saturday, I'll be able to visit as it's on the train line for me.
(I have brittle asthma too so can't walk far or mess about with public transport much)

Sparklingbrook · 24/11/2011 18:52

Thanks for the update Netto. What is 'brittle' asthma (hope you don't mind me asking you).

Get well soon giraffes.

SarahStratton · 24/11/2011 18:55

Thanks Netto.

Thinking of you giraffes, get well soon. :)

NettoSuperstar · 24/11/2011 20:02

brittle asthma
I have type 2.

I'll update again once I have news, if Giraffes doesn't herself.
Not sure what phone coverage for her network is like in that hospital, and no doubt they'll be getting docs to see her once she gets there.

They do have TV's there though, and serve the tea in mugs which is most important.

The staff are all lovely too, and as I said, her specialist is based there, and he's brilliant.

Sparklingbrook · 24/11/2011 20:10

Thanks Netto. I had no idea there were different types of asthma. Blush

NettoSuperstar · 24/11/2011 20:28

Neither did I!
I had the 'normal' type, for 20 years, you know, bit wheezy when you have a cold, take inhalers when needed and no big deal, until I developed this and ended up on a ventilator and registered disabled at 33. Shock

It's been a long, and hard lesson!

giraffesCantDookForApples · 24/11/2011 20:29

still in first hosp been waiting for ambulance for over two hours now.

Hope your transfer goes well giraffes, and that your consultant can sort you out. My dd is a type 2 brittle asthmatic too. She is currently fighting yet another chest infection.

giraffesCantDookForApples · 24/11/2011 20:34

dad at other hosp says name on board and my bed ready! So am taking up two beds in two hosp!!! Mad! They sort of forgotten about me cos moving and had to ask for neb cos really breathless.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 24/11/2011 20:35

Have you got anyone with you giraffes? Nothing moves fast when leaving hospitals I find.

Netto-I have learnt something new today. Sad

NettoSuperstar · 24/11/2011 21:16

Giraffe's Dad has visited her in hospital, he had to go from one to another, as she is registered at one, but in the other Confused, and has brought her pants, though they are at least 10 sizes too big.

Maybe we should have a 'Giraffes needs the right size pants', campaign?
Grin

giraffesCantDookForApples · 24/11/2011 22:24

in ambulance now with 3 other patients. A normal sized ambulance! On way to gartnavel

OP posts:
CardyMow · 24/11/2011 22:25

Hope you are feeling a little better, Giraffe. Both me and DS2 have type 2 brittle asthma, though DS2's is worse than mine - I was dxd at 9yo, DS2 was dxd at 7mo - he had had 3 life-threatening asthma attacks already by that age.

I'm in for the 'Giraffe needs the right size pants' campaign! Grin
