Getting long again.
Batters, I got your CAT, thanks so much. I tried to email you but it bounced back, so I'll try again later. (My answer is positive!)

OK, another day over with Droile, and we'll be thinking of you between now and Tuesday.

Is there anyone who can come with you and be your advocate / extra pair of ears in the meeting? It does seem that it would be better if only the people who can actively give you info are in the room..or is that something you're now beginning to feel more indifferent about?

walkinginawinterBundleland · 15/12/2005 10:44

I agree with Marina, Droile, I know teaching is part of the whole shebang in hospitals but you could explain how sensitive you are feeling at the moment and would really prefer to limit the numbers in the room.

PottyinaPearTree · 15/12/2005 10:52

Glad it went OK Droile and will be thinking of you next week - could they make it any closer to Christmas (roll-eyes emoticon).

Agree with both Marina and Blu about having another pair of ears in the room with you next week, maybe a liasion nurse of some description. If you want/need less onlookers then tell them so, they can have a case conference when you've gone - which they'll do anyway.

Look after each other.

FastasleepInAManger · 15/12/2005 11:25

Droile are you still with Alder Hey or back in Manchester now?

I've missed your other threads, so sorry to hear it was cancer ...

If you're still in Alder Hey in oncology my cousin (in law!) Mark is in there still, he's just gone 3...His mum Jayne would be happy to befriend you and tell you about stuff if you need an ear or some advice or anything (she's a neuro nurse too)

I know I mentioned her already! And you're probably back in Manc!

Best of luck anyway xxxx chemo is a real b*tch... but you'll get through it together xxxx

MARINAtivityPlay · 15/12/2005 12:29

Fastasleep, they are still at Alder Hey so your advice could really help Droile.
wishing your cousin and his mum all the best for his treatment XXX

How did it go Droile? Thinking of you and your ds.

Clarinet60 · 21/12/2005 09:48

Thanks for all your nice posts.
We're back. The scan showed only a tiny amount of growth - a milimetre, and there needs to be at least 2 milimetres before chemo is warranted, so he's got a stay of execution until at least April. They were very pleased with how well he's doing and said they don't think it will explode out of control - it's stable ATM, but warned us that that tumour type does tend to progress.
So we are pleased (it would have been better if there had been no change, but that was unlikely).
The chemo, when he has it, will not be as demanding as some other chemos, so that's great news. The problems we've had with his appetite are probably related to his medication, so we have to see his neurologist.
Mr Mallucci was looking even more gorgeous than ever (sorry, couldn't resist......I'm getting the tummy bug now, so I must be delerious..........)

That would be nice, Fastasleep.
