No, I said 'LOTS of meat' Grin

I know what you mean about new stuff. It's such a lovely evening, we've been out in the garden looking at how best to landscape the area around your holiday home.

It's coming along nicely Grin

Go boxing, it can only do you good!

bastards.

I will share my tale of woe, will cheer you all up.

Been working arse off and had to stay away over night. So booked 'superior' room for £165. Got there, receptionist ignored me, finally got seen, room was dark pokey crap etc and no bath. On website it said all rooms had baths and after working since 7am with a 4 hour journey and getting there at 7pm I wanted a bath!

Rang reception they finally, after much muttering, moved me. I mentioned to the man that the website said all rooms had a bath, he said 'It definitely does NOT say that', so I showed him the sheet in the room which said the same thing. He just muttered. New room was nice (massive bed, open fireplace etc) but:

no toiletries in bathroom
no milk for tea/coffee
no thingy on how to use tv
bath still dirty from previous user

anyway, after lots of trips to reception and mutterings from them, got mainly sorted.

Had room service and went to bed. Woke up couple of hours later and was violently sick in the bathroom. Felt terrible, couldnt stop being sick. Spent rest of night ill, then had to go to a client meeting for FOUR HOURS while trying not to hurl Grin It was horrific Grin

Then had trip back on train while also trying not to hurl for 4 hours.

Oh the joy.

Anyway, today I complained to the hotel....

FuppyGish · 08/04/2011 20:06

didn't mention the food poisioning, couldnt be arsed, just mentioned all the rest.

Got fairly polite email back but in it it said 'On a separate note, I am sorry that you were ill and do hope you're feeling better now' Shock

So basically the bitch was referring to the fact that I left sick on a towel (in the bath, couldnt exactly take it home and wash it!) to 'get me back' for complaining.

I've just gone back and said how unprofessional of her it was to mention it (especially in such a nasty round about way) and that as it was her hotel that gave me food poisioning it was a bloody cheek!! Shock

So thats my take of woe.

On the plus side I lost a stone over the last week and a half Grin

Bitter - red paint???????

mouseface · 08/04/2011 20:34

Fups me ol' mucker. Sorry you were nearly killed by a hotel's food. Jeez, you and near death experiences are really close mates aren't you? Wink

What a bunch of unprofessional misery arses. I hate that, when you go to a hotel and find it's actually a shit hole, when they claim it's not! Grin

Anywho, I'm off to spend some time with my boys. I'm going to ask for some help with Nemo. I can't communicate with him or him with me and he's getting so frustrated that he's lashing out.

So, I need help. There, I said it.

Be good lushies, mwahs to you all. xxxxxxx

FuppyGish · 08/04/2011 20:46

Of course you need help numnuts, you'd be insane if you didn't. Have you thought about macaton? (if thats how its spelt)

Enjoy your snuffly time. xxx

TotalChaos · 08/04/2011 21:23

Mousey - you can't do it absolutely all yourself - bit like you wouldn't do Nemos surgeries yourself, you need SALT to use her professional training to say what the issues are with Nemo and what realistic next steps would be. Obv Nemo's issues and my DS's are different (as my DS's were autistic type language problems - at 3 his language both expressive and receptive were severely delayed - either he was like Father Jack out of Father Ted "milk!", "biscuit"!etc or was quoting verbatim from Dora the Explorer, in the most random of contexts, so bizarre. So I do have some experience of communication difficulties myself. What worked with us was stripping language back, and using visuals -pointing etc and even photos to back up - basically assume that DS wasn't understanding us unless there was any evidence to the contrary.

I don't know what SALT has discussed with you other than Makaton - there are other visual aids you can use, such as choice boards and I don't know if you have heard of PECs (Picture Exchange Commmunication System) that can be v useful to kickstart communication.

FuppyGish · 08/04/2011 21:40

Oi Total - you're normal. Was this hotel woman being a bitch or not? I havent got over her snide reference to my illness yet. Have sent a snotty email back. Tell me I'm not BU. Grin

TotalChaos · 08/04/2011 21:48

me? normal? fuck me, flattery will get you everywhere. I think you are probably right it's a subtle dig - as on first reading you think - aah that's nice, but then on second reading - hang on, if I didn't say I had been ill.

I think YANBu anyway at giving them snotty e-mails if you reckon they food poisoned you. gavel. and if no joy, just say you are contacting your Gp on Monday to enquire about doing stool/vomit samples Wink
