here we go !

Very sore, but can't see too much bruising yet. The breast is swollen a bit, but I still have the dressing on, not wanting to look too closely.

Just had emergency call from school ds in pain....waiting to hear back from them.

I know this is the same for many people, and everyone on here, but life sucks. Sad

Cakesandale · 08/12/2010 14:10

Yes it certainly can do - but only in between the good bits Wink.

Hope ds is OK.

SparkleRainbow · 08/12/2010 14:20

I have got an infection in my breasts too, and ds not good so off to school now. Waiting for the good bits to come back, no sign yet.

smee · 08/12/2010 14:23

Sparkle, I don't think it can be the Biopsy either. The hospital would have called you direct if it was that. Hope it's nothing.

'eck Cakes, threading sounds worse than some of the hospital stuff I've been through. I must get in touch with my girly side though, as I am beginning to look like a Werewolf. They do it in the market near us. It's an outdoor stall and people stand and watch. Strange what passes for entertainment round here. Xmas Grin

Cakesandale · 08/12/2010 14:25

Your GP seems to be on the ball, then, at least. That's what he thought, didn't he?

What is he proposing? Sending positive stuff for poor old ds.

And hoping that some more good bits present themselves in the sparkles household soon.

smee · 08/12/2010 14:26

x-posted, so only just seen your latest Sparkles. Big bah to DS being poorly again. Not your week, now is it. Curl up on the sofa and get something nice from the cupboard for you and the kids to snack on as you never know, it might help. Next week'll be better. Got to be.

ItsKurriiiistmas · 08/12/2010 15:24

Poor Sparkles, was it the infection the surgery were phoning about? Are they going to try another anti biotic? And poor little DS too, hope he's feeling more comfortable soon. Have you got plenty of soft pillows, or something you can lie on in bed, - to make it a bit more comfy when you lie down? And make sure you take pain killers to take the edge off it.

I hope DD doesn't have any more problems from the bully Cakes, with a bit of luck her retaliation will shock the other girl into leaving her alone, - let's hope!

Brian Connelly - there's a blast from the past, I didn't know he was dead either.

Good luck with the threading Smee if you go for it, it sounds excruciating interesting Grin.

It was my DS who was the ironing elf, - unfortunately he's left home now, so I have to do it myself, or rely on DH (very much not an ironing elf.)

Just discovered my hot water bottle has burst and leaked all over my bed, leaving a large soggy patch on the mattress. At least it didn't burn anyone though. Think I will have to stand over the mattress with a hairdryer - what fun!

Cakesandale · 08/12/2010 15:52

Oh yuk

SparkleRainbow · 08/12/2010 16:10

ooo wet bed kk not good.

Ds at home now, in some pain but not too bad. It was the gp ringing up about the swab he took. He felt that the Consultant should have done a swab to identify if there was any infection and treat it appropriately with the correct anti bio, rather than blasting me with massive doses of broad spectrum leaving me allergic to penicillin. He has prescribed me a specific anitbiotic and the pharmacist thought I could still drink with this one (yes I asked.....Xmas Blush). So we will see. It would appear that they are treating the infection and the lump as too separate issues. I am not really sure what is happening now. Think I might make an appointment to talk to gp face to face, need to talk to him about ds anyway, could make double appointment I guess.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/12/2010 16:10

oh poor Sparkle and Sparkle ds - what a whirl for you- sending you lots of soothing thoughts.
Eek about hotbottle KK - but at least you weren't scalded- they do perish after a while, don't they.
Hooray for Cakes' mini jackie Chan - how satisfying Xmas Grin
Ds home having handed in his cheque for the O2 thing, but had to go to lunch time rehearsal and therefore had no lunch Sad Have just compiled a plate of toast and honey,a passion fruit,Marmite rice cakes,a mango and banana bar,a tangerine, some apple,a chocolate cookie and hot chocolate to keep him going through piano until supper.
Lots of love to all especially Sparkle

Brian Connelly, dead?! He wasn't that old, or am I thinking of the wrong person....kind of stand up/presenter?

SparkleRainbow · 08/12/2010 16:18

Just occurred to me you might mean Brian Connolly as in Sweet......., duh such a doufus! sorry

SparkleRainbow · 08/12/2010 16:18

Cos he is dead, ages ago late 1990's I think....

smee · 08/12/2010 16:27

Sparkle, yes it is Sweet man. I think you're right to go for a bit of straight talking with the GP too. Sounds like you need a bit of clarity. Glad you can drink on those pills. I am embarrassed to say that I haven't even thought about whether I can or not on mine. I just am... Grin

MAS, I want those snacks. Envy We've been stuck in for two days, so the cupboards in Smeeland are a bit bare. DH back tonight, so hooray for that.

Cakesandale · 08/12/2010 16:37

MAS I am deeply impressed, both by the array of snacks and by the playing at the O2. Way.To. Go.

Sparkles - what can I say. At least you can drink. A nurse I know told me you usually can, in moderation.

ItsKurriiiistmas · 08/12/2010 16:41

Sounds like a good idea to have a chat with the GP Sparkles, to find out what's going on. Hopefully these AB's will help - having an infection for this long will have been very draining for you. Pleased that DS is a little better.

MAS - Am loving your SS gifts, how lovely - enjoy your chocs. Smile Must say I like the sound of DS's plate of snacks - yum!

The bank have phoned twice this afternoon, with some sort of stupid recorded message thing where I had to press numbers to answer, you know where they insert your name into the message (apparently I am called Kath -ur -eeeen Hmm). I hung up on the second one because it was the same as the first. We are going in to see them tommorow, so DH can kick ass Grin

Think I may sleep on the settee tonight as bed is still rather damp.

smee · 08/12/2010 17:07

Kurri, could you tip the mattress on side and prop against radiator maybe?

Tomorrow's bank meeting sounds stressful. Are you good cop to DH's bad - or is there no good cop? Doesn't sound like they deserve one, that's for sure.

ItsKurriiiistmas · 08/12/2010 17:59

good plan with the mattress - I'll get DH to do it when he gets home (it's a bit heavy for me to lift atm).

I think I am usually 'very fed up and wants to go home' cop Grin

ItsKurriiiistmas · 08/12/2010 18:01

My mum has just phoned and said she has a very strong feeling she is going to win the lottery tonight and will divide her winnings between us

SparkleRainbow · 08/12/2010 19:21

I had that feeling the other week, when it was a big roll over.....still here and not on spending spree....Xmas Grin

Sleeping in a damp bed is not good, I think radiator idea is a good one, and good excuse to whack the radiator temperatures up too.

Got dc into bed early, don't know whether they or I am the most shattered. Seems weird this whole infection idea, I have had no symptoms of an infection, temperature etc. I am knackered at the moment, and have been for a while, but to be honest I think that is just life. I was hoping 2010 would be a big improvement on 2009, but it has been the opposite, so I am definitely not wishing for hat again this New Year in case I jinxed it.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/12/2010 19:38

hope mattress does dry out in time for bed and that the bank trip isn't too stressful tomorrow.
Keep warm and try to relax Sparkle - am sending you virtual chocolates from the giant box

Blimey, I'm away at work and there's a novel to read here on return.

Sorry about infections Sparkles, and poorly DS, and wet mattress KK.

Hooray re lippy Cakes. I've never really got into lippy and its a shame as my mouth is one of my better features (!) - better than my nose anyway... so I think I'll have a look at the range you said (its gone straight out of my head)

Smee- my eyebrows have returned v. enthusiastic too - I love them actually as they were over-plucked before so I now feel I have better features! And my hair is great now - definitely Annie Lennox/Judi Dench! I'm totally beautiful really Grin

DH and I have just done big clean-up - very unlike us but builders had left thick layer of dust everywhere in living room so a major effort was called for. Now we can return to our slovenly normal ways.Xmas Smile

smee · 08/12/2010 21:02

Seriously hope your mum was right Kurri. Just how amazing would that be?! There's Cakes with her lippie and your Mum on the lotto. Xmas Grin

SR, enthusiastic eyebrows are lovely to behold, but they're growing in all the wrong places. Was never one for plucking much, but give it a few days and I reckon I could scare children..

Glad your builders have gone though. Does that mean the woodworm has too? Here's to being slovenly. Xmas Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 09/12/2010 07:12

oh dear- drama in the MAS parental home - mum fell down the stairs (lost her footing-she is terribly wobbly anyway) Dad rang and asked me to come round so sprinted up the garden- thank goodness we live so close- she was very pale and shaking and had a head wound (fortunately very minor) Called an ambulance and the paramedics were great -really took their time to check her over-nothing broken, just bruising and shock.
I had to see to her head and began to feel a bit wooo so handed over to dad - pathetic I know. Poor thing-she will be very sore today..dad will get the gp to come and see her.Sad
