ive come back for another rant. This was is specifically for SAF and other feminism board posters/lurkers.

Just talking to my father, I happened to say something about my dp used to be a project manager at work yet how weird that is because he cant even remember to put dd's wipes in a bag.

So my dad says to me 'well that's different, project managing is work, its really intense, its not like remembering to put shoes in a bag for gods sake' (with 'silly girl' tone of voice'), I replied 'I know what project managing is, I do it.' Him 'well, not really' Me - 'Ermm yes I do, its my job and I earn 3 times what my DP does so I think actually I must be quite good at it', him 'that doesnt apply, I had plenty of people under me who earn what you do and were no good'

Me - arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

To explain - I can't be a project manager, I can't earn 3 x what my dp earns, I can't understand any of that because IM A FUCKING WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and my dd has been with them overnight and apparently she said to them 'did you bring mummy up to be so silly?' No they laughed, 'shes just silly all on her own'. Oh thanks.

i honestly believe he doesn't think i am succesful, really. He shouldnt be threatened by it, he earnt twice what i earn (its like that two ronnies sketch, i look down on him and i look down on him and i... etc ).

Just weird. i really should be used to it by now. And i should stop jumping and saying 'but ive got a degree' 'ive got a job' 'ive got x y z' i should just say 'think what you like' and not respond further. gah.

Phew, I feel better for that nap. I've had lunch and showered and got out of my pjs. But it's black and cold and rainy here. Yuk.

Want my pjs back on!! We are having our fire wood delivered tomorrow, annual event so as soon as the nights get a bit more frosty, we can have the log burner going and snuggle up to that.

SAF - you made me howl with visions of you tip-toeing up the stairs trying to avoid the paint! Kind of thing I do!

Prime - sounds lovely. I heart snuggling. Especially with DS. He is uber snuggly.

Fluffs - your dad never fails to shock me. He just refuses to accept that you earn decent money, have a middle management job (IIRC, that where PMs sat when I recruited them) and work bloody hard running the house, raisig the girls and doing your sewing too.

Why does he try to belittle you and make it seem like you don't count? I'm sorry he does Fluffs, really I am. It's easy to say ignore him but he's your dad so I can see how it's hard for you to do that. xx
