Caucasian parents with brown and blue eyes, children's eye colour?

Hi everyone, sorry I was not sure in what subject I should post this.
I'm curious to find out the eye colour probability of children whom caucasian parents have blue and brown eyes, to see what are the odds my child could have blue eyes, if I had one more.
My dad had brown eyes, my mum has blue eyes, I have brown eyes, my toddler has brown eyes but his dad has blue eyes.
If we had another child is the chance him/her having have blue eyes about 50/50 or less?
Does anyone's family have similar eye coulours and what were the children's eye colour?

Db and sil are blue/brown. One dc is blue eyed blond and the other has brown eyes and red hair which is a very striking combination. So obviously it had been 50/50 for them.

Eye colour is quite complicated, much more complicated than the simple blue/brown chart we are taught at school..

OP, no one can give you definitive percentages.

You children are likely to be brown or blue, but could probably also be Hazel, grey, green etc.

Can be anything. Both my husband and I have brown eyes, my son has blue eyes. Only one grandparent out of 4 has blue eyes

DH and all his family have brown. I and all mine have blue.

It depends on the grandparents too, I have blue and my partner has brown, his dad has blue as well as my father and I have 3 grandparents with blue. Our son has blue

It’s likely you are Bb (because your Mum had blue eyes) and your partner must be bb (brown is a dominant allele so will override other colours) so if there is a B the eye colour will be brown.

The options would be Bb, Bb, bb and bb. Anything with a B is brown and 2xb is blue.

DH has two tone green/blue eyes. So far we have one DD who’s eyes are brown with a hint of green but not as obviously hazel as mine. DS due in a few weeks so we will see!

I know a couple where mum has dark hair and dark brown eyes, dad has light blond hair and bright blue eyes.
Both kids have his exact colouring.

In our case mother brown eyes, father blue eyes and both children have green eyes.
I assume we must both carry a recessive green gene.

As I understand it there has to be a grandparent on each side with blue eyes to give a chance of their grandchildren having blue eyes even if the other grandparents and parents have brown eyes.

Not necessarily. My DH’s full Indian and I’m half (half romany). He has way more blue & blonde haired people in his family than I do. None of the grandparents or have blue eyes but almost all the grandchildren do - my DS is the only exception lol.

I have brown hair blue eyes, one ds has brown hair and bluey/hazel/grey ish eyes and one has brown eyes and blond hair. My ex h does have brown eyes though, everyone in my family have very blue eyes!
My ex h family has extremely strong noticeable genes, you'd be able to tell they were family instantaneously, our children funnily enough look exactly like me and my side of the family which I never expected!

i remember learning in school about brown eye gene being a dominant gene and blue eyes a recessive gene. Therefore brown eyes more likely.

my parents were both blue eyed, I have green and my brother has blue.

an aunt on Dad's side has hazelish eyes and their mother (my GM) had blue eyes

dh had brown eyes and of our children the two boys are brown eyed and dd is green.

My eyes do change though even now, from khaki to a much brighter obvious green.
