shall i tell?

VineGuyFawkesFeltMyTits · 03/11/2008 13:08

Aww ok then

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by and . So if you type www.mumsnet.com, the link will display as www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at this page", would display "Look at this page".

You can find this under the smileys on the bottom right hand said of your page btw

SlartyBartFast · 03/11/2008 13:08

actually the one i did earlier i did wrong
well it was confusing.
i linked the thread i was on to the current thread,

SlartyBartFast · 03/11/2008 13:09

oh so did vinegartits, only on purpose

VineGuyFawkesFeltMyTits · 03/11/2008 13:09

opps x-post slarty, i would have held out for a while if i had seen yours first

SlartyBartFast · 03/11/2008 13:10

hint - you have to have both threads open at the same time, well not really, but it is easier i find

Mhamai · 03/11/2008 13:11

I mean in simple language not ikea instuction language. Soupy showed me how to do the old stylee links in dummy language and it worked. I want dummy instuctions!
Please?

i don't understand "old" way -
i press control v, or the copy button on the thread thing at the top of the page, and then control c, or paste, with these surrounding it.
any good

VineGuyFawkesFeltMyTits · 03/11/2008 13:16

ok first highlight and copy the link to the thread you want to link to(hint: just copy the address bar)

then insert 2 of these [

then paste your link

then type a space, then type 'here'

then type 2 of these ]

so it should look like this:

link here

Mhamai · 03/11/2008 13:20

Ooh sorry, not meaning to ignore you, will come back and do it shortly. Ta muchly btw.

so why would you link to email {envy]

VineGuyFawkesFeltMyTits · 03/11/2008 13:30

Slarty, your link should automatically open a new page, if not just right click on it and choose 'open new page' or 'open new tab' from menu
