Thanks Ursula :)

Marmite what about planning something like a bit of a garden renovation if you have one? Doesn't have to be on a grand scale but sorting out planting schemes can be nice to think about. Or get some chickens Grin

Kitten you are a genius!!!!!

Off to do that straight away

Thank you for saving my Christmas cake Smile

PandaG · 13/12/2018 07:57

Disney - I did exactly the same thing, but realised once the cake was in the tin but before it was in the oven. I added some spices to the tin and gave it a good stir, so hoping the flavour will have mixed through the cake!

The first Xmas Grin.
I hope you get ds home soon so that you can see how he is and set him on course again. It must be such a worry when he is not under your eye.

DS is home and relaxing in the wholesale way only he can do.

Dd has her last exam (Greek) today. She thought the others went ok but is worried about this one.
I fly up tomorrow, stay overnight with my Mum and then we both come back on the train on Saturday.

I would like to say we can then settle into a week of Christmas preparations and outings but unfortunately ds has a psychiatric appointment on Tuesday so we have a day trip back to his university city for that. He has been waiting for it since the summer so I don't want to cancel as who know how much longer he will have to wait.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/12/2018 11:34

I hope it goes well NoHaudin, it will be lovely to have them all back :)

The first - saw it! Grin

I've just got back from picking DS's stuff up - he's coming back on the train tomorrow night as he has a late afternoon lecture - went today as I didn't particularly want to do the journey there and back through Friday night rush hour traffic. I am in possession of two huge bags of dirty laundry and and Xbox. Priorities.

He is full of a nasty cold - off to London for the weekend on Saturday morning so I'm sure he'll feel fine for that.

He's had his first essay and an assessment marked - he's done extremely well. Onwards and upwards next term.

starfleet · 13/12/2018 16:52
  • an Xbox
Nettleskeins · 13/12/2018 17:03

I spoke to ds1 yesterday, he sounded very sleepy as he had been up all night finishing an essay, and pleased because he had passed some test or other. Not back till Monday. (time for me to prepare some nourishing food to keep in the fridge even if he doesn't observe mealtimes)

I've done two runs under Ikm this week with my new (cheapy...ended up going to Sports Direct alas) Asics. Every bone in my lower body aches..especially my ankles, but at least not my actual feet (which usually hurt terribly in the wrong shoes, very high arches) I feel slightly more energetic as a result of this unwonted exercise though, the fug of Christmas has not descended.. Ds2 is helping with a year 7 play in school this evening, and dd is suffering from the sort ofsore throatthatdoesn't seem to have stopped her singing [huskily] or shouting at the rest of us. will ds1 actually fit back in the house, I'm not quite sure...

Haudin you are very

Nettleskeins · 13/12/2018 17:05

sorry,ds2 appeared..Haudin you are very brave to go back again, but I amsure it is wellworth it to get the appointment overwith.

TheFirstOHN · 13/12/2018 17:16

NoHaudin hope Tuesday's appointment goes well.

starfleet · 13/12/2018 18:15

NoHaudin hope all goes well for your DS's appointment next week.

Nettles well done with your running. I hadn't run for a while so thought I'd start back earlier this year with a couch to 5k group at the local track to ease myself in. Got there, did a couple of laps, then another and so it carried on. We ran 5k - no one told me the couch to 5k session was before and this was the intermediate - everyone there was training for a 10k run at the weekend. I couldn't feel my legs afterwards. I gave up and did my own 2k morning route instead when I was able to stand back up!

marmiteloversunite · 13/12/2018 19:36

I made my cheat Waitrose Xmas cake today. Yay! Wore me out but it is looking lovely. Waiting now to be fed for a week before decorating. Nice to achieve something. CakeXmas Smile

UrsulaPandress · 13/12/2018 19:43

Remind me to feed mine tomorrow

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/12/2018 20:20

That's funny starfleet :) I do like a bit of a run, I feel more energetic when I run regularly. It's crap for my joints, fab for my mental health.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/12/2018 20:21

Well done Marmite! I bet it's gong to be delicious!

OP posts:
TheFirstOHN · 13/12/2018 21:35

He's back, and has brought four loads of laundry with him. Looking skinny but OK.

NoHaudinMaWheest · 13/12/2018 22:12

marmite that's a good achievement.

starfleet Well done to your ds.

Dd didn't think Greek went well, but her course work counts too so she should be ok overall.

Knotaknitter · 13/12/2018 22:16

I promised myself I'd run once I lost five stone which was just at the same time the doctor proclaimed my knees to be arthritic and told me to keep one foot on the floor. No running.

Walking it is then.
