I'm Scottish, so broon sauce please. If you don't have that, then plenty vinegar. I don't have salt.

I never put salt on chips (don't really put salt on anything) and only occasionally put vinegar. Chips are nice just on their own

Well, for a start, it wouldn’t even be fish and chips for me…because in my family it is an unwritten rule that we order battered sausage and chips from the chippy, while still calling it ‘fish and chips’. It’s been that way since I was little and, fortunately, this also makes sense to my DH 😂

No salt or vinegar for me - just chip shop curry sauce over the lot!

When I actually have fish and chips in a pub/restaurant, it’s salt on the chips and mushy peas on the side!

Heavy with the salt a vinegar and then curry sauce.

Vinegar, then salt, but only on the chips. Lemon on the fish and a hefty dollop of tartare sauce on the side.
