What's your favourite soup?

Mines cream of tomato 🍅

Just had tomato and basil, it was nice, but no where near as good as cream of tomato.

It tasted a bit pasta sauce-ish.

Chicken & sweetcorn with Chinese flavours at the moment as I've just made some.
Next week it will probably be different.

Always cream of tomato. Its just pure comfort food for me. If I'm feeling adventurous i also love carrot and coriander with a naan bread for dipping ☺️❤️

My favourite is a really nice (and very easy) store cupboard one with tinned chopped tomatoes, tinned chickpeas, soup pasta, chilli flakes, garlic, rosemary and veg stock, extra virgin olive oil on top when it's served, it is sooo good.

I also like to make a sort of cream of tomato with passata, veg/chicken stock, rosemary or basil, seasoning and a pinch of sugar heated together and then cream stirred in at the end. It's as easy as a tin, but nicer 😊

Close second to the first recipe is the soup I make at Christmas with the turkey stock, turkey pieces, leek, rice/wild rice and loads of black pepper.

Cream of tomato and leek and potato, can’t decide which one I like more.

Bookfishtea · 11/05/2026 19:20

Carrot and coriander, pea and mint and leek and potato.

Egyptian lentil soup. Just chopped onions, red lentils, garlic (I use garlic paste) and two lemon halves cooked in stock with cumin until lentils go mushy, then fish out and squeeze out the lemons, blitz, add salt, more cumin to taste, and extra lemon juice. There are loads of recipes online, many with tomatoes, potatoes and/ or carrots, but I prefer without.

grimgrinningghost · 11/05/2026 19:23

Mushroom soup is the very best soup. Delicious
