I wish DP would rock up with lovely fresh bread.

I‘ve added vegetarian shepherds pie to my list and also jacket potatoes with cheese and coleslaw (beans for DP as he’s gone off coleslaw).

CandiedPrincess · 01/02/2026 12:14

Been ill recently but getting back into routine so this week -

Monday: Ramen
Tuesday: Halloumi with broccoli tabbouleh & honey-harissa dressing with flatbread
Wednesday: Aubergine parmigiana with garlic bread
Thursday: White bean caesar style salad with garlicky broccoli
Friday: Eating out with family
Saturday: Black bean birria with tortillas
Sunday: Creamy leek, sprout + butterbean gratin with a green salad

(Note, the kids will probably eat differently...fussy blighters!)

(Also note, we are not actually vegetarian, but tending to eat more that way)

DilkushaKitchen · 01/02/2026 16:15

My daughter goes back to uni tomorrow, so we're back down to 3 😔

We've had/are having

Saturday: Nigella's Spanish chicken with chorizo and potatoes, broccoli and sweetcorn. Haven't had this in a while and was MiL's first taste of chorizo. I think she liked it!

Today: Squash caponata with rosemary polenta

Monday: Tantanmen-style ramen, recipe box from Riverford with shiitake mushrooms

Tuesday - Chicken saag, maybe Steve's spiced lentils too, but don't really have any room for the leftovers in the freezer

Wednesday: Chicken and smoked sausage jambalaya

Thursday: Another recipe box! This one's turkey meatballs in marinara sauce

Friday: Squash and puy lentil surprise (not sure what's to surprising about it!), maple and black pepper roasted swede

Iamnotaloggrip · 01/02/2026 17:39

This week’s list:

Mon - sausages with root veg and mash
Tues - curry (DP will cook so not sure which one)
Wed - jacket spuds with tuna and salad
Thurs - chilli with rice
Fri - Tuscan chicken orzo
Sat - homemade pizzas
Sun - roast, hopefully beef

Ijwwm · 01/02/2026 21:25

I love reading all these planners. This week it’s:

Sat - chicken in black bean sauce with basmati rice
Sun - beef bourguignon, Yorkshire pud, roast potatoes, peas and carrots
Mon - jacket potato, sausages and beans
Tue - meatballs in rustic sauce, rice and garlic bread
Weds - cottage pie, peas and carrots
Thu - jacket potato and chilli
Fri - burger in brioche bun with onion rings

SharpLemonShark · 02/02/2026 08:20

Yesterday we were supposed to be taking my parents out for a pub lunch but they’re both under the weather so that’s off til next week. We stayed home and had a veggie sausage tray bake with balsamic glaze.

Today: Roasted cauliflower & lentil curry, rice
Tuesday: Cheesy vegetable lasagne, salad, garlic bread
Wed: Lemon garlic salmon, roast veg, baby potatoes
Thurs: Honey sriracha tofu with sesame noodles & veg
Fri: Black bean burgers, salad, sweet potato wedges

Bank holiday here but typically I woke at 6 🙄. So my veg for tomorrow’s lasagne have been roasted (plus extra cos one to eat, one for the freezer) and I’ve made a big pot of soup for lunches through the week.

SpaceOP · 02/02/2026 11:16

Tonight: Baked chicken with new potatoes and veg
Tomorrow: Lamb and chickpea cassesrole (which DD will mostly not eat)
Wed: I'm out. DH makign chicken burgers
Thursday: Pork tacos with a mango and avocado salsa
Friday: "Green" gnocchi - home made pesto, greens and mozzarella

I actually did meal planning and shopping on Saturday so we've already had two days of it. I'll have leap into planning for the weekend annoyingly soon. We're all out (separately) on Saturday so perhaps it's just Sunday I have to come up with things for or do planning again from Sunday next week. that feels manageable.

HedwigHedgepig · 03/02/2026 14:01

A little late but here we are!

Monday (yesterday): Fake steak, chips and peas (veggie fingers for toddler)
Tuesday: halloumi bean stew
Wednesday: pasta alla norma (inspired by others on this thread!)
Thursday: jacket spuds
Friday: veggie bangers and mash with carrots and broccoli
Saturday: "chicken" tarragon with herby baby potatoes
Sunday: TBC - probably a freezer raid

We're a vegetarian family and my husband and son can be a bit fussy, so it's tricky to please everyone and still come up with something interesting that the baby can eat too. Harder still because I have both kids with me all day on Mondays and Thursdays (3 year old and 9 month old) and the baby often decides to nap trap me during dinner prep time so I need to have some quick easy back ups up my sleeve! Really enjoying taking inspiration from everyone else though, I've saved a few ideas to try out :)

And then we’re away for half term so who knows!

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 07/02/2026 13:57

Work has been, and continues to be, crazy so I've been eating like a student for too long. Best intentions this week to eat actual food, we shall see. Out tonight but hopefully rest of week will be:
Pie of some sort with roast potatoes and veg
Tofu ramen with gyoza
Tofu fried rice
Pasta, maybe macaroni cheese, been fancying it
Jacket potato with egg mayo and salad
Paneer curry

DilkushaKitchen · 07/02/2026 21:05

This week we shall mostly be eating

Today: Sausage and puy lentil surprise, maple and black pepper toasted swede - s'posed to have this earlier in the week but hey ho

Really must make my marmalade tomorrow too!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/02/2026 22:04

DP has decided that he wants to learn how to make quiche, so that’s on the menu for next week, although we’ll buy ready rolled pastry.

vegetable risotto is also on the list as I’ve got half a bottle of flat Prosecco that needs using or chucking

The rest tbc tomorrow for an order to come on Monday

SharpLemonShark · 07/02/2026 22:19

Well, Sunday lunch out with the parents has been cancelled again due to illness. Hopefully next week will be third time lucky!

It’s a winter warmer, comfort food menu in my house this week. So fed up with the cold and rain.

Sun: Mushroom bourguignon, colcannon mash
Mon: Smoked mackerel & leek hash with poached eggs
Tues: Garlic roast veg & lentil stew, toasted sourdough
Wed: Pesto haddock tray bake
Thurs: Broccoli cauliflower cheese with veggie sausages
Fri: Pizzas, salad, coleslaw

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 08/02/2026 00:19

@DilkushaKitchen do you have a recipe for the Lebanese spinach and cheese chickpeas? Sounds lovely.

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 08/02/2026 11:13

Lovely, thanks Dilkusha.

SpaceOP · 08/02/2026 12:47

Tonight: Pork mince stir fry with whatever's left in the fridge
M: Aubergine, chickpea and pepper curry.
T: Soup and toasted sandwiches - leek/potato soup with tuna toasties or tomato soup with cheese sandwiches.

W: Chicken thighs kokoro style from the slow cooker, with broccoli and rice
Th: Halloumi pitas with hot honey and greens
Fr: Steak, new potatoes, steamed veg, mushrooms

I feel like I should have gone beyond Friday but I have no ideas!

BiddyPopthe2nd · 08/02/2026 15:32

This week, I plan:
sun - just landed home again- raid the fridge, possibly Welsh rarebit and part baked French stick chucked in the oven
Mon: steamed salmon, wilted spinach and steamed baby potatoes
Tues: evening reception, so I’ll defrost a pasta bake in case I need food when I get in
Wed: either pasta bake (see above - with bacon, loads of veg and a cheese sauce) or a steak (I brought back 2 and will freeze both/the second)
Thurs: prawn sweet’n’sour with rice and loads of veg
Fri: my last portion of butter chicken and rice

At the weekend, I plan to make a proper spag Bol (cook down for 3 hours and evaporate off half a bottle of red wine version), with at least 3 portions to freeze and 1 for Monday next week.
I also want to roast a small chicken in Saturday and use leftovers on Sunday with mushrooms and a creamy white winey sauce, over vol au vents.

murasaki · 08/02/2026 15:42

Tonight: chicken Kiev, mash, asparagus
M: homemade freezer pie surprise for him, fish for me, chips for both, veg tbc

F: up to him.....
