Mine starts off the same as hc , except minus the flour and the marmite. Marmite?! What's that about?
At the frying onions and garlic stage, you can add in a little (a knife tip) of chilli flakes, available from ethnic supermarkets. I then fry up any other vegetables that are going in (leeks, carrots, courgettes, anything), and then fry the sausages too for a minute (chopped up or whole).
Add tomatoes, red wine, or any other stock that needs to be used up, a dash of worcester sauce and a spoonful or two of English mustard. And a bayleaf.
Bake in oven on lowish heat (150+, depending on how much of a hurry you're in) for between 40 minutes to an hour, depending on the temperature.
