Jack Monroe's festive nut roast

Have seen lots of recommendations for Jack Monroe's festive nut roast. Yet Googling only takes me to a snippet of the recipe or peopel's views on it.

Does anyone have the whole recipe and method?

I've not tried it but I know her recipes are quite unreliable plus she's in a bit of bother at the moment as it appears she's been receiving £thousands per month via her Patreon without fulfilling the rewards and at the same time pleading poverty... Would you be interested in other nut roasts or just hers?

Just don't. I've never tried a JM recipe that's worked.

There must be alternatives out there! JM’s recipes are unreliable at best and downright disgusting at worst.

Can any veggies reading here recommend something tried, tested and delicious? I have no idea if she does a nut roast, but Taming Twins’ recipes are practically foolproof, in my experience.

Cheaper (and nicer) to buy one.

If FawnDrench's recipe is the one, I struggle to see - with those ingredients alone - how it could be very tasty.

Is it the one full of old vegetable peelings?
Not sure why you'd pick a jack Monroe recipe rather than a nigella or Jamie or someone who actually knows how to cook and has been trained and can produce a decent recipe. Jack Monroe is a terrible cook. Her whole schtick was recipes for poor people made with the cheapest of ingredients and they don't even work.

I bought a couple of her cookbooks years ago (which were sent quickly to the charity shop) and I've honestly never made a recipe of hers that didn't turn out to be a total waste of ingredients. I wouldn't recommend bothering with any of her recipes.

I've used quite a few of her recipes. I think she's had a hard time of it. The High Court awarded her £24,000 in damages plus costs against the unspeakable Katie Hopkins.

The one shown looks revolting. Fruit has no place in a nut roast.

Am not sure why you've referenced the KH trial... but please do say how she's had a hard time of it whilst the apparent leak from her Patreon apparently shows she earned up to £10k per month from it - and that doesn't take into account her regular rattling the 'tip jar' and asking for donations for legal action that never happened...

I think you’ll find she has not had a hard time. She’s been living it up taking money from people who often cannot afford it. She’s your classic internet grifter.

She's had a kicking, and also came out as non binary and trans. She said this year she's fulfilled all her Patreon obligations. Call me a fool, but I like her style. And she's very pretty.

she said in an article she had, but like almost everything she said it was a lie. Her patreon was hacked into this week and it showed so many messages asking where their stuff and was all ignored. I don’t think she has sent stuff out in years.

Shes also neither trans or non binary. She jumped ship on that fairly quickly.

She's getting a Mumsnet kicking, which makes me kind of sorry for her.

I used to make the JM nut roast a lot. It was essentially stuffing mix, soaked in fruit juice, with chopped mixed nuts and seasonings added.

How did it taste? That sounds awful TBH and I'm a vegan who has eaten a lot of nut roast in my time so I'm not bashing the concept
