Campbell's meatballs in a can. I'm not even sure you can get them anymore, there was a definite hint of dog food about them.

Nannyfannybanny · 20/09/2023 18:59

Biscuits. Lemon puffs, pink wafer, and sugar. The other things I didn't like, but in the 50s you ate what was put in front of you.

Cornwallsummer · 20/09/2023 19:02

Crispy pancakes, favourite as a child. Tried one a few years ago, horrible!

Mauricemossy · 20/09/2023 19:05

Oxtail soup. Heinz of course!😐

I never liked turkey drum sticks or crispy pancakes as a child so no loss for me.
I wouldn't eat Mr Brains Faggots if ypu paid me to.
Cherryade is not the same, I used to get a panda pop bottle every Friday after Girls Brigade.
Penguin bars, Fluff, Sugarpuffs, those sponge puddings in tins, especially the spotted dick one 🤢

Eukanuba · 20/09/2023 19:10

Fish in a bag ! That was a ' treat ' when you were poorly in our house , can see it now - the grey rectangle of fish covered in a dubious sauce . 🤢

ValkyrieAssassin · 20/09/2023 19:10

I used to cook up a tin of creamed corn, add loads of butter and salt and eat it on toast.

bombastix · 20/09/2023 19:12

Pot Noodles. Butterscotch angel delight.

Bearpawk · 20/09/2023 19:14

Golden syrup sandwiches
Apple and sugar sandwiches
Jam sandwiches

KeepingKeepingOn · 20/09/2023 19:17

Heinz tinned macaroni cheese - LOVED it as a kid, but have since tried it and it tastes…odd.

interested to see the amount of Heinz on this thread already; is that because our tastes have changed so drastically or because Heinz generally has gone downhill? I think more the latter

Talapia · 20/09/2023 19:24

Liver

Recycledblonde · 20/09/2023 19:52

Despite being a child in the 70s we had very little food that wasn't homemade so I can't think of anything I wouldn't eat today.

WaitingfortheTardis · 20/09/2023 19:52
