I saw the Toast thread about the brand and was a bit disappointed that it’s not about various toast toppings ideas. So here’s a toast toast thread, what’s your fav toast topping? Toastie ideas also welcomed

Mine are -

simple butter with extra salt
condensed milk
welsh rarebit
simple ham and cheese toastie

I had smashed avocado on toast this morning - very nice

Ok tell me about the condensed milk - do you just spread it on?
Mine are:
Pate with some sort of jam/jelly on top
Cottage cheese with extra salt
Avocado with lime and salt
Hummus with extra salt

There's a pattern.

Pizza toast... salsa, chicken or pepperoni, cheese then grilled.

So many!

Butter and crunchy peanut butter is my default go to though! Usually have a slice of this, and another with butter and marmalade 😊

Honey and maldon salt - crunchy sweet and salty deliciousness

Thick doorstop white toast with loads of butter is always a classic. Scrambled or poached eggs are also a favourite.

I'm quite partial to sourdough toast with smoked mackerel paté at the moment.

Husband's fave is pesto, smoked mozzarella and a sprinkle of black pepper and crushed pistachios.

A toastie comprising:

two slices of sourdough, or any bread really, two eggs fried in olive oil, well cooked so they don't ooze too much, butter, plus a few chopped anchovies. Salt & pepper.

I like pate on toast with red current jelly (has to be a pate without pork in it)
I like cheese on toast with either capers, anchovies, ham or tuna.

Yes! Just spread it on!! YUM!

Butter, Marmite and cheese on toast

Cold toast with butter spread on when it's cooled down with either Tescos finest marmalade or bon marsh raspberry jam or a blackcurrant jam spread on top the butter.

Scrambled eggs

Smashed Avacado and a fried egg

Beans and cheese obvs

Cream cheese and smoked salmon

Gentleman's Relish on buttered toast, lovely with a glass of port.

Sardines on toast, great for a quick lunch.

Tapenade on toast, a super quick apero.

Croque Monsieur, a pretend you're in Paris lunch.

Marmite and lots of butter 😋

Cheese and bean toasties
Tuna with melted cheese on top
Marmite and peanut butter, great for hangovers

Honourable mention for spaghetti hoops.

This is my favourite too, the toast goes kind of chewy!

Just well toasted soft white bread with some grilled cheddar on top, a proper sharp cheddar! Haven't been able to eat that for ages as I have gallstones.

Tinned plum tomatoes, malt vinegar, sea salt and black pepper. Unbeatable!

But the toast has to be lightly toasted first, then generously laden with grated cheese, under the grill until bubbling. Ordinarily I would splash a good amount of W sauce but my new favourite is a truffle chilli hot sauce which is just divine.

Crunchy Peanut butter and sliced banana.
Sardines.
Cream cheese and marmite.
But just butter takes some beating.

@mrsbyers love to see an honorable mention for Maldon Salt, I lived there for a few years and wish I had the money to move back!

Butter, butter and more butter
Avocado, lemon and chili flakes
Pate, love smoked salmon pate, pork and garlic or home made tuna pate
Softly scrambled eggs.

Love toast.

Not sure if that's in the spirit of things - the thread is about toast and a tin of spaghetti hoops would overwhelm the toast.

And it makes the toast go soggy! But I expect it could be redeemed with loads of cheddar melted on top!

It doesn't if you eat it quick enough.

White toast, plenty of butter, chopped up banana. Instant nostalgia for my grandma's kitchen as a child

They have, but it's yuck anyway.

Butter, thinly sliced apple, brown sugar and cinnamon, then retoasted.

Or my current favourite St Dalfour's Mirabelle Plum Spread. So rich and fruity... that's "supper" sorted...
