What’s everyone having for their Sunday dinner? I fancy a roast…

We have a roast most Sunday's but I'm trying to ration then in the run up to Christmas, for maximum Christmas dinner appreciation!

onwardandupwards · 06/11/2022 17:47

Gammon with melted cheese and grilled pinapple, fried eggs, chips and grilled tomatoes, dessert is old school style sponge tray bake with pink custard.

Mueslikid · 06/11/2022 17:51

A Hungarian chicken stew (very loosely based on DH grandma’s proper, authentic family recipe), served with roast potatoes and runner beans.

Lemon meringue pie for pudding.

TakeAShowerTakeAShower · 06/11/2022 17:51

Roast chicken, roast potatoes, broccoli carrots and peas

NatWestPigFamily · 06/11/2022 17:53

I really fancy roast lamb but just recovering from covid so I have done an easy “one pot” dinner of chicken, chorizo, potato and Mediterranean veg bake.

muttondressedasmutton1 · 06/11/2022 17:56

Beef and tomato pot noodle. I have covid at the moment and can't taste anything, so I don't see the point in cooking myself a nice meal

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 06/11/2022 18:01

Delia's belly pork in barbecue sauce 😋

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 06/11/2022 18:05

Pork belly, roast potatoes, roast broccoli, stuffing and gravy. Apple crumble with cream/ice cream for pudding.

duvets · 06/11/2022 18:07

Roast chicken flavoured with za'atar, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, Gordon Ramsey yorkies, broccoli and gravy. It worked out alright!

I was going to offer strudel with cream & custard for pudding, but the smallest ones were so obnoxious throughout that I had to rescind pudding.

MilkshakeNFries · 06/11/2022 18:11

Just having a veggie & prawn noodle stirfry. No more roasts until Christmas!

Really fancy that Hairy Hikers sausage pie, now, though 😋

Amiable · 06/11/2022 18:12

For the first time in ages I'm doing roast chicken, with roast potatoes, carrots, Savoy cabbage and broccoli - with homemade gravy obvs!

TheNinthLock · 06/11/2022 18:18

Pulled pork with coleslaw and cornbread 😊

Bumbletrees · 06/11/2022 18:23

So many fancy meals. And so many proper ‘puddings’. I never plan my meals like this……sounds like I need to!

Bumbletrees · 06/11/2022 18:24

How do you do smashed potatoes in Airfyer?

MotherofPearl · 06/11/2022 18:25

All these sound delicious.

We've had homemade Lancashire cheese and onion pie, a tray of new potatoes roasted with salt and rosemary, plus steamed green beans. And berry sponge pudding with custard afterwards.

RusticChips · 06/11/2022 18:26

Mince & onion, roast potatoes, yorkshire pud, carrots, sprouting broccoli

AriettyHomily · 06/11/2022 18:28

My version of a chicken pot pie with mash and gravy

Blueberrycreampie · 06/11/2022 18:28

Stir fried pork, vegetables n a 5 spice sauce with noodles. 👩‍🍳

ProperVexed · 06/11/2022 18:29

@LadyMonicaBaddingham I used to cook that all the time! Loved it! Must dig out the recipe and do it again. Thanks for the reminder.

Spanielsarepainless · 06/11/2022 18:29

Roast beef, roast potatoes, roast onions, roast parsnips, Savoy cabbage and carrots. And my unbelievably delicious gravy...

CoffeandTiaMaria · 06/11/2022 18:30

DH had homemade cottage pie, I had a tin of lobster bisque soup and crisp breads, lemon meringue pie to follow.

SaltedCaramelIcedLatte · 06/11/2022 18:30

Boneless BBQ beef ribs, crispy potato slices and coleslaw

Mimilamore · 06/11/2022 18:32

Cassoulet from a tin brought back from France in the summer, sauté potatoes, cavelo Nero and rhubarb pie (Tesco) with ice cream... all gone 'twas very nice!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/11/2022 18:32

Totally lazy here - bought pies, M&S dauphinoise potatoes and savoy cabbage

In my defence, I've made a vat of Puy lentil spag Bol sauce for a lasagne tomorrow and enough to freeze as well.
