Do you have any unusual sandwich filling suggestions? I'm currently munching on a cheddar and mango chutney sandwich 😋

Peanut butter and veggie bacon, peanut butter and marmite.

Guava jam and spicy cheese

Omg funnily enough I had cheddar, mango chutney and onion last night then came down with norovirus in the night and I'm never going to be able to eat another one again. Sad times.

My go to comfort foods !

Fish finger Reuben sandwich -- grilled or fried fish fingers, melted cheese, sauerkraut and a Russian dressing (or mayo mixed with a spicy tomato chutney. Hot sauce optional) on toasted bread. Rye bread if possible.

Toastie combo - left over mash, grated cheddar & onion, sweet chilli sauce to dip 😋

Sandwich combo - dairylea & gherkins

Ham, boiled egg, mango chutney, mayo. It was often a special in the local sandwich shop near work. I loved it.

(Anyone else think of the Gavin & Stacey church scene about sandwich fillings when they saw the title?! 😆)

I was literally coming on this thread to recommend that exact sandwich filling . Even better with the spicy mango chutney and as a toastie.

Onion bhajis (shredded), cream cheese and mango chutney.

Birds eye vegetable fingers on a sandwich.
BBQ chicken and potato salad.

This thread has given me a serious craving for Mango Chutney & cheese!

Peanut butter and banana

Similar to your mango chutney I like my cheese sandwiches with a spicy Indian tomato chutney. The type you normally dip Indian snacks in rather than the stuff sold in Sainsburys for sandwiches. It's spicy and savoury rather than sweet.

I made some coronation egg sandwiches for tea party over the summer. They were surprisingly delicious.

Bacon & avocado.
Bacon & leftover curried veg from last night.
Bacon & leftover roasted broccoli.

All with lots of mayo.

Corned beef and lemon curd.

Tried on the recommendation of a pregnant friend, but surprisingly nice!

Eating it right now:
Chopped up chicken Kiev, mayo, tomatoes, cucumber
Gotta be soft white batch to accommodate the chunkiness

One of the UK chain "Cornish pasty" places did a great "vegetarian holiday pasty" a few years ago, with veggie (I assume stove-top-style) stuffing, brie, and cranberry sauce with whole berries. I've tried to recreate it, and the closest I've come is putting it all on a thin, pliable whole wheat wrap/tortilla/lavash/shepherds' bread and toasting the whole thing to melting-cheese temperature. Probably a bit much for everyday, but brilliant if you have some leftover stuffing!

I also like blue cheese or very sharp/aged cheddar toasted with thin slices of apple or pear.

Mushy peas between scotch pancakes. Do not knock this until you've tried it! Also peanut butter and burger relish on ordinary bread.

Ds loves chocolate spread and peanut butter sandwiches and lemon curd and chocolate spread sandwiches not envy!
