Where can I buy some flour online without amazon charging £12+ per packet??

Strong flour not strictly necessary for making bread - loads of videos on youtube showing no knead bread made with ordinary plain flour.

Can't get that either though.

I have just got some flour from a no-plastic shop which has had to switch to online only. Some of the wholefood shops might be worth investigating online.

@DramaAlpaca My Aldi and lidl always have flour at the moment, possibly not strong white but just plain flour pretty much constantly. Also we have a local Asian store that has yeast and big huge bags of flour (I have kinda kept that information to myself to be honest!)

No flour in my lidl today

I used to have my own baking business too, so going through my cupboards the other day I found some gluten free bread flour (from a previous order) so I drove to a friend's house and left it by her front door along with some yeast, as I know she is gluten intolerant and was struggling to get bread.
I found lots of packets of out of date lasagne sheets 😳 but I know that they are safe to eat, so I broke them up and cooked them as normal pasta for my DCs dinners.

Thanks nowwaitaminute same here in my local Aldi, just no strong white which is what I need, I have the other types. I can't get to an Asian store without driving 20 miles, but I did pick up an enormous bag of rice last week. Good tip, though!

nowhere. really annoying as it's not like you can keep flour forever anyway and i actually use it on the reg/need to top up.

BlackandGold · 28/03/2020 19:37

Just to say that the specialist (cake baking) shop in our small town offered to order flour from their supplier and then split it between those who had put their order in.
Collection or delivery was today; excellent idea.

If anyone is a regular baker with similar contacts then it might be worth asking.

I haven't seen flour, paracetamol or hand sanstiser for weeks now.
