Now that I've mastered instant pot porridge on a delayed start - How do you eat yours? What do you have on/mixed into it.

I'm bored of banana and blueberries.

My go to toppings are:
Raspberries with tiny drizzle of honey
Blueberries with flaked almonds
Blackberries with flaked almonds
Stewed pears
Stewed apple
Mixed berry compote
Or sometimes just honey
When I'm under the weather, I love a dollop of jam (blackcurrant is my favourite at the moment)

Phalarope · 11/11/2019 21:20

Grated carrot, banana, walnuts and cinnamon - trust me on the carrot
Frozen raspberries and almonds
Stewed apple and a splodge of yogurt

LassoOfTruth · 11/11/2019 21:21

Nutella. Just a teaspoon mixed through.
Not the healthiest maybe, but sooooo good! Or I like a drizzle of honey and some chopped walnuts

Justmuddlingalong · 11/11/2019 21:22

Peanut butter and raspberry jam.

MyNameIsJane · 11/11/2019 21:22

Oh yes to Nutella

MadnessInMethod · 11/11/2019 21:22

@Phalarope that sounds bloody lovely, I imagine it tastes a little like carrot cake.

@LassoOfTruth I'm not a fan of Nutella, which is a shame because I see pictures on Instagram of chocolate-y porridge and it looks lush.

A teaspoon of peanut butter and a half a banana.
Some chia seeds with frozen berries.
Cinnamon and chopped apple.

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 11/11/2019 21:27

Grated apple.

Ground almonds. Or chopped nuts.

And frozen raspberries or other berries. Mushed in to make it pink!

Bluntness100 · 11/11/2019 21:30

I don't eat porridge, but if you want it chocolatey and don't like Nutella, just use Cadbury's (or another brand) chocolate spread.

Fakeflowersaremynewnormal · 11/11/2019 21:32

Salt.

Just kidding Grin I like raisins and brown sugar.

Unsalted peanut butter and mixed berries in porridge is a great combination. Not too savoury. Not too sweet!

tobee · 11/11/2019 21:41

Sorry that was meant to be unsweetened peanut butter. Crunchy for preference!

thegreatestgiftthatipossess · 11/11/2019 21:41

I mix some lemon curd in. Heavenly!

JessicaRarebit · 11/11/2019 21:42

Grated carrots, raisins and cinnamon + bit of honey, brown sugar or maple syrup

etimram · 11/11/2019 21:46

Chopped dates

rainbowlou · 11/11/2019 21:48

I read on here last year a spoonful of mince pie filling is delicious, I’ve never got round to trying it but adding it to my shopping list!

Tolleshunt · 11/11/2019 21:52

I was going to say mincemeat! The sweet one, obvs!

Also, pears cut fine and cooked with cinnamon.

Also bananas that have been microwaved until liquefied and intensely sweet. Cinnamon is a nice addition.

Frozen berries thawed and warmed in the microwave.

BlackBerry and apple stewed.

Apricot jam.

Marmalade.
