1970s theme buffet ideas please

Having a 1970s themed night with friends we all grew up in the 70s so thought this would be fun! I don’t have bags of time for prep so looking for ideas for snacks and nibbles to buy / make easily and relatively cheaply. Thinking along the lines of cheese footballs. Already got some 70s sweets.

An orange cheese and pineapple hedgehog. (Cubes of cheese and pineapple on cocktail sticks stuck in an orange.)

Trifle. Homemade.

For a buffet you’d need devilled eggs, cheese and silver skin onion / pineapple hedgehog, twiglets, Black Forest gateaux for pud, mushroom and/or prawn vol-au-vents and if you’re posh you need a poached salmon deforested with cucumber ‘scales’.

When you make the pineapple/cheese hedgehog you will make the middle a grapefruit wrapped in foil, won't you??!!

The hedgehog has to be the centrepiece. I need to look up what a rice mould is it sounds very tacky and therefore perfect for my buffet

I think the cheese and pineapple on a stick and the vol-au-vents are compulsory for a 70's theme. Also small sausage rolls.

The c&p on a stick/hedgehog does take some cutting and cocktail-sticking time though, I did it once and was surprised how long it took!

Mounds of sausage rolls i remember lots of sausage rolls At parties, don't get rubbish booze it will spoil it maybe a snowball but Blue nun is so sharp it cuts your face in 2

Sugar or 100s and 1000s sprinkled on buttered sliced bread triangles, mini rolls and a good staunch fruit cake.

A bowl of sweet and a bowl of sour onions on cocktail sticks.

Paper umbrellas in drinks, sugar around rims.

Tinned salmon sandwiches were a big thing at our new year parties no mayo though mixed with some salad cream or butter
