They go well in spaghetti bolognaise.

Good when camping unless you camp next to herb gardens.
Good when self catering. Unless you have staff to do your shopping/cooking.
Good when doing that foil and fish oven baking thing.

Nothing wrong with herbes de Provence. Very useful. My kids like it on pizza.

Don't you lot know that dried herbs are for poor uncultured people with no taste?

I'm a GREAT cook, a massive food snob, and I used dried mixed herbs! Don't sprinkle them on your porridge, but in a stew, why not?

I like mixed herb peasant. My MIL bought 2 flashing bunny ears, sugar cubes, angrl delight, clothes for dcs, bath sponges, toothbrushes for dcs, a doll, loom bands.... The list goes on.... Bar the clothes, why just why? We have enough crap things.
