janssons temptation - a swedish dish of potatoes, onions and sweet anchovies baked in cream - all time fav.

Agliote (I think that's how you spell it) - french dish - Really creamy mashed potato with loads of lightly sauted crushed garlic and gruyere cheese grated in until it's a big, gooey mess - quick fav.

Janstar · 28/02/2004 12:23

Apart from being a mumsnetter's nickname, manna is food supposedly provided by God for the Jews who followed Moses for 40 years while he traversed the wilderness in search of the promised land. It was supposed to be white stuff that fell in the night covering the rocks, trees etc and they went round each morning and collected it for their breakfast.

A likely story.

suzywong · 28/02/2004 12:23

A fish finger sandwich and a proper ham sandwich, not wafer thin ham, with mustard - and of course cheddar cheese and Branston
