Here we are, a lovely shiny, new thread just in time for Xmas.

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 05/01/2013 16:47

Evenin' all.

Had a lovely day with my boys having coffee and picking up a few things. Measured a small boy's feet at M&S so I could order him some new school shoes from Amazon. Can't bloody find them any where else this time of year. May buy him two pairs next year.

Bonkey my husband had to do that a few years ago. Not pleasant. Good luck!

My appointment isn't until Tuesday. I'm fretting a bit about the mole.

EmpressOfThePuddle · 05/01/2013 20:19

Good for you Brian!

I don't want to think about ours.

Tee, I don't know how it works in NI but is there an equivalent of A&E you can go to if you need to?

Didn't get the job, they wanted someone with more relevant experience. Lots of others to go for though.

Bonkey, um... a whole pack of foil & three airtight boxes???

Tee2072 · 05/01/2013 20:53

Of course we have A&E, Empress. Grin

I'm not fretting about waiting, I'm fretting about what the biopsy will show when they remove it. My last one, about 5 years ago, was 'abnormal but benign' but I was told at the time that if more change it could indicate something. I have no idea if they meant after 5 years! Smile

EmpressOfThePuddle · 05/01/2013 22:39

Sorry Tee

Ignorance not offensiveness! Grin

Have a Wine and some chocolate cake.

giraffesCantGoFirstFooting · 06/01/2013 03:22

Morning all! I can't sleep :( Have a sore head. Went to bed early and woke up at 2. Will try to sleep again soon. Have had some paraceramol. Went to my Grans this eve for tea and biscuits - do you like her tea set?? Very sweet!

Brian are you feeling any better now?

Ouch state, your poor boob!

TY - Drs gave me ventolin inhalers, more nebules, predniselone for now and a spare predniselone prescription to have in the house. Said she could hear wheezing in chest and my HR was way up. DP thinks he doesn't have asthma, I have diagnosed him. (He had it as a child and has terrible excema - so bad he is on drugs that people get after organ transplant) He coughs lots especially night and morning and wheezes! monkey Grin at poo sample!!

Tee2072 · 06/01/2013 17:26

Evening all.

giraffes I hope you got some more sleep.

We finally took the decorations down around here and have gotten the house back to it's pre-holiday level of normal clutter. Grin

LT's been off all day and he is running a small fever so he may be off school tomorrow. Which would really be difficult for me as I have tons of work to do but c'est le vie.

From the 'isn't it ironic files' just after she commented on how skinny he was (we were on Skype) my mother told me I'd give him a complex by mentioning how tall he is. Hmm Okay then. ::head desk::

DreamySleepyNightySnoozySnooze · 07/01/2013 10:09

Best. Schoolrun. Ever.

I've had 3 hours sleep, and was dreading getting up today. But it was all worthwhile, because I saw something I never thought I'd see - an actual punch-up between 2 mums outside school. Shock At 9am! We live in a naice, respectable village, I didn't think that sort of thing happened here! I know I'm being childish, but it was really very strange, and I live a very boring life, therefore I found it funny. Grin They were both ok by the way, no blood. The fight got broken up by a man who ran over and got between them.

BonkeyMollocks · 07/01/2013 10:13

Shock Grin Dreamy What was it about? Do you know?

DreamySleepyNightySnoozySnooze · 07/01/2013 10:15

No idea. I saw them talking, then they started shouting at each other. I looked away, next thing I heard a lot of commotion, looked back and they were brawling! Crazy!

EmpressOfThePuddle · 07/01/2013 10:20

Dreamy Envy
Just had text to say DD's school are sending them all home because of water problem so dashing back from shopsHmm

Tee2072 · 07/01/2013 17:59

Wow, Dreamy, how exciting!

I do not know if anything exciting happened at school today because LT is off ill. Started with a small fever and segued into puking this morning. Hasn't since, but I'll keep him home until Wednesday. That'll teach me to send him to a new daycare!

BrianCoxandTheTempleofDOOM · 07/01/2013 18:29

Hello!

Giraffes, I am much better thank you for asking. Hope your headache subsided and you got some sleep.

Sleep still evades me - I think this is pregnancy related and due to the fact I have been off work for 3 weeks and it has ballsed up my routine.

Dreamy, brilliant! I always miss interesting stuff at school. I tend to read about it in the newsletter, but it is normally the HT warning us that any issues are to be sorted out away from school, so I never find out what has happened. Unfortunately I do not live in a naice village, but a massive council estate and therefore parent scuffles are not uncommon (maybe 2 a year!)

Had an unexpectedly nice day. Got into work and my colleague has put a large binbag full of baby clothes on my desk! Have just rifled through it all - most of it still has tags on! All really lovely stuff too.

Then my boss was asking me if I would consider a change of role, keeping the basics of what I do now (order processing, basic sales enquiries) but none of the in-depth enquiries which are just horrendous frankly! I would have to move out of the Sales office to the currently un-manned Reception desk and take on the role of Receptionist. I have always said I would love the job of Receptionist (no stress, staying customer focused etc) and it is likely to mean I would get the full time hours I eventually want. Basically, very low stress job that I could do full time and get my work/life balance just right. It is not set in stone yet, but it is looking good.

I could start my new role as soon as 2 weeks. Part of me feels that I am being a bit of a drop out - taking the easy role when I am capable of so much more....but then the idea of a virtually stress free job with a company that I love and with the potential of full time hours, makes me think 'sod it' After all, I just need the easy route while DS is little and this helps me to stay in the grind of work and not lose any 'skills' etc (as happens, CV wise, when you dare admit you have been away from work in order to raise children!)

So yeah, nice start to the new year! Smile

Hope everyone else has had a good Monday!

BrianCoxandTheTempleofDOOM · 07/01/2013 18:33

Tee -hope LT is on the mend, do you think it is the norovirus or 'just' a random sickness bug? Hopefully, either way, he will be back on his feet again asap.

EmpressOfThePuddle · 07/01/2013 19:00

Hope LT feels better soon.

Brian, that's fantastic Grin

DD and I took advantage of all the other kids being at school and played football all morning in the park.

BonkeyMollocks · 07/01/2013 20:23

Sending get well wishes too LittleTee!

Great news Brian!
Not a drop out at all! You have to do whats best for you and your family!

Tee2072 · 07/01/2013 20:28

Thanks everyone. He was much perkier tonight although still running a slight fever so one more day off school for him. He only threw up the once so I'm thinking a random thing rather than noro, thank the gods!

Brian sounds like the perfect plan!

Empress that sounds like a great morning.

EmpressOfThePuddle · 07/01/2013 20:59

That must be a huge relief, Tee.

Yes, it was great Grin. Even if she did thrash me!

StateofConfusion · 07/01/2013 21:52

Glad to hear LT is on the mend :)

Change of job sounds a really good option brian

I was gutted I missed a fight at the dcs school dreamy luckily my dp and the dcs friends dad are bigger gossips than me and had a good nose and gave me a blow by blow account, we also live on an estate so its not that unusual here, seriously, think Shameless and you'd be on the right track, we had neighbours living in a car! never again will I fall for a house because of the interior! We are moving this year

How are you giraffes? Hope your still having lots of fun with Mr new man.

Hope dds school is sorted soon empress

As for me, my delightful big two got headlice from somewhere so I spent the afternoon treating them

Dps scan results came back for his hip and its bad news, high chance perfes disease is back but atleast he's now got a specialist involved and it will be dealt with
Lilys still doing great such a content little poppet ds is back to school tomorrow thank goodness he has been such hard work this holiday, dd back thursday dreading it as she's so emotional atm but can't wait to get back to normal!

EmpressOfThePuddle · 08/01/2013 00:46

Had a text to say the school is sorted, thanks State, so she's back in tomorrow Grin
It was fun having her off today though.

Headlice.... lovely. Poor you.
Yes, at least they're tackling the Perthes. I bet Lily's helping cheer your DH up - she's gorgeous.

EmpressOfThePuddle · 08/01/2013 00:49

ThanksWineThanksWineThanksWineThanksWineThanksWine

Tee2072 · 08/01/2013 08:08

Happy Birthday Showy!!!!!!!!!!

showtunesgirl · 08/01/2013 09:02

Thank you Puddlers!

I'm breaking my rule and temping today as I had a spa day off yesterday as my sister couldn't get today off.

Still I'm going out for a nice lunch and dinner today. I have donned comfy leggings in readiness! Grin

showtunesgirl · 08/01/2013 11:12

Oh and this morning before DH took DD to her CM's he said: Say Happy Birthday to Mummy, Happy Birthday. DD said: Hap Day.

That's not bad for 13 months is it? Grin

EmpressOfThePuddle · 08/01/2013 11:58

Hap Day is very impressive! Enjoy your lunch and dinner.

StateofConfusion · 08/01/2013 13:30

Happy Birthday showy

Hap Day is fantastic! All my ds said at 1yo was Row Row (as in row row row your boat)
Have a lovely day! X

Finally convinced Lily a bath isn't terrifying, she screamed so bad when I put her in the baby bath last week I gave up and got her out so today I had a bath and put her in with me, she screamed when dp took her out this time! But after he dressed her she fell asleep on him and is now snoozing in the pram, which is unusual she normally has a feed to go to sleep! I'm eating cookies to celebrate.
